Teenage Love, Chapter Twenty Two .

.

. There was a clinking noise of a glass bottle and then the sound of a liquid being poured right by her ear. For a moment she lay there, trying

to be as still possible so who ever was walking around her would not know she was awake. There was a constant, slight pressure in her lower

abdomen that increased when she heard the water, and she quickly realized what it was. A very quiet snort slipped from her then a half sob from

someone close to her. She tentatively opened her eyes, her cinnamon hues looking at the hunched figure beside her bed. Draco had one of her

hands held in his large one, his thumb brushing against the back of it. His down cast eyes held such sadness that it nearly broke her heart to even

look at him. She knew she was the cause of his pain and she forced herself to stir, squeezing his hand gently.

"Draco?" She croaked, her voice husky from disuse.

His head shot up and he watched her with blood shot hues. He blinked several times, opening and closing his mouth in awe.

"Hermione...You're awake!"

"Of course I am silly. You didn't expect me to sleep the rest of my life away did you?" Her voice was tender, even though it was hardly above a

whisper.

"Madame Pomfrey said you were in a coma...She said you probably wouldn't ever wake up. You broke your fall with your head."

Her lips curled into a weak smile and she lifted her free hand to gently brush some of his golden hair out of his face. "Madame Pomfrey doesn't

know much then, because I am very much awake love."

His eyes widened slightly at her term of endearment and his grip on her hand tightened. "What did you call me?"

Mynee looked up at him, her eyes shining with adoration. "You know fully what I said Draco, and I meant it too. I love you. I wanted to tell you

that before the game..."

The hurt in his silvery blue eyes disappeared and a look similar to hers flooded them. He leaned his head down and kissed their entwined hands.

"I love you too, I thought I'd lost you...I don't think..."

She gently pressed her finger against his lips, effectively silencing him. "No, don't speak those words. I am here and I won't be leaving you." He

looked into her eyes and very gently brushed his lips against her forehead.

"You're right. You're never going to leave me."

At that exact moment Madame Pomfrey walked quietly towards her bed and let out a shriek when she saw the girl in the bed talking fondly to the

boy beside her.

"Ms Granger!"

She turned her head slowly on the pillow and smiled feebly to the mediwitch, suddenly wishing she was far away.

"Hello..."

"You...You are awake."

"Yes, that tends to happen after one is unconscious."

"But you were in a coma!"

"I think Hermione should rest Madame Pomfrey. I don't think it would be a good idea for her to pass out again." Draco interrupted.

The slightly haggard woman looked at the golden haired boy and nodded absently, her eyes slightly vacant. "Yes, yes of course...I need to go

inform the Headmaster of this."

"Madam Pomfrey?" Mynee said, gathering her strength up so her voice was loud enough to be heard.

"Yes dear?"

"When can I leave? I don't want to stay here." She did not want to mention the fact that she knew the mediwitch hated her deeply, or at least

was extremely uncomfortable around her.

The woman looked at her with a slight glimmer of fear in her gray eyes. "Perhaps soon." With that, she fled her own domain to find Dumbledore.

When she was gone, Mynee turned her face up to Draco. His brow was furrowed as he looked at the door. "Draco?"

"Mhh?"

"Draco, who won the game?"

He did not reply and she got a bit ticked. "Draco!" She squeaked, her voice high enough to grate against his ears.

"What??"

"Who won the bloody game?"

He looked at her for a moment then smiled, gently curling some of her hair around one of his fingers. "Hufflepuff. You caught the snitch right before

you fell."

She grinned slightly and looked up at the ceiling, her cinnamon eyes distant for a while. "Next game is against Slytherin..."

"And we are going to kick your ass."

"Yeah right...We're so much better then your team."

"Of course you are...I mean, you all got in on pure talent alone. Most of us were able to buy our way in." He looked at her face with dancing eyes,

knowingly quoting her from when they had fought in their Second year.

Her hues whipped away from a particular spot on the ceiling and looked at him in surprise. "You remember me saying that??"

"Course...It's not everyday you're put down by the girl you like!"

"Actually Draco love, I put you down pretty much everyday. You liked me back then?"

