The Kiss of Death
As I sit and watch
And stand-alone
Waiting for the end to come
He stares right back
From a far
A evil gleam in his eye
My eyes shut tight
Waiting for the pain
As he lifts a deadly hand
Alone I stand
Against my death
But instead
Of pain I feel
A light gloved hand
Run down my cheek
My eyes open wide
To find him smiling
Secretively
Confusion spreads
Across my face
At his gentle touch
We are enemies by blood and race
Surely he must hate me
As I am supposed to toward him
Yet I don't
Could it be?
Uncertainly
He feels for me
In other than hate?
His caress on my cheek
Proves the emotion
He has is something other
Then hate
The touch is gentle
Cool against the skin
A shiver courses through me
As his hand runs down my chin
Then without a notice
His other hand around my waist
Pulling me close into his embrace
I do nothing to fight
As he leans down
To kiss
Me
My eyes close
Tasting him for what seems eternity
He pulls me closer
Into his protective hold
Hopefully never to let go
I smile into the kiss
Finally whole
Gently we part
Still smiling
I look
Into his face
To find something
Least expected
His face downcast
Unable to see his eyes
Afraid I become
Of what he has planned
As he looks down to me
I see such pain
Confused I wonder
If it was me
He says not a word
As a sheath is pulled
And a blade placed
Where my heart should be
Five words flow from his mouth
As it's pressed in
"I love you...forgive me"
My spirit flies
High above his saddened form
I fight the light
That brings me up
It wasn't supposed to happen like this
I loved him too
But now I'm gone
Already have I forgiven him
Yet I need to know
Why such a thing was done
The one above grants my wish
Sending me down in a bask of light
A look at him
With love
Surprised is he
Standing tall I ask him why
No reply comes from his lips
Instead
One tear from his violet eyes
Falls
I know why and slowly nod
One step I take
Then another
Soon to be I am in front
This time my hand
Touches his cheek
He looks upon me
Surprised
I smile
Much like he used to do
Secretively, mischievous
More surprise falls from his face
With one quick movement
My lips capture his own
His eyes fling open
From their once closed state
I always did love his eyes
But soon he relaxes once more
Pulling me close again
I melt loving the feeling of his arms
Around me
As we deepen into each other
My body feels numb
I begin to once more disappear
My spirit is what had stayed with him
But being called I can not fight
So he stands alone
Without me
Another tear
Falls down his cheek
I wish I could end
That pain he feels
Yet here I am only in spirit
I will wait for his time
No matter how long it may take
He'll not stand-alone
Never alone
