In the End
Sometimes I wish I could go back and make sure she lived. I've been protecting her forever, but this time I failed to do so. I realize now that I loved her. She gave her life to save mine. His death did nothing to bring her back. So now I face my last year alone.
After sixteen years of being together, I finally have to be on my own. Grief racks my body every second with every painful breath. Everyone is sad. After loosing the two of the most important people in my life, I just want to slip quietly into death after them.
Ginny Weasley watched the hunched back of her brother's best friend. She knew Hermione had saved Harry, unfortunately Hermione meant more to him that life it's self. Harry never deserved two deaths in under two years. First his god-father, Sirius then his best friend, Hermione.
Ginny moved forward, stretching out her hand she whispered, "Harry?"
Harry turned sharply, caught her hand and pulled her against his back. She dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "I miss her Ginny, and I don't want to loose anyone else," Harry murmured.
Ginny saw a tear fall onto the leg of Harry's jeans. "Don't cry Harry," She whispered. "I don't want to see you in pain."
Harry watched the ripples form on the lake. "I didn't want to come back this year," Harry said turning his green eyes to her face. "But I have to protect the rest of you."
Ginny smiled weakly, Wrapping her arms around his waist and laying her head on his shoulder she whispered, "He's dead Harry, you don't have to protect anyone else anymore."
Harry shook his head. "There are other people out there that will come after the ones close to my heart," He placed his hands over hers. "Sirius, Hermione, mum, dad, your mum and dad, and people that didn't deserve to die are dead," Harry muttered. "You and Ron are the only family I have left Ginny," Harry whispered even softer. "Let me protect you."
Ginny nodded.
Harry gazed back across the lake. He still had Ginny, and things would be ok. He would see Hermione and Sirius when he died. For now he would take care of the people left in his life.
He felt peace after the storm a year later. He died in his sleep, peacefully, unlike the way many people thought he would go. He left everything to Ron, Ginny and the people of the Order. So ends the story of the Boy-Who-Lived.
A/N: I thought this is how it would end. Some one would save his life; he would realize what he still had and all that. I didn't want to put the disclaimer at the beginning I just wanted to get into the end. So here it is. And you don't have to review this one, because this is all I will write.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything of Harry Potter.