He grinned. "That's true..." His cheeks colored deeply and he looked at her blanket covered stomach. "I'm not sure if like is the best term. I could

sense that childish innocence in you and I wanted to be a part of it...I guess it is as close to liking as a twelve year old can feel."

Mynee smiled lightly him and closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them she saw the fear on Draco's face. She looked at him

questioningly and he blushed slightly. "I thought you had gone back into a coma."

"No, just closing my eyes for a moment."

"Are you tired? I'll let you sleep."

"No, no I'm not tired. I just felt like closing my eyes for a moment. I'm imaging the look on Snape's face when you kiss him.

Draco scowled at her for a moment and crossed his arms over his chest. "Thank you ever so much for reminding me..."

"You're welcome." She said sweetly, sleepiness creeping into her hues.

He noticed the tiredness on her face and gently touched her cheek with the back of his hand. It hurt him to see her like this. His Hermione was not

this exhausted, pinched face girl who lay before him. But when she smiled, he saw the real her sparkling in her eyes. His lips upturned slightly and

he brushed his lips tenderly against her forehead.

"I'll leave you to sleep love. You need your rest if you're going to return to the outside world any time soon."

She right then and there wished she could tell him what she was. The look of such caring sweetness on his face was almost too much for her. She

knew she would loose him once he found out she was a monster, no one would want to be close to something like her. She swallowed the sigh

rising up in her throat and nodded meekly, closing her eyes. Sleep quickly swallowed her and he watched her slumber, a guard against all the forces

trying to pull them apart.

Mynee was let out of the Hospital Wing a few days later and told by a rather skittish mediwitch that she was not to do anything overly

stressful for the next week and that she was excused from her classes for the rest of the day. The first thing she did when she got back to her

room was grab Crookshanks from his spot on the bed and nearly suffocate him in her embrace.

"I'm so sorry Crooks," she crooned "I feel like I've been neglecting you since I changed. Can you ever forgive me baby?"

The orange haired tabby looked up at her and mewled like a kitten. It probably helped her case that Vampyres and cats had a certain bond that

made then a little closer to each other. Their natural enemies, unlike Vampires, were dogs. She let out a little shiver and planted a kiss on her cat's

head, then sprawled herself out on her comforter, ignoring the layer of cat hair covering the material. She closed her eyes and let the walls

surrounding her mind fall. She reached out, searching for her familiar.

'Evi?' Her voice, though unheard by any mortal person in the castle, was heard by all the animals that were far more perceivable to those sort of

noises.

'Mistress?'

'Must you call me that love?'

'I know it is not necessary, but it feels right.'

'Even though I do not wish for you to do it?'

There was silence for a moment. 'Are you all right now?'

She sighed. 'Yes pet. I healed up quite quickly, but the damned mortal in the Hospital Wing refused to believe that I have a regenerative ability and

I was forced to stay there for far longer then I needed to. A plus though, I don't have to go to any classes today.'

'That is a good thing?'

'Yes. I have time to write in Merlin's Diary.'

'It is your diary though.'

'True, but I cannot help to think that it is still his daughter's.'

'You should ask what her name is. She could help you.'

'Maybe, it'd be nice to have someone to talk to.'

'You have both Draco and Furion to talk to though.'

'I know that, but I just can't trust anyone fully enough to tell them about what I am. I'm afraid.'

'Afraid?'

'I don't want to be hurt again.'

'That's why you don't want to open up to Draco?'

'Yeah, I'm afraid that he'll break up with me if he finds out about what I am. I feel as if I need to change...'

'Mistress, you should never change yourself for another. In your case you can't, but that is beyond the point. Part of being in love is exposing

apart of you, taking the chance that you might get hurt.'

(AN: Belgh, clichédness...)

'But I'm scared.'

'Everyone is. I'm going to go now. G'bye.'

His presence disappeared and Mynee shivered heavily for a moment. It was almost a natural reaction to the feeling of something leaving her mind.

She absently raked a hand through her hair and leaned over to the dresser by her bed. She opened one of the drawers and took out a quill along

with the diary. She took a deep breath and opened the luminescent book on her lap, nerves shaking. She quickly readied up her quill and scribbled

her name on the first page. The ink got sucked in and she got the horrible feeling of déjà vu as words began to form.

