Chapter #4: Coming Together
*~*~*Elaya's POV*~*~*
"Hun? Hun?" A distance voice asked. "Wake up, we're here." A gentle nudge woke me up.
"Mmph?" I managed to mumble. "Oh, hey Mai. Sorry about that...." I sit up in my seat, only to be restrained by my seatbelt. Ouch.
"That's okay. Come on. Their train should be coming in soon." Mai smiled. "Need some help?"
"Nah. I'm okay. I think that nap did me good." Finally, I unbuckled my seatbelt and stretched. Ouch--again--massive neck strain.......This is probably the last time I'll ever sleep in a car.....
"Well, let's go!" She said enthusiastically. Shutting the engine and opening the door, she waited for me to get out. I did so, a lot faster than I thought I would, and walked with her to the train station.
"NEXT!" An old lady at the reception desk-thing shouted. Mai walked up casually. "Hi! Uh, just a quick question...."
"That's what I'm here for." The lady said. How rude. You really shouldn't interrupt people when they are talking. Especially if that person is Mai.
"I know. That's why I'M here!" Mai said back. "Look, I'm just wondering what platform will the train....." She looks at a little strip of paper before continuing "....the train that comes from Hansworth......"
The lady looked at Mai blankly. "Now lady! I don't have time for this!" Mai tapped her foot impatiently.
"Mai, calm down.....Do you know which platform it is?" I ask, finally saying something in this heated discussion.
"Yeah. Platform 5."
"Why didn't you say that before?!" Mai shouted.
"No reason." Grumbling, Mai took my hand and pulled me towards our destination.
"The nerve of some people!" Mai said as we were travelling. "I mean, really! How rude! You don't just go blabbing off to people! Like, seriously- -"
"--Mai, calm down....She's gone....Let's just go...." Finally pulling free of her death grip, we stumbled upon the station; just as the train was coming in.
"Look! I think I see him!" Mai cried. She excitedly pointed to a certain blonde haired friend who was wearing a goofy grin. Behind him was Tristan, smiling and waving as well.
"Dudes!" I cry, waving to them, waiting for the train to come to a stop.
*~*~*New York Airport--Téa's POV*~*~*
"Okay, got my shoes, my clothes, my hair brush, my toothbrush....wait....Where's my toothbrush?!" I look around nervously in my third duffel bag for my tiny blue tooth-cleaning utensil. Arg! Where is it?! Running to the washroom, I check under the sink, in the sink, in the garbage can--not sure WHY it would be in there--and even the bathtub. Even though my room is small, I've lost half of my things.
"Shoot!" I mutter aloud. Examining the area where I sleep closely, I see something flicker in the light. "Ah-ha! Found ya!" Grabbing the brush, I throw it in the bag and zip it up. Alright, everything is accounted for--
"Téa?" A voice calls from outside breaking my thoughts.
"Yeah?" I call back, moving closer to the door to hear what my 'guest' had to say.
"Your........uh.......cab is here.....It's waiting outside." I hear footsteps signaling that the guy was gone. Oh man! In just one hour, I'll be on a plane to Domino City! I can finally see Yugi again! Aw.....I can't wait to see him face to face and not rely on photographs to remember what he looks like--or what everyone else looks like! Joey, Tristan and Elaya are all gonna be there! I'm so excited.....Too bad the plane ride is so long.....
Grabbing my bags, I walk out of my room--locking it behind me of course-- and continue to walk down the halls. Getting to the exit, I see the simple yellow taxi that is the signature of New York. Climbing in, the taxi takes off towards the airport.
"M'am? We're here. Your fare is $18.40" The taxi man informed after 15 minutes of driving. Paying my fare and grabbing my bags, I entered the airport, got my tickets and sat patiently at my terminal.
"Can all passengers on the Departure Flight #629; from New York to Domino City, please board now.....Thank you...." Oh man! This is so cool! I'm just hours away from seeing them again! Yes! Yes! Yes! Practically running, I went inside the plane.
"Row 10, Seat C......Row 10, Seat.....Ah! Found it!" I whisper softly. I sit down, to soon be companied by two more people; one old man with grey hair and dark eyes and one middle aged female with blonde hair, brown eyes and a laptop. Looking at the scene below from my window seat, I became relieved when the plane began to move.
I hope that this trip to Egypt goes well. I mean, like, I hope that the Pharaoh's memories come back safe and sound......I know that this is gonna be a tough time for Yugi--and Elaya and even Bakura--since they are giving up someone that was so dear to them and to probably never hear from them again......Well, Bakura's Yami wasn't that dear.....but Elaya's and Yugi's sure were. Sighing, I slump forward in my seat and rest my head in my hands. This totally sucks. I know that it's gonna be great that the whole gang is together again, but at the same time, it's gonna be sad too because part of our gang is going away! And they were an important part too......always helping us out when we were in danger....
Yugi's gonna be really heart-broken once his Yami leaves. Atem was always there for Yugi, ready to give him the courage and confidence he needed to help him through his troubles. And with him gone, Yugi might forget about all the words that Atem had given him and be scared and alone......I really hope not! I really hope that Yugi will continue to be strong......
