Lovers
He never touches her or kisses her. He is loyal to Patria, and she loyal to her husband.
But he sends her notes of thanks when she tells him things, little
notes written on fine paper that she tucks away in her ragged pockets
and remembers with. When she brings word of such and such a worker who
will join them, such and such a man who has guns--sometimes he repays
her for it by having a boy leave money on the doorstep. It's not
charity--it's the only sort of thanks her husband accepts.
They are the chastest of lovers.
