Chapter One

5000 years ago

Akefia, a tanned young tomb robber, ran along the rainy streets of Ancient Egypt as the Pharaoh's guard chased him.

A girl with red hair watched, and then spread her scaled black wings. She dove down, put her arms around the boy's waist, and lifted him into the air.

She flew him above the stands and flew to the other side of the Nile. Then, she set him down and smiled as her cat ears flat against her head.

"You okiday?" she asked in a small voice with a soft purr to it.

He starred at her.

She had black cat ears, a black tail, black demon wings, and was wearing elegant, light colored clothes. Her skin, unlike his, was slightly pale and very fair. Her eyes were a deep forest green and shone like the stars.

"Yeah," he replied softly. His own voice was soft.

She smiled.

"I'm Kat," she said, bowing.

He nodded.

"Akefia," he replied.

Kat nodded.

"Auntie Koi-sama, I found him!" she said to the darkness behind them.

A young girl with brown-blond hair came over to Kat and Akefia.

"Your Aunt said she'd be out soon..." she muttered.

Kat nodded.

"Yusuamie, this is Akefia. 'Kefia, this is one of my good friends, Yusuamie," Kat introduced them.

Yusuamie bowed. Akefia sniffed the air and made a face. The three sat in silence, until a woman with fair, Elvin skin appeared.

Her skin was pale in the moonlight and her hair was red, like Kat's, but it was longer and tied back with a purple bow. Her ears flattened as she looked down at them. She held herself with an air of superiority, but when she spoke, it was as if angels were singing.

Her voice was soft and soothing, contrasting with her sharp blue-green eyes and her superior air.

"You poor thing. Hmmm.. you're , you can stay with us," she said sweetly, holding out her hand.

Akefia starred. He may have only been six, but he had never seen such a fair lady. She must've been about five-six. Her clothes fit snuggly, showing how skinny she was, but he knew that looks could deceive anyone. Her red hair came down to her waist and was cut carelessly at that point.

He reached out and took her hand. She held his hand and led him along. Her hand was soft and warm, not to mention very smooth.

The four of them went inside what looked like a pyramid. Inside, though, was different. It was creatively decorated with different shades of green and blue. The walls made out the image of a forest and some body of water.
