Chapter 6
"Andi, there you are." Major Carter says looking in the room that had become Andrea's sanctuary since she joined the SGC.
"Here I am." Andrea says looking up from her notes.
"My father is coming with some information. Everyone else is busy, would you like to come?" Sam says walking into the room, surprise to see that it is clean again.
"Yes, Selmac will want to see if I'm still alive." Andrea grins. Sam laughs.
Jacob and Etan step through the gate into the SGC. Sam and Andrea stand waiting for them.
"Hey, Dad." Sam says reaching to hug him.
"Sam." Jacob hugs her.
Seeing Etan, Andrea's face lights up, she runs and hugs him. "Etan!"
"It is great to see you again, Andrea." The young man with deep brown eyes and long brown hair says.
"You too, I'd like you to meet Samantha Carter." Andrea says blushing.
"Etan, Sam is my daughter." Jacob says letting go of Sam.
"Of course, Jacob. It is a pleasure to meet you." Etan says noticing Andrea seems well and recognizes that Jacob and Sam have the same name.
"You too, Etan." Sam says recalling Andrea speaking of Etan.
"Dad, Andrea and I have a surprise for you." Sam smiles.
Daniel stands in the conference room window looking down. Daniel frowns when he sees Andrea hugging an unknown man.
"Dr. Jackson are you ok?" Martouf asks noticing Daniel's frown.
"Sorry Martouf I got distracted." Daniel says turning around.
"It's okay I understand." Martouf say with concern for his friend.
"Uh Jacob and someone else are here." Daniel says motioning to the gate room.
"Then they will be coming in here then." Martouf says, standing up to be ready when Jacob Carter and Selmac see him.
"Yes, I guess they will." Daniel says looking a little melancholia.
"Dad why don't you and Etan go in first." Sam says grinning at her father who knows something is up.
"Sam and I will follow you in." Andrea smiles at Etan.
"Come on in Jacob!" Daniel says from inside the conference room.
Jacob walks into the room and sees Martouf. "Holy Hannah." Selmac takes over to greet an old friend. "It's very good to see Martouf."
"You as well Selmac." Martouf looks at the two men and smiles.
Etan walks into the room and Dalk his symbiote greets Martouf. "It is good to see you brother."
"It has been a very long time Dalk." Martouf says walking to Embrace Etan.
"You didn't say they knew each other." Sam says looking at Andrea who is grinning from ear to ear.
"I have known Martouf since Lantish took him as a host." Dalk says while Etan smiles.
"You've been very bad Andrea." Selmac laughs.
"Yes, I have. Don't you think Sam?" Andrea says looking over at the Major.
"You're not bad Andi; you just like to pick on Jack." Sam says grinning still.
Etan turns to Andrea. "Is Martouf who you were hiding in the caves." Etan returns to normal.
"Yes." Andrea says frowning because he knew what she was doing.
"Caves, more like caverns." Martouf say looking at Etan.
"You could have told me, Andrea?" Jacob says looking at Andrea.
"I was not alone and Lantash did not return with me as well." Martouf says showing his emotional response to losing Lantish.
"That wouldn't have mattered." Selmac says looking Martouf's grieving expression.
"It was important that we take care of Anubis." Daniel says looking at everyone.
"Daniel's right." Andrea says looking at Jacob.
"I cannot explain what is a mystery to me." Andrea says realizing the statement is vague corrects herself. "I felt that getting Daniel settled in first was best."
"Can you bring back Lantash?" Selmac asks looking at Andrea if she could it would be a small miracle for the Tok'ra.
"I don't know. Best I think would be to bring back Lt. Elliot, his last host. I just wake up and usually find the staring at me except Kawalsky of course. I don't do anything to bring people back home." Andrea says trying to answers his question.
"None of us remember where we were once we leave either." Martouf says furthering the mystery.
"How did you get there?" Sam asked.
Andrea's for head wrinkles a bit. "I don't know. I try to remember, but I cannot. It's strange that we remember the place but not how we got there or how we left."
"It's like our memory was erased Sam." Daniel says feeling a little violated.
"Andrea had her moments in the palace when she was disconnected for a few days. She would leave and upon her return she was fine."
"Have you tried the memory device I gave you?" Jacob says wondering if it was possible to bring it up.
"Yes, it does not work on any of us when we try to use it to recall the place." Martouf says looking at Andrea.
"Hmm." Daniel thinks.
"What is it Daniel?" Andrea asks looking at him interested.
"Something Shifu said." Daniel looks as if deep in thought.
"Sha're's son?" Andrea asks trying to be sure.
"Yes, sometimes it is better not to remember." Etan says giving out advice.
"More like better not to know?" Andrea sits in a chair leans back and closes her eyes.
"What is Andrea?" Etan looks at her intently.
"Just trying to think." Andrea says opening her eyes
"Could the Ascended have something to with it?" Sam asks recalling their experiences with the Ascended.
"It would not surprise me." Daniel says believing that it is possible since he was one for a time.
"Dr. Jackson do you remember what Andrea said when you woke up?" Martouf asks Daniel believe it may help.
"Are you talking about 'A plan greater than those who carry it out' or 'fight for others.'" Daniel say recalling several things he and Andrea said that day that he could remember.
"'A plan greater than those who carry it out.' That sounds like something Oma would say doesn't Daniel." Sam says wondering why Andrea would say that.
"Yes, it does." Daniel affirms.
"I though they didn't get involved." Jacob says looking at Daniel for confirmation of his statements.
"They don't. Do they Daniel?" Sam asks.