(AN: 'cause I can to italics, the crapola in '' are being written, kay? Jus' nod along me pretties...Gah, sorry about that PotC sounding bit, just

watched it...)

'Congratulations to you, Hermione Granger.'

'May I ask your name?'

'I suspect it is only polite that you know. My name is Katima Merlin.'

'I thought that was your father's first name.'

The words that were written next held a surprising amount of mirth. 'That is the last name of my family that was lost when I married.'

'So you aren't going to tell me what your father's given name was?'

'I do not see why it is relevant.'

'Fine. Then can you answer a question of mine?'

'To the extent of my ability.' It seemed as if there was a hint of sarcasm in those words.

'When I was in my Second year someone I knew found a diary kind of like this one. It turned out a fragment of a very evil wizard's soul had been

imprisoned in it. It almost killed someone.'

'I take you are asking as to how I am talking to you at this moment?'

'Guess so.'

'This book too has a part of my soul inside of it, but not enough to have kept me from entering the Realm of the Dead when my time came. And no,

I am not going to gather all the pieces, break free, and go on a killing rampage. I am merely here to give advice and bother you whenever you

write something particularly silly.'

'Oh, well don't I feel stupid. I'm going to go now...'

Just as she was turning the page, she saw a line of that neat script appear. A very quiet giggle slipped from her as her eyes caught the text

before it disappeared.

'Just like all the mortals before you! You can not say thank you! Damn...She's not reading...'

She shook her head slowly and began to write.

'My name is Hermione Granger and I am a Vampyre.'

That day ended quickly and when the new one was born, Mynee was woken up by someone leaping onto her bed and jabbering at her like

there was no tomorrow. She opened one eye and let out a soft hiss as vivid sunlight assaulted her optic nerves. She always felt like she was a

Vampire in the morning, the damn light always made her feel like her flesh was burning off in smoking chunks. Draco was bouncing around on the

foot of her bed like a man possessed, his silver eyes shining brightly.

"Rise and shine sleepy head! It's a brand new day and we have classes to get to! If you don't get up soon we'll on have two hours to eat

breakfast!"

The muscle under her left eye twitched. "Draco..."

"Why aren't you happy Hermione? I thought you just loved the mornings!"

She heaved a sigh and cradled her face in her hands, her early morning grouchiness fighting to be taken out on her chipper boyfriend.

"Draco, if you value your life as it is and a little part of your anatomy, get the HELL outta my room!" She shrieked at him, her eyes flaring red.

He raised one of his brows at her, a trademark Malfoy smirk crossing his lips. He leaned across the bed and ruffled her bed head. He quickly leapt

off the bed, narrowly missing being clawed on the arm by her nails. He laughed softly and just before he closed the door behind him, he spoke.

"You know, that piece of my anatomy isn't all that small."

"Draco!" She cried out in exasperation.

"Just thought you'd like to know."

"Merlin, you are such a perv!" She muttered darkly, crawling back under her blankets.

Class did not start for another two hours, which equaled another hour and a half of sleep for her.

What seemed like the blink of an eye later, someone was shaking her frantically. Mynee blearily cracked a lid and groaned when she saw

Draco.

"Dude, bugger off."

"Hermione! You have ten minutes to dress and get down to Potions!"

"What?!?" She screeched.

She hopped out of her bed and got her foot tangled in her sheets. She fell over with a thud and shouted out a colorful curse. He simply laughed at

her and freed her appendage, allowing her to spring up, collect some clothes and sprint to the bathroom. She shot out minutes later, her hair half

brushed, and grabbed her book bag. She looked at him with hazy hues, gasping softly for breathe.

"Let's go!"

He was shaking from the effort of silencing his laughter. She narrowed her eyes at him, planting one hand firmly on her hips.

"What's so damn funny?"

"We...We have..."

"We have what damnit?"

"We have almost an hour before classes start."

She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to control the anger welling up inside of her. That little muscle began to twitch as she took a book from

her bag and lugged it at his head. He caught it with the easy grace of a longtime Quidditch player and set it down on the floor.

