Disclaimer: It's been two full stories, with over 50 chapters of the same disclaimer; do I really need to say it again? I DON'T OWN IT!

EXPLANATION: Okay, this is where the memories start. Some times, the characters will be on the side lines of the memory (like they just watch what's going on and are not seen/heard) and other times, the characters will be part of the memory (like role-playing; they'll see and hear only what their 'part' saw/heard.....) I know this is kinda confusing, but I'll make it really easy to understand! No one can change the memory. It kinda like a movie....you just watch it and see what happens..... **If you have any ideas for memories, please leave them in the review!**

If you have the time, PLEASE REVIEW!

Chapter #15: The Darkness Unfolds..... (II)

*~*~*Inside the Puzzle--Reader's POV*~*~*

"Yami Bakura?" A cold voice sounded from the entrance of the Pharaoh's mind.

"What is it NOW, Yami Marik?" Yami Bakura glared. [I'm getting real sick and tired from all his talking.]

"Do you notice that it is a bit stuffy in here?" He asked his 'partner', grinning. [Yami Bakura has made a mistake....How tragic and unpredictable....]

Not wanting to admit that it did feel like that, the white haired spirit snarled. "What does it matter? We have over ten people in here, with memories that could never fit in a single person's mind......Of course it would feel a bit crammed."

"They way I'm see it, it feels even more so."

"Fuck you."

"Why? Why can't you just accept the fact that you made an error in your planning and spells?" Yami Marik mocked.

"Fuck you." Yami Bakura repeated, obviously pissed off that his 'partner' was ridiculing him.

"I think I know what the problem is..." Yami Marik began to say, a smile forming on his lips.

"Care to inform me, you idiot?" Yami Bakura sneered. [I hate you.]

"That spell of yours....you know, the one to trap everyone in here? Well, because you used that other spell of gathering the memories just a short time earlier, it took effect again.....You see? Now everyone who is in here has their memories scattered around." Yami Marik explained, laughing.

"I fail to see what is so hilarious about this situation." Yami Bakrua muttered, turning away from the spirit of the Rod.

"You failed....that's what's so funny." Yami Marik grinned. "Here you thought you were the greatest criminal mastermind--ready to take down the Pharaoh all by yourself...."

Before he could let out another word, Yami Bakura laughed as realization hit him. It echoed so loudly, Yami Marik was surprised the boulders that held this place up did not crumble.

"That's the problem?!" Yami Bakura managed to say through spurts of laughter. "Because more memories are in here? That's it?!.....Yami Marik, you are the fool."

Yami Marik growled. [It appears that this Tomb Robber has found a solution to his mistake.....]

"With more memories, there is more of a chance for everyone to get lost. Get it?" Yami Bakura said, still smiling. He looked into the dark depths of the Puzzle where everyone was hiding--well, not hiding...more like lost. Yami Bakura smirked at the last comment his mind made. [That's right....they're all lost with no hope of finding their way out.....This could be interesting.....]

He walked forward, with Yami Marik following hesitantly, looking for all the stowed memories within the Puzzle. [Very interesting.....]

*~*~*In the Darkness--Atem's POV*~*~*

What was that? A searing pain entered my head as everything around me began to get very full and stiff. What's going on?! I couldn't see anything let alone figure out my previous questions. Something was coming into my head....a lot of 'something'.....

And what felt like a lot of 'someone'

A sharp crack of light came out of nowhere in my line of sight. A confused "Huh?" escaped my lips as the light began to get bigger and bigger.

Suddenly, all the darkness is gone. A bright light takes its place. Then, there was sand.

Lots of sand.

And a pyramid with a setting sun in the west. A tiny market with people was on my far right. Could me and Yugi switched places without my knowledge or consent? Turning around, I see none of my friends....none of OUR friends. Just sand. The only thing that looks living is that marketplace up ahead on my right.

Where am I? I thought I was in Egypt with Yugi and the others....

Slowly, I begin to walk towards the market in hope of answers. My attire is out of place, but no one seems to notice. They are too busy to notice when I ask them questions. As if I don't exist. What is going on?

