He steps closer, but I back away
He looks down sadly and I think of what to say
I never imagined it could be true
That he'd always wanted to say, "I love you."
My little inu who I love so much

Until a few moments ago when he said, "I love you."
"I thought you liked Kikyo, and I was just a dumb little girl."
He stopped and looked at me, his mind awhirl.
"At first I did, but I changed my mind."
He snorted and said gently, "How could I have been so blind?
You mean so much more to me don't you see?"
His amber eyes glowing, he whispered, "Do you love me?"
I wanted more than anything to blurt out 'yes!'
But I was just too speechless, I guess
