Chapter 10
Andrea steps through the gate with Kawalsky, followed by Grogan and Jonas. Andrea steps down standing perfectly still. Daniel and Sam step out of the gate and come down the stairs, Jack and Teal'c come out and do the same, and the gate closes behind them. O'Neill and Kawalsky walk up to Andrea.
"So now what?" O'Neill stands next to Andrea waiting for an answer. Andrea remains still and doesn't answer.
"Kawalsky to Milton, come in Milton." Kawalsky waves his hand in front of her face, looking a little worried. O'Neill does the same.
Jonas walks up to the group with a question. "Dr. Milton?"
Andrea turns to Jack. "Run, to the right!"
O'Neill looks at her questioning her order. "Why?"
Andrea continues to stand in the same spot with everyone looking at her. "Run! Go NOW!" Andrea shouts as she breaks into a full blown run, passing Daniel and Sam heading into the woods.
Everyone begins to follow her but Teal'c who is watching something. Running behind Andrea, Major Carter asks a question. "Colonel what's going on?"
Teal'c catches up to the head of the group. "O'Neill there are Jaffa headed toward the gate."
Kawalsky looks at Teal'c. "Holy Crap!"
Andrea races ahead weaving between trees like she knows the territory. The group falls from behind. "Keep running!" Andrea stops then continues to run.
Daniel catches up to Andrea. "Where are we going?"
Andrea races past a trail. "A hiding place, The Jaffa heard us come through the gate.
Grogan catches up. "I guess it's a good thing we got out of there, Dr. Milton?" Grogan continues to run behind Daniel, Jonas and Teal'c follow.
Andrea slows down to a walk and leads them through the forest as it gets thicker. "You have no idea." Andrea begins to lead them through very thick and tall underbrush.
Sam follows behind her. "Where are we going Andrea?" Sam looks back; O'Neill how shrugs at her.
Andrea remains silent leading them up to high brush against a rock face. "We are here, quickly." Andrea holds the brush back from the rock wall and reveals an open hole which could get everyone into the cave with easy. "This way." Andrea says walking into the cavern leading them down a set of passages.
Kawalsky whistles. "Nice place."
"Thanks Kawalsky." Andrea says from the head of the group.
Daniel who turned on his flashlight inspects the walls. Jonas behind him does the same. "These are the glyphs from your notes."
"If I could study these?" Daniel says holding up the group.
"Yes they are Jonas, maybe later Daniel." Andrea leads the group a little down the passage then turns to Teal'c. "Teal'c can you turn that rock?" Andrea points to a large rock inside an indented hole in the cave wall.
Teal'c steps forward and turns the rock. O'Neill standing next to him watches. "Neat." A hidden door opens to a dusty room filled with furniture and documents.
"Let's just get on the other side." Andrea waits while everyone enters the room.
"You bet." O'Neill says giving her a smug look. Andrea is the last one in the room and turns a rock on the wall of the inner chamber.
"It looks like know no one's been here in months." Jack says looking around the room.
"That's because no one has been here for months." Andrea takes off her gear and sets it down on the floor in against the wall.
"You saw the Jaffa coming didn't you?" Major Carter says looking around then at Andrea.
Andrea ignores the question. "Daniel you should see this." Andrea walks over to the left wall. Andrea turns a rock on the wall and the rock face pulls up revealing a cabinet full of scrolls.
"What are they?" Daniel asks pulling out a scroll.
"Records. Sam you should see this." Andrea hands the scroll to Sam.
"So what exactly is this place?" Jack asks standing against the back wall.
Sam opens the scroll and looks shocked. "This is a complete diagram of a DHD."
"Who did all this Dr. Milton?" Jonas asks pulling out a scroll.
"This is a hiding place. The great grandfather of one of the villagers built this place and made the scrolls." Andrea walks over to the wall next to O'Neill and slides down into a seated position.
"What is in these other scrolls?" Sam asks pulling another out. Kawalsky, Grogan and Teal'c remain quiet.
"More diagrams feel free to poke around it's going to be a while before we can get out." Andrea says then looks at O'Neill. "For now we wait."
After two hours of sitting in the chamber O'Neill was ready to go. It was obvious that this world was infested with Jaffa and wasn't safe. Andrea stands up and stretches her legs then her shoulders. "So who wants to go with me?"
Jack stands up and looks at her. "Where?"
Andrea looks at Jack. "I need to check it out? Kal'vek is here. I need to know if Kek is as well."
Daniel looks up, with a worried glance. "Is that likely?" Kawalsky steps forward.
Andrea turns and looks at straight at Daniel. "Yes." Andrea reaches for her pack and grabs her zat, and pulls out her ribbon device.