I know Elaya is gonna act like 'it's-no-big-deal' on the outside, but on the inside, she's gonna be shattered. Justi saved Elaya many times in different situations--most of those situations were life-threatening, with Dieen and all. Oh man, if Elaya keeps all her emotions inside, she's going to lash out on someone--probably one of us--and it won't be pretty......Poor guys....I somewhat wish that I could feel what they were going through so I could help them through it......
"Would you like anything to drink, m'am?" The stewardess asked politely.
"Some water would be great." I said, looking up and smiling, trying not to show my disappointment of how she interrupted my thoughts. Whoa, this has been the second time today!
"Here you are." She hands me the plastic cup and pushes her trolley forward to the next line of thirsty passengers.
This is going to be so hard for those two, but I know that we'll all lean on one another for support--like good friends should. No matter what happens, your friends will always be ready to catch you when you fall. Yugi and Elaya will be missing a part of their souls, but they should know that their respective Yami's will always have a place in their hearts and in their memories.
Smiling a bit, I took a sip of that ice-cold water and leaned back in my 'comfy' chair. I looked out the window to see a gorgeous sky of blue with little balls of white fluff floating around. Gazing at the clouds, something hits me: How's Bakura gonna act?......Hmmm.......The spirit within his Millennium Item was evil; always trying to hurt us or him, and he was always out to get the Pharaoh. Yami Bakura better be locked away in the Shadow Realm for good! I'd hate to have him lingering around in Egypt where all seven Items will be......
Oh no! What if Yami Bakura comes back suddenly?! With all seven Millennium Items in the same place, he could easily steal them without going on a timely search to find them all! If any of those evil spirits are there, it could mean bad news for Yugi, the Pharaoh, and the rest of us too!
*~*~*Domino Airport--Reader's POV*~*~*
The now-taller Yugi Motou, stepped out of the airplane with a huge smile on his face [I'm finally home! I can't wait to see everyone!] With his carry- on luggage in hand, he walked as calmly as he could towards the luggage pick-up area. [I've missed this place so much!!]
After waiting fifteen minutes in front of the spinning luggage rack, he found his and sat down in a nearby seat. [Oh man....Once I gather all the Items, I can finally go to Egypt and restore--OH SHIT! I still have to confirm the trip with Ishizu and Marik!] Running to the nearest phone, he punched in 'zero' for the operator. "Man, I can't believe I forgot!" Yugi muttered out loud.
\ Don't worry. I'm sure Ishizu and Marik are okay with it. \ Atem replied, speaking for the first time since the long trip to Domino.
/ I hope so! /
"Hello, Operator, how may I help you?" A cheerful, young voice asked from the other end.
"Uh, yes, hi. I was wondering what the telephone number is for 'The Domino Museum'....." Yugi said anxiously. [I hope Ishizu can see what's happening right now!]
"One moment sir." *Beep Beep* was the only sound Yugi heard as he was put on hold. After what seemed of hours of the same stupid noise, she returned, gave him the number and told him to have a nice day.
"Thank you. You've been a great help. Bye!" Hanging up, Yugi deposited a quarter and dialled the number to where Ishizu worked. [If she's there, there is no doubt that Marik will be there....]
That dialtone was beginning to get annoying. "Pick up damm--"
"--Domino Museum, this is Alexis speaking, how may I help you?" Another cheerful voice came from the other end, breaking Yugi's statement.
"Yes! Hi! May I speak to a Mrs. Ishizu Ishtar?" Yugi asked. [Please be there.....Please be there....] However, before the young lady named 'Alexis' could answer, the call was transfered to another line.
"Yes my Pharaoh?" Came the strong calm voice of Ishizu. [I was waiting for this call, Yugi....] She smiled.
"Ishizu?" Yugi asked, making sure that the person talking to him WAS in fact the person that he wanted to talk to.
"This is she. What do you want to ask me?"
"I'm here to.....uh......confirm the whole trip to Egypt to.....uh.....complete the ritual..." Yugi answered, saying the last parts very low so no one nearby would hear him.
"Yes. My brother, Marik, and I will be there. I shall be taking my own flight, but I will meet you there afterwards. Alright?" Ishizu said.
"Yeah.....Hey, does Shadi know about this?" Yugi asked, remembering about the other spirit that had the Key in his possession. [He does have to be there.....]
"Shadi was informed of this through me. He is waiting for us. Do you have the elements required?" She asked.
"You mean the Items and the God Cards, right?"
"Yes. And also the people....."
"Oh, then, yeah. I got the cards, my friends and family that are involved, but Shadi still has to give me his Key and Bakura still has to give me his Ring....and Eye." Yugi said proudly, but also softly so no one would hear.
A strong bad feeling passed through Ishizu at the mention of the boy who held the Ring. [There is something about that name.....Something bad about him....] No matter how much she concentrated, she could not pin-point what the bad feeling was. [If I still had the full power of my Necklace, I would have known....] Ishizu thought regretfully. This was the first time she thought about the Necklace in a long time.