"Now is that the way to treat your boyfriend?"

"How sure are you that you are still my boyfriend? You just woke me up in the middle of the damn night!"

"It's almost eight in the morning..."

"That's beyond the bloody point!"

"Actually..."

"If you want to keep all snogging and cuddling privileges revoked, keep your fucking mouth shut!"

He laughed softly and quickly clamped a hand over his lips, choking slightly. Mynee scowled darkly at him and strode towards him.

"Right, you have to kiss Snape after class. I'll make up a diversion or 'accidentally' leave a book in there. You have to snog him."

"Snog?"

"Yep...We'll probably both get detentions, but I don't really care. I stopped counting them years ago. And any way, it'll be so bloody worth it to see

his face."

It was Draco's turn to scowl darkly now. He went to grab the book of the floor, but she was faster and put her foot on it.

"Now Draco, is that anyway to treat your girlfriend?" She said, quoting him.

He muttered darkly under his breath as she giggled softly. She leaned down to pick up the book, unknowingly giving him a clear view of her

cleavage for a short moment. She heard him take in a sharp breath and looked at him in concern.

"You okay?"

He nodded mutely and motioned a little to her shirt, unable to really speak without squeaking. She looked down and gasped slightly. There were a

few more buttons undone then usual. She rapidly did them up, her cheeks barely taking on a pink tint.

"Whoops...I was in a bit of a hurry..."

He flashed a grin at her, now able to function properly when the beginnings of her breasts were hidden from view.

"I just didn't want any other guys seeing my territory."

"Excuse me? Your territory? When did my boobs become your territory?"

"Well..."

"Don't answer that you great prat. I'd rather not know."

She shook her head slowly at his wild smile and smacked him upside the head. "You won't be seeing those again. They will remain hidden beneath

my clothing not to be seen by any prying male eyes!"

"So they can be seen by prying female eyes?"

"Draco! What the hell are you insinuating about me you dirty little man?"

He just grinned evilly at her and tried to pull her into a hug. She evaded his arms and scowled fiercely at him, her twinkling in her eyes rather

diminishing its effects. After a moment she let the scowl melt into a grin and she simply hit him again.

"Stupid git."

"As I've been told love, as I've been told."

After a relatively long snogging session, the two of them managed to slip into Potions class moments before Snape stormed in, in all of his

batty glory. The potion they were supposed to make was Veritaserum and Mynee found it very hard to laugh like a maniac. She had made it over

the summer because she had intended to force her uncle to confess to her parents about what he was doing to her. Before the lesson started he

looked around the room with his usually cold sneer.

"Can anyone tell me what Veritaserum is?"

Her hand shot up.

"Anyone one at all?"

Her hand started waving frantically.

"Anyone but Miss Granger?"

Her hand stretched towards the ceiling in her eagerness to answer the question.

"Miss Granger?" He said wearily.

"It is a truth serum that makes the one who consumes it unable to lie for a certain period of time."

He looked at her for a moment and then stood in front of the class. He seemed to be in a rather pissy mood and she could hardly contain her glee.

She kept throwing glances at Draco, who had the cauldron next to hers, silent laughter literally rolling off of her in waves. The potion was easy

enough to create and when she added the last ingredient, powdered bicorn hooves, it changed for a vivid violet to completely clear. A satisfied

smile crossed her lips as she bottled it up and brought it up to Snape's desk for it to be graded. During the brief moment she was close to him, she

felt his gaze sweep over her form and she tried to suppress a disgusted shudder. A slight sneer crossed his lips, causing her to quickly turn on her

heel and stride back to her cauldron. When she sat down, she noticed Draco watching her with concern. He reached out and gently touched the

back of her hand.

"Hermione, why was Snape staring at you like that?"

"I dunno..."

He heard the slight quiver in her voice and his brows snapped together. He did not care that Snape was his Head of House; he was going to kick

that ex-Deatheater's ass.

"Draco no. Please don't make a scene. He hasn't done anything to me...Just looked." She decided against telling him about Snape kissing her that

time in the Room of Requirement; it would probably be quite a bad idea.

