Chapter 2- People Make Mistakes
And at the exact same time, Taichi and Sora turned around. When they saw each other, they were shocked and amazed at what they saw. And, in their hearts, they didn't fell hatred any more, they felt something else. Something which they had never felt before.
It was love. Finally, after all these years, Taichi and Sora had fallen in love with each other.
Sora's p.o.v.
'Wow, it that really Prince Taichi? He's so different. How can one person change so rapidly in just a year? He's so handsome and mature now, not like the Taichi I used to know, who was always giving me a hard time! He's so strong too! I think I can feel my knees buckling! Could it be that Taichi is the one I've been dreaming about all these years?'
Taichi's p.o.v.
'Wow, is that Princess Sora? I can't be! She's so beautiful and looks so kind and gentle. She's changed so much in this last year. I can't believe it's the same Sora I grew up with! It's like she started out as an ugly duckling, and somehow, suddenly became a swan! Could Sora be the girl I've been dreaming about all these years?'
Normal p.o.v.
Taichi and Sora slowly walked over to each other, like they were on cloud nine. They stopped in the middle of the hall.
"Good evening Prince Taichi, I'm really happy to be here," said Sora as she curtsied.
Taichi noticed that Sora was wearing the necklace he gave her when she was a baby. He smiled to himself as his heart began to beat faster and faster.
"As am I Princess Sora,"he said as he bowed, "would you like to dance?"
"But there is no music."
"Whenever I see you, music is always playing in my heart ( a/n: corny, I know!)"
Sora blushed slightly as Taichi held her hand in his. They began to dance.
Meanwhile, hiding behind one of the doors, King Takenouchi and Queen Kamiya were watching their children. They too were smiling when they saw how happy they looked as Sora and Taichi danced. Queen Kamiya signalled something to the servants as they came rushing past the door into the hall.
Taichi and Sora felt like they were on cloud nine as they looked into each other's eyes. Suddenly, they both heard music beginning to play and people rummaging around. They looked up to see the royal band had sneaked in and were now playing romantic music. Also, the servants had brought in food and refreshments and they were now laid out on the tables at the side of the hall. Guests were now coming into the hall, watching the two lovebirds.
Taichi and Sora looked around the hall and saw their parents standing at the foot of one of the staircases, smiles plastered on their face.
"You think this was planned?" laughed Sora
"Knowing our parents, this was probably planned years ago!" answered Taichi. They looked into each other's eyes and began dancing again. As they looked deeper into each other's eyes, the music started to slow down, and Sora and Taichi felt like they were the only two people in the world. As the music came to an end, Taichi and Sora shared their first kiss. And what a kiss it was!
When they broke apart, they just stood there for a few minutes, holding onto each other, not believing that they were in love. But soon, the silence was broken.
"Arrange the marriage!" announced Taichi. Everyone in the hall started cheering. The marriage was on! The plan had work! King Takenouchi spun around Queen Kamiya, who was now crying. The whole Kingdom was happy and celebrating; well, not everyone.
Sora looked around. She wasn't sure if she wanted to go through with this. Yes, she loved Taichi with all her heart. She loved everything about him; his looks, his talents, his mind; his hair! But she wanted to know if Taichi really did care for her like she cared for him.
"Wait!" She shouted
The guests looked up. What was wrong now? It looked like the plan wasn't going to work after all and the Kingdoms may not be united. Taichi looked confused. Why was Sora doing this? King Takenouchi and Queen Kamiya were worried too.
"What? You're all I ever wanted. You're beautiful!" Said Taichi
"Thank you, but what else?" Asked Sora
"What else?"
"Is beauty all that matters to you?"
King Takenouchi coughed to get Sora's attention and shook his head telling her no, but Sora wanted to know. Taichi was panicking now. He was on the spotlight and he didn't know what to say. Well, he did, but he couldn't find the right words.
"What else is there?" He finally said, unsure.
Wrong answer.
Sora was crushed. 'Taichi only cares about the way I look? How could he? I love him with all my heart and he only cares about how I look? I was wrong, he hasn't changed!'
Sora ran out the hall before anyone could see her tears. King Takenouchi and Queen Kamiya ran after her. As Sora left, Taichi felt like he was all alone. He was only left with his thoughts as the guests left. 'What have I done?'
