Disclaimer: Yup, I own 'Charmed'. Of course, that's in my world. In this reality, I own none of it.
Summary: "I'm not invincible. I never was. Because in the end, I'm only human. Nothing more."
A/N: Prue's thoughts/actions/feelings after Andy's funeral. Well, my version.
She slowly made her up the cement steps and opened the large door. Her head was downcast and she stepped upon the steps leading up to her room. The door was opened and a soft voice called out to her, "Prue? Prue, c'mon down here and have some tea with us." Her youngest sister, Phoebe, said while looking at her with eyes of sorrow. She shook her head and resumed walking. "It'll help to talk." She tried again. All of the pain and greif she had been holding in her poured out in a fury her sister had never seen. "How can it help to talk, when it hurts to breathe? You could never know the pain I am going through. You have never had the love Andy and I did!"
The young sister muttered something and fled out of the house bumping into Piper who was entering the house. "What was that all about? Prue?" She hesitated, "Sister stuff." "You wanna tal-" "No! I am so sick of yours and Phoebe's sympathy. It's my fault he died and you can never understand that!" "I know, but I'm sure I felt the same way when I almost lost Leo." "Key word there; 'Almost'. You still have him. Now, just leave me alone." Piper stood helpless at the bottom of the steps and she watched her sister run to her room. 'She was always the strongest.' She thought to herself.
She stumbled into her room as she fell on her bed. All her life she had to be the strong one. The one who looked out for others, make sure that they didn't get hurt, and she failed. She lost the one person who cared about her. He was the one who looked at her more then a witch or business women. She was his love and he was hers. He wasn't supposed to be there. He wasn't supposed to be the one to save her. He wasn't supposed to be the hero. He loved him and she had failed him. She curled up on her bed and burried her face into the pillow. She was tired of crying or maybe she was to tired to cry. Either way she fell asleep and all the pain and guilt and suffering went away.
She awoke the next morning to find her sisters standing in her doorway as she layed on her bed. She looked at them through blurry eyes and just said simply, "I'm not invincible. I never was. Because in the end, I'm only human. Nothing more." She glanced down at her hands and the tears she had held from the last night came streaming down her cheeks. Then, she felt the warmth of love from her sisters. They had silently walked over to their sister and layed down next to her. And for one minute, there was no pain in Prue Halliwell's life.