"Thief! Thief! Get back here!" A loud masculine voice made me and the other people around me turn their heads sharply to the sound. A boy, no more than ten, dashes through the maze of people with a loaf of bread in his hands. The shopkeeper, a dark, burly man, was close on his heels. "Stop him! Thief!"

The thief kicks up sand and continues to dart people and objects. As he runs past me, a glimmer of a dark brown iris focuses on my eye--He can see me....but the boy continues to run away from the shopkeeper.

The boy looks painstakingly familiar. His face and body is shrouded in a cloak of white and blue.....except for that eye....The thief finally outruns the enraged shopkeeper as he, the shopkeeper, trips over a produce stand--sending fruit flying everywhere. The thief continues to run towards the setting sun. My instincts tell me to follow him. Maybe he can see me. Maybe he can answer me.

Moving around the other market goers, I follow that boy with the brown eyes. He knows that I am here when others do not.

But how?

*~*~*Inside the Puzzle--Reader's POV*~*~*

"Hello?!" Joey calls out as he awakes. "Yo?! Anybody?!" [Where the heck am I? It is pitch black and I'm all alone in here!]

"Joey?" A voice calls from behind him.

"Tris? Buddy? Is that you?" Joey asks, turning around to where he thinks the voice is coming from.

"Yeah, it's me....Where are--?" Something hard crashed into Tristan. "OW!" The crash was proceeded with two loud thuds as both boys fell to the ground.

"Why dontcha watch where your going?!" Joey shouted.

"How do you expect me to watch where I'm going if I can't SEE where I'm going?!" Tristan shouted back. Rubbing his nose, Tristan stands slowly. "Dude, where are you?"

"Right in front of you!" Joey answers.

"I know that!" Tristan cries. "Hold still....I'm gonna see if I can grab on to you..." He moves his arms out wildly, hoping to connect flesh.

"That's my eye!" Joey cries as pain stings the body part Tristan just poked. After a quick apology, Tristan latches on to Joey's arm. "This IS your arm, right?"

"Yes, it's my arm. What were you expecting?"

"Okay, we have no clue where we are, agreed?" Tristan asked to who he hoped was Joey.

"Yup." Joey answers, trying to see Tristan's face.

"We have no idea how to get out, agreed?"

"Yup." Joey repeats.

"Okay.....we're done-for." Tristan concludes, bowing his head in defeat.

"No no....Not yet. Tris, what was the last thing you remember before we got here?" Joey asked. [All I remember is walking in that tomb....then Marik had like a seizure....]

"Uh....I think we were in Yami's--or Atem's--tomb, staring at the pictures on the wall. Then, Marik started acting funny....then Bakrua was acting funny.....and then, it got really bright...." Tristan said, remembering.

"Okay, good. So we're on the same page."

"How's that gonna help us now?" Tristan asked. [Man...I wish it wasn't so dark in here...Hey! Wait!] A thought came to him at his mention of the bright light. He checked his back pockets while still holding on to Joey's arm. Pulling out his key-chains that he got from their shopping time hours before, he flicked on the tiny pocket flashlight attached.

"Hey! Tris, how come you didn't get that out sooner?" Joey asked, watching the little beam of light illuminate the area that they were in.

"I thought I put it in my luggage when we got back to the hotel. Then, I remembered that I ended up putting it in my pockets because I ran out of time." Tristan explained.

"Good one!" Joey complimented. "Where to?" What little light the pocket flashlight gave out, all they saw were stone walls.

"This is kinda freakin' me out!" Tristan said, hand shaking. [This reminds me of that horror flick I saw after exams....the one were the kids were lost in the dark and the ax murderer came out and--AH! Don't think about it!]

"Stop shaking the light!" Joey cried, growing flustered. [Come on dude! Get over yourself!]

"Sorry....Sorry...." Tristan mumbled, trying to get the image of a man wearing a hockey mask coming at him with a bloody ax out of his head. Suddenly, he saw a light....not his flashlight's light, but a brighter, whiter one. "Uh...Dude? You seeing what I'm seeing?"

