A/N: Hello! Yup, new story! My second fic! Hah! Anyways..Hope you like this! Here goes!

Prologue: The Prophecy

Albus Dumbledore sat there, perplexed.

In front of him was a massive collection of tattered scrolls, crumbling tablets, and tall stacks of books, threatening to fall. All had one thing in common: They all contain ancient prophecies.

It was quiet in the Library Mysteriis. Unusually quiet. Located in the abandoned end of Diagon Alley, it was the perfect place for aurors, professors, and Ministry workers to study and go about their business there, undisturbed. But during that particular afternoon, there was but one person, and an eerie silence hung about the air.

Muttering to himself, he sifted through stacks of entire volumes, looking for the information he seeked.

At long last, he found it, in one of the oldest books. "Ah! There you are, you little rascal," he chortled, with that trademark twinkle in his eyes. "Hiding in the old book of Prophecius, eh?"

The book was in Latin, but Dumbledore could read it as easily as he could read English.

The world shall be consumed in darkness,

In the morbid year of two thousand two.

The world shall live in terror,

But hope is on the way.

For in the year of nineteen hundred eighty-eight,

A dragon and lioness will be brought into this world,

Blessed with the power of The Sight.

This power bestowed upon them shall be kindle,

Seventeen years after their birth.

Though differences in body and blood will make them sworn enemies,

They will one day overcome their differences,

And become lovers.

But while they shall triumph over evil,

Be warned.

For they shall die by the dark powers of a jealousy gone awry.

God save them..

Hermione and Draco.

They are the world's only hope of bringing light into the darkness.

Dumbledore was no longer chortling, and the twinkle has long since disappeared into the dark pupils of his eye. He stroked his long, silvery beard thoughtfully, and focused his brain to try to come up with some kind of solution to help his two brightest students.

Nothing.

He sighed heavily, got up, and apparated back to his office at Hogwarts.

He started thinking again. Clearly, he thought, Hermione and Draco are going to go up against Voldemort. For in 2002, just as the prophecy foretold, Voldemort came back.

What troubled him most was not their predicted deaths, but the powers of The Sight. What was The Sight? He knew one thing though. Hermione and Draco are both seventeen, which means The Sight had already been kindled inside of them.

He vowed to find out everything he could about his prophecy, and help Hermione and Draco. He then smiled, bemused. Imagine, he thought. Two sworn enemies forced to work together.

With one last chortle, he got up and made his way out of his office, and down to the Great Hall for the beginning of school year feast.

An interesting year this will be, he thought.

A/N: Well, that was the prologue! Review and tell me what you think of it please! I'm dying to know!! Heh! Chapter One coming soon. Maybe a week..Hah. Well, until then!