Kawalsky looks at her worried. "Are you expecting trouble?"
"Don't I always expect trouble?" Andrea walks an opens the door.
"Teal'c and I will go, the rest of you stay here. Kawalsky, you and Carter are in charge." Jack grabs his P-90 and follows Andrea out the door. Teal'c silently follows them both out of the room.
"This way." Andrea shuts the chamber from the outside.
Andrea leads O'Neill and Teal'c through the dense side of the forest. She remembers the paths well even though the trails were gone now. Walking silently she turns to O'Neill. "These used to be paths to the cavern. They haven't been used in a very long time."
O'Neill looks around and turns back to her walking next to her. "You seem to know them pretty well."
Teal'c walking on her other side also paid attention to the trails. "Indeed, the extensive network of paths is over grown." Teal'c stops and listens. "There are people ahead."
Andrea stops and listens as well. O'Neill stops to listening to the sound of children playing. The group quickly moves spy on the children. "See those Jaffa?"
"Indeed." Teal'c says watching the two Jaffa, watching the children.
Jack looks from the children to the Jaffa. "Yes, why are they standing there?"
From her position behind a bush she turns to O'Neill. "They're watching the boys play. I'm guessing they are to make sure they aren't hiding any more rebels or me!"
Teal'c looks at Andrea and O'Neill. "What is it you need to do?" Teal'c anticipates that she wants to talk to the boys.
"I need to get a message to that boy in blue." Andrea points to a blonde headed boy in a blue tunic play with two other boys in red and brown. "If you could distract the Jaffa, while I talk to him."
Jack looks at her. "How much time do you need?"
"Give me five minutes after the second round of bird calls." Andrea looks at the boys tossing a ball then back at O'Neill.
Teal'c tilts his head. "What kind of bird?"
"Robin. The boys will create a small distraction at first then you should follow suit." Andrea moves around to the other side of the clearing. Andrea lets out a series of robin calls attracting the boy's attention. The boys begin running around the Jaffa confusing them. "Jack NOW!"
The boy in blue runs to Andrea. "Hello, Angel."
Andrea frowns. "Ton, I told you I'm not an angel."
Ton grins. "I know. He's here for you."
Andrea leans down. "Who Ton?"
Ton's expression turns worried. "The god Kek."
Andrea touches the boy's shoulders. "Are you sure? Have you seen him?"
The boy frowns at her. "No, but father has."
"Okay, Ton tell your father and only him that I'm here. Tell him to get an audience with Kek. While before Kek, your father should ask to be alone. Your father must tell Kek that I am in danger, that someone tried to kill me." Andrea lets out three robin calls.
Ton grins as he speaks. "Okay, princess."
Andrea grunts angrily. "Ton, Go!"
"I am." The little boy runs away into the clearing.
Andrea turns and runs farther into the forest. O'Neill and Teal'c run up to her. "Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine." Andrea says walking toward the cavern again. "Kek is here. Most likely he is in a Ha'tak. We should get back to the caves. I'll be safe there."
Teal'c says from behind her. "Indeed that would be most wise."
"You're back." Kawalsky says standing up when the door opens.
"Yes, we are." Jack says entering the room first, followed by Andrea and Teal'c who raises his eyebrow.
"What did you find?" Sam asks looking up at them from the scrolls she is studying.
Teal'c tilts his head and answers. "Two Jaffa warriors and three small boys."
"Kek is here." Andrea blurts out.
Daniel looks at her worried. "Are you sure?"
Shaking, Andrea answers quietly. "Yes."
"The gate is guarded now." Jack says setting his P-90 down.
"Great we're stuck here." Grogan says from his position on the floor.
Andrea annoyed by Grogan's comment, retorts. "No, you could leave. I could go with Kal'vek."
Jack, Daniel and Kawalsky turn to her in amazement and reply in unison. "Absolutely not."
Daniel looks more distressed than Jack or Kawalsky walks around the table and stands in front of her. "Why would you do that?"
Andrea looks at Daniel more subdued. "So you could go without a battle."
Kawalsky stands next to Daniel, watching Jack whose temper is rising. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Andrea, we are all capable of fighting." Jonas knew the chances were good of getting to the gate and back to the SGC.
Sam looks at her concerned at what Andrea is hiding. "Jonas is right Andi."
Jack finally calm, turns to Andrea. "The hell I hand you over to that bastard. Thor said to keep you safe that is what I intend to do."
Andrea turns to face Jack. "Colonel, don't you think I know that!"
Kawalsky grabs her and shakes her. "I'm not leaving without you."
"I know, there maybe a time when you have to." Andrea says with a foreboding tone.