"Uh, Ishizu? You there?" Yugi asked in the phone.
"Yes I am. Everything is fine for the trip. We--both Marik and I--will be there.....and Shadi will help you come to us. Understood, my Pharaoh?" Ishizu said, finally responding after the lengthy pause.
Nodding, Yugi smiled into the phone. "Okay, see you there! Bye!"
"Goodbye." The dial tone soon followed. Before Ishizu put the phone down, she began deep in thought. [There is something about that boy.....'Bakura'.....]
"Sister?" Marik Ishtar called from the doorway. "Who was on the phone? What did they want?"
"Yugi Motou. He wanted to confirm our plans of going to Egypt." The older Ishtar explained.
"Egypt? For......Oh.......You mean the Pharaoh will be put to rest once again?" Marik asked, understanding the reasoning behind the trip.
"Yes. That is if nothing goes wrong." Ishizu solomnly muttered.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not sure."
*~*~*Domino Train Station--Reader's POV*~*~*
The train finally came to a stop, and as soon as the doors opened, Joey and Tristan rushed out towards their friends.
"Mai! Elaya!" Both of them shouted. Almost tripping over their luggage and themselves, they pulled the two girls into a bone-crushing hug. "I've missed ya so much!" The two boys said in union.
"Okay, okay, we get it! Let go!" A muffled cry coming from Elaya shouted. Being able to breathe again, the girls smiled at the two boys that they let go one year ago.
"So, how was your trip?" Mai asked first.
"Awesome. Except that Tristan snores and talks in his sleep." Joey stated, nudging Tristan in the stomach.
"Do not! Shut up!" Tristan said back, pushing Joey away. Joey pushed him back. Then Tristan did the same. Then Joey did it. Before fists could fly, Elaya shouted. "I have a cold and am ready to sneeze on both of you if you don't stop."
Blinking, the two boys separated and smiled. "So, where's our ride?" Tristan asked.
"With me." Mai said.
"Oh no." Joey mumbled.
"What Joey? What's wrong with my driving?" Mai asked, getting in his face.
"Nothing!" Joey cried, waving his hands in front of his face defencively. [Stupid....Stupid...Stupid...]
"Nothing Joey? I thought that you said that she drives like a maniac....." Tristan smirked. [I so got you back there buddy!]
Turning around slowly, Joey stared wide-eyed at his friend, threatening to kill him if he said another word.
"Oh, a maniac? Fine then! You can find your own ride home!" Mai cried. Grabbing Elaya's hand, she pulled her away. "Come on, Elaya....let's go."
"But Mai--" Elaya started. [What a way to start a relationship Joey......idiot...]
"--No buts. No one that offends me gets away with it!"
"MAI!" Joey yelled over the crowds of people. "I'M SORRY!" Running, with Tristan close in step, he managed to catch up with both of the girls. Stopping in front of them, he blocked their path. "Mai, please? I'm sorry....."
"Hmph!" Mai huffed. "You should of thought of that BEFORE you commented on my driving!"
"But, uh, Mai, you do kinda drive wildly...." Elaya mumbled.
"What?! You too now?!" Mai asked, looking at her. [I don't believe this! Everyone is turning against me!]
"See? Even Elaya says so....So please? Do you forgive us? Can you still give us a ride home?" Joey gave her the saddest puppy-eyes he could manage-- something he was famous for. [If my puppy dog eyes don't work, I don't know what will!]
[Oh no. He's giving me the 'eyes'...] Mai thought. Giving up, she sighed. "FINE! I'll give you a ride home."
"Yes!" Making a fist and bending his elbow towards his face, Joey cheered.
"And if you think I suck at driving so much, Mr. Wheeler, you drive!" Mai said, handing him her keys.
[Uh-oh.....Mai used Joey's last name.....] Tristan thought shaking his head. [Does Joey even know HOW to drive a standard car? [1] Especially, MAI'S standard car.....?]
Gulping, Joey took the keys and followed the two girls towards Mai's car.
"Hey, Mai, why did you give Joey your keys?" Elaya asked quietly.
"For fun."
Bringing the two boys to the parking lot, Mai smiled, "Go on Joey, find my car."
"Gah! What?! There is about a million cars here!" Joey stood back.
"I know. That's why I suggest you start looking now." Mai smirked. As Joey went to every blue car in the lot, Elaya mumbled "...But we didn't park in the parking lot.....We parked on the street next to that parking meter....."

WOOHOO! Chapter 4 done!
[1] A standard car is a car where you have 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear--you have to put the car in gear while you drive (according to speed). In an automatic car, the gears change for you--That's why its called, "automatic"! Get it? *If I'm not right about the whole car definition thing, do tell...*
Alrighty, hopefully, I'll get the next chappie up soon! *Chapter Five will be updated hopefully by the weekend*
PS. If you find any spelling mistakes--tell me....I'm on 'WordPad' and it doesn't have spellcheck......
