AN: Hey... Um... This is my first submission here... It wasn't written as a fanfic, but I think it can be used as one. So yes. Kudos to whoever gets the pairing here!
She stood, the light rain plastering her hair back until it was that indistinguishable color that wet hair becomes. The rain had washed her face until her freckles stood starkly against her pale skin, the weak moonlight reflecting off deep brown eyes. Her hands pulled her cloak tightly around her small form, shivering slightly in the November night.
He stood, shaking raindrops idly out of his hair. His mischievous grey eyes were half closed, watching the woman some ten yards away. He hesitated to approach her; she looked so beautiful in the heavily filtered moonlight, the clouds building overhead and the rain soaking her to the skin.
She knew the man was there, had, in fact, been expecting him in some backward fashion. Her cloak fluttered in the breeze now driving rain into her face, and she closed her eyes in annoyance. She waited for the man to make his presence known as she stood silently, her face tilted slightly to the sky.
He took a hesitant step forward, and then another, continuing in this vein until he was directly behind her. He touched her shoulder gently, turning her around to face him, watching her eyes with his own. He hoped that she remembered him, prayed it with every ounce of emotion that he had gathered in the past five years.
She reached her fingers gently to his cheek before sliding her hand down to his shoulder, watching his face nervously. She had dreamed about this moment for five years, but now that it was here, she felt awkward, out of place almost. She smiled very slightly, blinking raindrops out of her eyelashes.
He bent down, kissing her gently before scooping her into his arms. He sat down on the soaking wet grass, the rain pounding them, and just held her. He toyed with her hair, touched her face, ran his fingers along her clothes, trying to make sure she was real.
She reached up to touch his face again before snuggling down in his arms. "I knew you'd come back for me," she whispered, and he replied, "I love you."