"What is that suppose to mean?" Jonas asks her looking at her with interest.
Andrea realizing what she said thinks for a moment. "I mean Jonas that someday something might happen." Andrea turns to Jack. "Before we make a break for it let's wait for Tonner, and see what he has to say."
When the stone door opened everyone stands up ready to fire. Several guns cock while Andrea's zat receded. A thin man walks through the door. "My Lady," he questions looking at Andrea as the door closes.
Andrea steps forward and stands in front of Tonner who walked into the room. "It's alright. This is Tonner the village Leader. Tonner these are the people from my home world."
Jack looks at the man standing in the room and examines him from top to bottom. "Were you followed?"
The man looks at Jack angrily. "No, we keep this place a secret."
"Did you get an audience?" Jonas asks looking at the thin man. Andrea has explained her instructions to the boy when they had returned.
"Yes. He is very upset, angry and worried." Tonner turns says looking at Andrea with concern.
"Was Kal'vek present when you were before Kek?" Daniel asks with interest in the man who shows concern for Andrea.
Tonner straightens himself. "Kal'vek was present for a while, and then he was ordered to leave. Lord Kek believes you are in danger. He said he would personally come and get you. He wants to take you home."
Jack shouts. "Over my dead body!"
Tonner pleads with Andrea. "My lady he will not stop until he has you."
Andrea hears a voice whisper in her ear. "What are you afraid of?"
"I understand that Tonner." With quick action Andrea pulls out her zat, spins and fires into thin air.
Kawalsky standing behind Andrea looks shocked. "What the Hell? Andrea are you trying to kill me!"
Andrea examines the room. "No, we have a visitor."
Sam and Jonas look at her. "Where is he Andi?"
Shaking Andrea stands firm. "Kek reveal yourself."
A shimmer and then a tall young man appears in the middle of the room. Grogan fires a round at him. Kek falls to the floor and roars. O'Neill shouts. "Grogan put the weapon down. For God's sake he's down."
Kek hollers in pain. "Why?"
Andrea drops down next to Kek and looks at his wounds. "Because he knows what you are." Stepping back Andrea moves next to Jack and Daniel, withdrawing from her feelings for the host.
Jack takes off his hat and looks at Kek. "This is the guy?"
Teal'c looks directly at Kek whose eyes flash. "You are not a god."
Kek's goa'uld voice speaks. "Sho'va!"
Kawalsky looks at Kek and glares. "Shut up snakehead," taking a number from O'Neill box of insults.
David's voice speaks to Andrea. "You went home, why?"
Andrea upset and disturbed moves around to where Sam and Jonas are standing. "Because you don't tell the truth and you don't trust me."
"I love you" Kek pleads groaning.
Sam sees the how uncomfortable Andrea is. "You don't love her!"
Jonas looks upset as well as everyone else. "We know what you are."
Kek tries to stand and touch Andrea. "They've brain washed you."
"No, she sees your lies, your deceptions and your evil." Daniel says standing in front of Kek.
Kawalsky stands next to Daniel and speaks boldly. "I wish there had been an attempt on her life long ago."
Kawalsky so angry looks at Jack. "That's what he thinks. I saw the bruises and cuts from the blast. Jack I say we kill him now!"
"You know Kawalsky that's not a bad idea. I really hate you snakeheads." O'Neill turns his gun on Kek.
Kek tries to rise but falls and grabs Andrea's leg. Jonas reacts before everyone else ands stuns Kek with a zat.
Feeling the zat Andrea falls back against Sam. "Thanks Jonas!"
Sam holds Andrea up while she recovers from the blast. "Are you alright Andi?"
Andrea stands on her own. "I'm fine. Tonner he followed you here." Andrea addresses the thin man who stands near the door in shock.
Tonner speaks. "I see that my lady."
Daniel turns to Jack. "Jack what are we going to do with him?"
"Should we not take him back to the SGC, O'Neill?" Teal'c asks.
"I will not go with you." Kek says denying that he isn't in control.
Tonner speaks looking at O'Neill. "Sir, Kal'vek is surely looking for his Lordship."
"Colonel he would valuable to the Tok'ra." Carter says know that from the diagrams she had been looking at Kek was more advanced than any system Lord yet.
"I will help you in exchange for my freedom and the return of my queen." Kek's goa'uld voice says.
Daniel looks at Kek enraged by his last statement. "She's not going anywhere with you ever!"
Andrea walks to Daniel and puts her hand on his shoulder. "What are you offering Kek?"
Kek looks at Andrea and smiles. "Weapons, a sarcophagus, and information."