"Please tell me that this flashlight of yours has adjustable sizes..." Joey stuttered out, perfectly aware that the light was not coming from Tristan. [Oh man....Am I dying?] A pulling motion came from the hand on his arm. [Is Tristan nuts? Why is he walking towards it?!] "No! Dude! Don't go into the light!"

"It could be the way out! You know, the light at the end of the tunnel?" Tristan reasoned.

"But what if that light is a train?! What if we're dying?!"

"That's a chance I'm willing to take Joey. Besides, we might be able to find the others!" Pulling his reluctant friend, both of them came closer to the light. Soon, an image appeared in front of them.

"Whoa...Are we..? Are we back in school?" Joey asked, looking around. Indeed, it was a classroom--with the black chalkboard and the rows upon rows of desks--but the kids sitting there were not wearing the Domino City Public School uniform. They weren't wearing uniform at all!

"Yeah....but not in our school...." Tristan answered, looking around. [This place looks nothing like Domino City.....If we're in a school, what school ARE we in?]

As both boys scanned the room, their eyes fell on the only recognizable face: Orange hair pulled up in ponytails at different heights all along her head and a pair of bright green eyes.

"Elaya?!" They both said at once.

*~*~*Meanwhile--Kaiba's POV*~*~*

I pick myself off the floor slowly. My head kills and I could really go for one of Elaya's aspirins right now. Great. Just great. I'm in the dark with no source of light. Just fucking perfect.

Feeling around for a wall, I smile as my hand connects with what feels like a stone wall. So far so good.

"Hello?" A voice echoes down the corridor that I was in. I stop to listen for it again, but it does not repeat. I know it came from behind me....maybe they'll get me out of here. Keeping my 'grip' on the vertical wall, I turn around and begin to walk towards where the voice came from.

"Anybody in here?" That voice....Elaya! "Elaya!" I cry to whoever was listening.

"Seto?" She asks.

"It's me. Where are you?" She never answers me. "Elaya?! ELAYA?!"

Nothing but silence. "Elaya?......Yugi?" I call out, hoping that everyone else was nearby. When I got nothing, I went to my last resort, "Wheeler?"

I'm all alone in this place....I have to get out of here. Taking my hand off the wall, I run as fast I as can into the darkness, not really caring where I'll end up.

A cold brut force knocks me off my feet. I just ran into something.....A pillar, maybe? Looking up, I notice that it's a brick wall.....But wasn't I in that 'Pharaoh's Tomb' a moment ago...? Where everything was mostly, sand?

No, my eyes have not mistaken me. It is a brick wall. And I'm in....an alley? Brushing myself off the ground, I walk towards the exit. A street of busy cars welcomes me. Is this Domino City? I recognized some of the buildings.....but I was in Egypt before.....What's going on?!

"Come on sis'! We gotta get home now!" I turn my head to see the body of young boy running slightly ahead of, what I'm guessing to be, his sister. Wait a minute....Blonde hair? Brown eyes? Is that the mutt and Serenity?

*~*~*Elaya's POV*~*~*

"Seto? You still there?!" I call into the darkness. "Fuck! I know you're there! Answer me dammit! Somebody! Anybody! For the love of God!" I don't get it. I think I'm hearing things....I could have sworn I heard Seto's voice a second ago! He was talking to me....then, he just stopped! What's up with that?

Grabbing the wall on my side, I followed it cautiously. And by cautiously, I mean like walking a millimeter, then stopping, then walking another millimeter and then stopping again. Get the picture?

Hey! Finally! Some light! The whole walkway appears to be getting brighter by the second! Yes! I gasp in surprise as I hear more voices, people and other things I can't identify. I have found a civilization! Yes! Running towards it, I notice all these statues that I've seen in my history class; of cats, Egyptian Gods......and.....You've got to be kidding me.....Is that a statue of Atem? Well, I guess the hair just spells it out, doesn't it?