"No, not at all Jacob. Who else would do this?" Daniel asks looking at Andrea this time.
"Selmac says there is no else known to the Tok'ra who could do this." Jacob speaks for his symbiote.
"I can ask Thor during our next Meeting." Andrea says sitting forward.
"Do you really think Thor would know, Andi?" Sam asks.
Andrea shrugs her shoulders. "No, but I can ask."
"Andrea show Selmac your necklace." Martouf looks at her.
Andrea removes her necklace and hands it to Jacob. "Redemption: Mother of the Future" Selmac translates the writing on the back of the necklace.
"Andrea, it is definitely for you." Etan says looking at her a little excited.
"Etan don't." Andrea looks at Etan, a little upset.
"What do you mean, Etan?" Sam takes the necklace.
Andrea tries to explain so that Etan doesn't give away her secret. "It's what those whose oppose Kek call me."
"Trying to repay the guilt you feel, even though it wasn't your actions that cause the guilt. Andrea we cannot feel guilty for actions that were not ours." Daniel says looking at her wondering still what kind of burden she carries.
"I Could have stopped it." Andrea shouts.
"You don't know Andrea." Etan looks at her upset.
"I was just as responsible. I allowed death to take place that is a burden that can never be repaid." Andrea stands up. "Excuse me I have papers to work on."
"Andrea wait." Daniel tries to go after her.
Etan grabs Daniel's arm. "She needs time. No one here can understand what it is like to kill someone with your own hands and not stop it, having no control over your actions."
"I think I have some experience." Sam says correcting Etan.
"I cannot tell you what makes her experience difference from any other host of a Goa'uld, only she can, but the pain she carries is devastating." Etan turns to Sam and corrects her.
Daniel looks at Sam and Jacob. "She said she would tell me if it was important, we have to give her respect."
"Daniel's right Sam. You have to respect that she knows what is important. She knows more than any of us." Jacob says looking at his daughter feeling the same distress that she feels for their friend.
"She should know that we can help." Sam says looking at Daniel.
"Andrea knows you can, she's holding back for a reason." Martouf says.
"Dad said you had information us." Sam says ready to work.
Standing at the gate map, General Hammond, O'Neill, Kawalsky, and Dr. Milton mark off different planets.
Andrea looks at the map. "This is Kek's," pointing to a system on the map.
"The whole system?" Jack looks at her with surprise.
"Yes, some of the moons are colonized." Andrea says stepping away from the map.
"Jack, this is Ritzo." Kawalsky says pointing out the planet he has been too.
"The gate is unguarded, however Jaffa are in the area." Andrea explains the situation on the planet.
"Major Kawalsky, would you say it's possible for a mission there?" The General asks know that they might have allies on the planet.
"Not now." Andrea looks at Kawalsky.
"Why?" O'Neill asks.
"We blew the Jaffa barracks to hell." Kawalsky says grinning.
"You what?" The General looks at them surprised.
"We were helping rebels." Andrea says tugging on her hair.
"I see." Jack smiles at the thought of the two blowing up the Jaffa's quarters.
Andrea walks up to the Map again. "See Jack you like me. These here are protected planets." Andrea points to several planets on the map. The Asgard want to know before you go to any of them."
"What Thor wants a gate plan?" Jack asks looking at her raising his eyebrows.
"Yes Jack." Andrea says shaking her head.
"Why Dr. Milton?" General Hammond ask wondering what the Asgard needs with mission reports if they go to those worlds, this being the first time they ask.
"So the team going to the planet can be briefed by me." Andrea says hoping that it is enough explanations.
"Is this for all protected planets?" Jack asks looking at the map.
"No, General just these. Thor would also like to know when your next meeting with the others who know about the gate is." Andrea says looking at the General, knowing Colonel O'Neill hates politics.
"Not for a few months, I will let you know." The General says glad the Thor is interested in coming to the next meeting with the Allies from other countries on Earth.
"Thank you, sir." Andrea says returning to comfortable spot next to Kawalsky.
"George." Jacob enters the room.
"Hello Jacob, what news did you bring us?" Hammond looks at his friend who is smiling.
"Anubis is beginning to rebuild his forces." Jacob says in a very serious tone.
"That was fast." Kawalsky says looking the Jacob.
"Too fast, the Tok'ra Council has been watching his movement and want to know if the SGC will help if needed in the future." Jacob walks over to Andrea.
"We always have, Jacob. Is there something else you know?" Hammond looks at Jacob concerned that something else is wrong.
Jacob smiles, trying to lighten the mood. "I came to congratulate you on destroying Anubis's ship. And bring Etan to see Andrea." Andrea grins at Jacob.
"Will Martouf be returning with you?" Andrea asks not wanting to lose Martouf so soon but understanding that he must go.
"Yes, the High Council is going to be ecstatic. They will want to speak with you Andrea." Selmac speaks.
Jacob hugs Sam, while Martouf and Etan says goodbye to Andrea. "Don't forget to come see me."
"We won't." Sam and Andi says as Jacob walks up the ramp.
"I'll miss you. Both of you." Andrea says looking at Etan and Martouf.
"I'll miss you too, Andrea." Etan says hugging Andi tight.
"I will miss you and Samantha very much." Martouf says looking at Sam.
"Just be careful." Andrea says looking at Martouf.
"We will." Etan replies, walking up the ramp as well.
"Etan protect my investments." Andrea says watching Him leave.
"I will." Etan steps through the gate.
"Goodbye Jacob. Selmac if you need information let me know." Andrea says looking at Jacob as Martouf goes through the gate.
"We will." Jacob walks through the portal.
