Love/Destiny-Final Fantasy X
Author's notes: First, I'd like to note that there is going to be five different versions of this up. The first is Final Fantasy VII, then VIII, then IX, then X, and finally, X-2. I would post them all together, but usually the Final Fantasy crossovers don't get a lot of attention, and I'd like this to be well known.
Second, I think there is going to be some serious OOC in the future. This is about the Great Ideas of the Earth, and I'd like the characters to be serious. I tried my best to keep them in character, but it doesn't always work out.
Third, most of the story is going to be talk. There isn't going to be too much moving around and description and all that. I'd rather this be about the idea itself, and not about the action in the background.
Now, onto the story. I hope you like it!
The air blew slowly around the girls, lifting their hair softly up into the air. Rikku sat, her arms over her legs, next to Yuna, whose eyes were closed in deep thought, and her body stretched across the Zanarkand lands.
"Yunie…Yunie, what are you thinking about?" Rikku asked, slightly forcing a small smile. She wondered what was going through her friend's mind.
"Him…love…Rikku, what do you think love is?" She lifted her head from its position on the ground.
"Well…it depends on what terms you mean. Lustful love…friendly love…or…love between two people, where the feelings go beyond those of a friend and expand upon lust. There are many kinds of love…" Rikku said dreamily, wishing she had someone to exchange passionate feelings with.
"How about…love between people? What would happen if…your true love wasn't real? Does that mean that there still is another person on the planet for you? Or was the unreal one the love that was meant for you? If they were, does that mean…that they will come back? Or were you destined to be apart?"
Rikku paused in thought, trying to come up with something to say, something that wouldn't bring Yuna to tears.
"I think…" she slowly started. "…that believing in destiny can bring nothing but pain. Yunie, no one is destined to do anything! That's the entire fruit of life! Being able to do what you want, when you want to! We control our futures, not Fate!"
"Um…" Yuna frowned. That wasn't what she was getting at, but…oh well. "Do you think…he has a future, even though he isn't real?"
"…I think so…yeah! Everyone has a future! Even him! Don't worry!" Rikku smiled ear to ear, leaping to her feet and running down the stony brick path towards Mount Gagazet. Yuna half smiled at her friend and climbed to her feet uncertainly, staring up at the stars, tears beginning to form in her eyes.
"Wherever you are…come back to me…Tidus…" One single drop of liquid fell to the ground, soaking instantly into the soil.
Author's Notes: So that didn't go as I'd planned…Rikku kind of took it off topic. But oh well…that's what Rikku does, I guess. I hope this was to your liking, everyone. I know that my work over the summer isn't exactly the best thing in the world, but I'll try to redo it once my inspiration comes back. Right now I've got homework from Honors English, and I've got my Gackt obsession, and my first-day-of-school outfit, and other side projects I'm doing. Not websites, but a Gackt story, and an original story that I had been working on, and getting lyrics. And learning Kanji has been a big priority of mine as well…::sigh:: I wonder if I'll ever have spare time again…I like having nothing to do…