Oh shit. I've traveled back in time! OH MY GOD! A girl's body walks around a corner wearing a long white robe with a gold colour around the trim. That's me! Or, Justi--miniature! She's probably no older than seven.....Hey, she's looking right at me! Her eyes are wide in realization! Can she see me? I'm about to call out at the top of my lungs "Hi Justi!" but that's when another girl's body follows Justi.

Dieen.

*~*~*Reader's POV*~*~*

"Yugi, are we in Egypt?" Téa asks, wide-eyed at the scene in front of here. Last thing she remembered was being in Atem's tomb.....then in the dark.....now, she's in front of a bustling marketplace; just a few miles south of this humungous palace. [That HAS to be where Yugi's darker half is....when he was actually alive and all....]

"I--I--I think so..." Yugi stuttered. [This is so weird! How can we be seeing these things?] He was grateful that he had found Téa in the dark; well actually, they both bumped into each other. Holding onto her hand-- making sure that they won't be separated--he couldn't help but think what lay behind that palace.....and what all of this had to do with Yami Bakura and Yami Marik. [If this is there plan, what are they trying to do?!]

"Yugi...Do you think anyone can see us?" Both of them looked around, glancing at people who were looking in their direction, but no one, absolutely NO ONE noticed them at all. [No one notices that we're dressed so...differently?] Téa thought, looking at her shorts and tank top and comparing it to everyone else's robes and dresses. [We're so out of place! How could anyone NOT notice us? I'm surprised they haven't booked us for witchcraft or something.....]

Yugi's Puzzle began to glow, and Yugi could tell it was itching to get inside the palace. "Téa?"

"Yeah?"

"We have to get inside that palace."

"Why?"

"I'm not sure..." Yugi confessed. "But my Puzzle is acting strangely towards it and I feel it too! There is something behind those walls that someone wants us to see."

"And who would that someone be?" Téa asked, somewhat knowing the answer. [Please not those evil creeps!]

"Yami Bakura and Yami Marik." Yugi put bluntly. "And whatever they hope to accomplish with us being in Egypt, 3000 years in the past, is beyond me. But we'll get through it together. Just don't let go of me Téa, don't let go."

Nodding, Téa followed Yugi out of the market. [I just wish the others were here....I hope they're safe...]

*~*~*Inside the Puzzle--Reader's POV*~*~*

The Millennium Key shone brightly enough for the two of them to find each other and to move around easily. Shadi had been looking at the stone walls for some indication of direction when Ishizu stumbled upon his bright light.

"Shadi, where are we? What are we doing here?" Ishizu asked. She had been quiet the entire time, following Shadi around since he knew where the dangers--or where all the memories--were.

"Ishizu, we are in the Pharaoh's mind. Your brother's corrupt soul has taken over again and the spirit that lives inside the Ring now lives outside in Bakura's body......they have brought us here for a purpose. One in which I believe is to steal the Pharaoh's power once we are all inside here." Shadi explained, not once looking at Ishizu.

"My brother..." Ishizu mumbled as she remembered that her brother's soul once again wanders the Shadows--possibly, where Bakura's soul is as well-- and that his darkest side has taken over again. "What is there plan? Why have they taken us in here?"

Shadi continued to look straight ahead. "There plan is unknown to me....But this place, the Pharaoh's mind, is favourable for them. They have the advantage of this place being so vast, with numerous hiding places and unclaimed territory to which the likes of us--or the Pharaoh--have never seen."

"How will we stop them?"

Shadi stayed quiet, unwilling to answer her. "Shadi? Answer me..." Ishizu was desperate for answers. She wanted to save her brother once again and hopefully, everyone else before his evil side harms them all. "Please....Shadi...." She stood in front of him, arms stretched out, forcing him to stop in his tracks.

"Your question mainly lies in 'How will we stop the evil in your brother'....I regret to inform you that I am uncertain. If we find the Pharaoh in this maze, I believe we can find our way back." Shadi explained. Ishizu, stepped down and stood to his right.

"Follow me." He led her down another passageway, trying to avoid the memories placed within the Pharaoh's mind.
