Chapter Two: Where's Tas?

"What are you doing Hermoine?" a red-haired guy asked her, as she was searching though the Griffendor Tower.

"I'm looking for the creature." She turned on Ron. "If you don't have anything better to do, then you can help me look."

"What creature?" Ron looked very confused. "What are you talking about?"

Hermoine realized that Ron hadn't been present when the strange child-like creature had appeared. Nor did he know where or what Harry was. "This little creature showed up when Harry and I went to visit Hagrid. He turned Harry into a dog and I haven't seen him since."

Ron looked at her for a moment, then he began to laugh and laugh. And laugh. "That's a good one Hermoine," he said when he could finally speak. "Harry a dog. Changed by a child no less." He couldn't help it, he began to laugh again.

"Ronald Weasley!" Hermoine started to lecture Ron, but then decided the situation was helpless and stormed out of the room.

Meanwhile Tas was looking through the Forbidden Forest (is that the right name?). He stopped to look through his maps incase he had one of this area when he felt himself lifted into the air. "This is kinda fun!" he shouted in glee. "I'm flying! Just like that time Uncle Trapspringer-- Ahhh!!!!" Tasslehoff was thrown by the Weeping Willow across the forest. He flew so far he reached Hogwarts. "Ouch!"

Tas looked around to see where he had landed. "Oh...pretty!" he had noticed a phoenix sitting near by. He reached out and soon there was a Falkies inside his vest. He continued to rummage through the office while the pictures on the walls were shouting at the little thief. Curious to see where else there was to explore, Tas wandered out of Dumbledor's office with Falkies and ouches full of odd objects.

As Tas was walking through the castle, a dog, formerly known as Harry, found him. Following nearby was Hermoine. "Hey you! Stop!" she shouted at him.

The kinder turned around, surprised. There was a trail of feathers behind him. "I didn't do it!"

"What did you do to Falkies?" cried Hermoine.

Tasslehoff looked at her with wide-eyed innocence. "Who? Oh! These feathers? Where did they come from?'

"What's under your vest?" she asked suspiously.

"Vest? What vest?" Tasslehoff asked in all innocence. "Oh! That vest!" He looked under his vest. "Oh! Hello birdie. How did you get there?"

"Is there a problem Miss Granger?" came Snape's voice.

"Of course not professor," Hermoine said quickly.

"I think I shall be the judge of that." said Snape smugly. "Let's see, bring a dog into the school, aiding in the abduction of the headmaster's phoenix." He seemed gleeful as he shook his head at her. "Tut, tut, tut Miss Granger. How far you have fallen." Suddenly he frowned. "Where did your accomplice go?"