"But he looked at you like no teacher ever should."

She bit back a sarcastic retort. "Please, just let it alone. If he does anything to me I'll let you know so you can hurt him for me. Okay?"

He muttered in acquiescence and rapidly bottled his own potion. Mynee sighed quietly as she watched him go up to the desk and set the vial down

a little bit harder then needed. Snape scowled at him and Draco just flashed him that annoyingly cocky Malfoy Smirk. He strode back to the table

and wrapped his arm around her waist as if he was stating his territory. A slight snort escaped her lips as she pushed away from his grip and lightly

smacked his head.

"I know you feel the need to show your undying affection for me all the time, but not in this class? Knowing Snape he'll take of points for being

publicly intimate if he sees you with your arm around me. Stupid git..."

He chuckled quietly and started clearing up his work space. He had totally forgotten about his 'task' at the end of the class.

Just as they were leaving the room, Mynee clapped a hand to her mouth, her eyes widening.

"Oh bugger monkey, I forgot my bag inside. I'll be right back."

Draco remembered. "Noooo...Don't make me do it Hermione...Pleeease! I love you!"

She giggled quietly and let her eyes rest on him with a look of innocent confusion, her hues dancing. "What on earth are you talking about Draco? I

haven't the faintest clue about what you're talking about." She choked back a guffaw of laughter. "I'm just going to get my books then..."

He tried to give her the puppy dog eyes, but all she, not all that easily, focused her sight on the rough stone floor. She threw open the door and

crept in, her nerves running on a super high. She did not want to admit it, but she was close to terrified of Snape. She hid it well, but when it

came down to it, the man completely freaked her out on every level. She saw him look up, a deep scowl on his face, and it quickly disappear when

he saw who had entered his classroom. She shuddered and hurried towards the back, her eyes searching for the bag. Horror ran through her body

when she saw it was not by her bench. Time seemed to come to a stand still as she looked up and found that it was right by Snape's desk. She

closed her eyes and gulped quietly, her body shaking slightly. It figured that he would have grabbed it the moment she had left...She took a deep

breath and walked up to the desk, her cinnamon eyes unwavering in her act.

"Professor? May I have my bag back?"

He looked up at her with those soulless, purely obsidian eyes and smirked darkly. "You want to have it back after you left it in my classroom?"

"Yessir." She said, forcing herself not to stammer.

Her eyes flicked to the door momentarily, mentally cursing her boyfriend. He was supposed to be in the room already. Snape watched her and his

smirk morphed into a sneer.

"Do you abhor my presence that much Miss Granger?" His voice was mildly hurt, it so the opposite of the harsh turns of his lips.

Her eyes widen slightly and she opened her mouth like a dying guppy. "Sir, you're a teacher and I'm a student. It's expressly forbidden."

"If I wasn't your teacher?"

Mynee ran a hand through her hair. "Sir, I have a boyfriend who I love with all of my heart. I don't wish to hurt your feelings, but even if you

weren't my teacher, I still wouldn't do anything."

Snape's rather sad face disappeared as anger replaced it. "You love your little 'boyfriend'? You're a teenager, how can you know what love is?"

Her eyes flared red and she clenched her hands into fists. How could this man have the audacity to think she could not know what love was simply

because she was young? "Listen up, Snape, leave the fucking hell alone. I love him and he loves me as well. If you don't stop stalking me and

trying to jump me, not only will he kick your ass, but you will find yourself bereft of your life blood faster then you can say Parseltongue."

Draco came in just in time to hear his girlfriend's last comment. He took one look at the way she was standing and how close Snape was to her

before storming in.

"Snape, what the hell are you doing to my girlfriend?" He snapped, his silver eyes blazing with anger.

The professor jerked his face away from her and scowled at Draco. "Nothing Mr. Malfoy. Twenty points away from Slytherin for your impertinent

tone. Here is your bag Miss Granger."

He handed her the worn out leather bag and she snatched it away from him, edging away behind Draco. The two of them quickly left the

classroom, Mynee the only one who felt his lust heated gaze. She knew it would not be the last she saw of Severus Snape.
