Never Stopped Loving You
Piper Halliwell rolled over in her bed and shivered. " Leo, honey, it's cold" She knew he would be awake. Leo rarely slept. After all, he was a whitelighter, he didn't really need to sleep, but he loved to lay in bed with Piper in his arms. He loved to watch her sleep.
Leo pulled her blanket closer around her and held her more tightly in his arms. She was soon asleep once more.
Several Years Later
Piper Halliwell rolled over in her bed and shivered. " Leo, honey, it's cold" She knew he would be awake. " Leo?" Where was he? Had he orbed out? Was it a demon? Worse- maybe a darklighter? " Oh my god! Leo? LEO!?" Panic seized her, where the hell was he...hell? Had he gone down to the underworld? Suddenly, Piper remembered: Leo wasn't her husband anymore. She hadn't seen him since the day they had saved Wyatt. When their son Chris had been born. Leo was an elder. He wasn't her husband anymore. He didn't love her. The tears came now, just as they always did when she would force herself to remember. Piper sobbed desperately into her pillow. " Leo. Oh god, I still love you so much.
WHY?! What did I do? Why did they take you away? Oh, god Leo, I need you. I need you."
Leo had been watching her. He orbed down to her and took her into his arms.
" It's ok, honey. I'm right here. I still love you, too. I never stopped and I never will. It's alright," he murmured as she sobbed into his shoulder.
" Why, Leo? Why can't it work? Why can't you be with me? I just want you to be with me!"
" I know, honey. I know. It's ok, Piper. I'm here now. Everything's ok." Leo gently laid Piper down onto her pillow. She turned over and he began to gently rub her back.
" Will you be here when I wake up?" Piper asked, helplessly.
" Yes, I'm never going to leave you again. I promise."
" How?"
" The Elders made me a deal. Because I killed Giddian and righted the worlds, I get three requests granted. First, I asked to be a whitlighter again. Then, I asked to be your whitlighter, only. The Charmed Ones are my only charges," Leo explained calmly, still rubbing her back, soothingly.
" That's good. That's so wonderful and good!" Piper sniffled.
" My last request was that you and I could be allowed to be married again." Leo to ok a shaky breath as Piper turned to face him. He held out the engagement ring he had given her so long ago. " Will you marry me again, Piper?"
" Oh, god of course I will! What do you think I am? Insane?" She laughed through her renewed tears of happiness. Leo laughed and brought her face close to his. He kissed her lips softly.
He slipped her ring on to her finger. It was back where it belonged.
6 Months Later.
Piper Halliwell rolled over in her bed and shivered. " Leo, honey, it's cold" She knew he would be awake. Leo pulled her blanket closer around her and held her more tightly in his arms.
" I love you, my beautiful wife," he mumured in her ear. Piper smiled and hugged him tightly. " I never stopped"