Jack looks at Andrea in shock. "I can't believe he's giving us an offer let alone dealing with us."
Teal'c steps forward. "Only a goa'uld who knows that he is a false god would do such a thing."
Andrea puts her zat away. "I cannot go with you. Your ever loyal servant Kal'vek has other plans for you. Should I return with you I would die."
Kek tries to speak. "Never..."
Andrea cuts him off and continues to speak firmly. "You will give us what you offer in exchange for your life, nothing else will be given but information on other goa'uld."
Jack looks at Andrea skeptically. "Why are you even dealing with him?"
"Because He will honor the deal, if it means he has a chance to see me ever now and again." Andrea says looking at Jack showing him that she tells the truth.
"Are you certain Andrea Milton?" Teal'c looks just as skeptical.
"You bet she is Jack. This guy has women from all over he keeps in different locations." Kawalsky says laughing.
"Women!" Jack coughs.
Andrea grins at Jack. "Oh yes, he has many of them. Some don't even know that he has a queen."
Tonner nervously steps toward Kek, and helps him up. "My Lord?"
Sam and Jack look at Andrea. "Are you serious?"
Kek hanging on to Tonner glares at Andrea. "What you asked for will be delivered on Mos."
"He's going to let us go?" Jonas asks looking skeptical.
"This has got to be a Trick." Jack says looking at Andrea.
"He's telling the truth." Andrea says to everyone, Grogan who had remained quiet looks like the only one who believes her.
"I have never met a goa'uld who was willing to make a deal with anyone." Teal'c says looking at O'Neill.
"Colonel, you have to trust me. If we let him go, we may be able to gate home with some ease. However we should be on guard." Andrea looks at Daniel and Kawalsky who know her the best and pleads with them to help her.
"Jack we have to trust her." Daniel begins to notice how uncomfortable Andrea seems to be around Kek.
Kek stands and walks toward Andi, "I will see you safe." Kek reaches his hand and touches Andrea's face.
Daniel standing next to Andrea knocks Kek's hand away with amazing ease. "You will not touch her."
Kek grabs Daniel's hand and begins to squeeze it. "You will not tell me what I cannot do!"
Jack raises his gun again. "Ouch" Daniel says as his arm is squeezed.
Andrea reacts to Daniel's pain and kicks Kek's arm free of Daniel. "You won't touch me and you won't hurt my friends. Teal'c will you open the door please."
Jack gives Andrea an expression of disgust. "You want me to trust this guy!"
Andrea gives Daniel a look of sympathy. "No Colonel, I'm asking you to trust me."
"Ah, hell. This whole thing stinks." Jack replies looking at Andrea understanding what she is asking.
Kawalsky looks at O'Neill and agrees with him. "Definitely smells fishy around here."
"Colonel?" Sam asks looking at O'Neill for direction.
"Let's go, snakehead first. Keep your eyes open folks." Jack says as his P-90 directs Kek toward the door.
"Tonner we're taking some scrolls. I will see that they are returned. You can take what ever you like Major." Andrea says grabbing some of the scrolls that are lying on the table.
"Yes My lady." Tonner is the last one out of the chamber.
Walking several meters from the cavern Teal'c turns to Jack who is behind Kek. "We are being watched."
Kek hearing the statement is annoyed believing it was made to him. "I know that you fool." Kek shouts. "Jaffa stand before me!" Several Jaffa step out from the heavily wooded areas around them.
"Whoa!" Jack says as twelve Jaffa surround them.
"Kree Jaffa, lower your weapons." Andrea speaks to both groups and watches as the Jaffa comply.
Sam looks around. "Are they yours Andi?" Sam remembers that Andrea had Jaffa personally assigned to her.
"Yes," Andrea looks around. "Where is Kek?"
Jack looks around and then turns back upset. "Sneaky bastard."
"My lady Kal'vek is ahead. If we protect you, we will suffer." An older Jaffa says looking concerned.
"Geez thanks guys." Kawalsky says ungratefully.
"Get ready everyone. Grogan come here." Andrea says pulling out her zat leaving her ribbon device in her pack.
"Yes ma'am." Grogan moves closer to Andrea as they reach the clearing.
Walking out of the clearing Jack yells as they come under fire. "Get down!" Everyone but Jonas hits the ground fast.
Andrea turns and pushes Jonas down. "Are you okay?"
Jonas stands up. "Yes."
"I knew we couldn't trust a goa'uld." Jack says standing up.
"Jaffa, Kree!" Kek runs up to the Jaffa who were firing cursing.
"Teal'c do you see Kal'vek?" Andrea helps Sam up.
Teal'c looks around. "No, I do not."
Daniel stands up and looks at Jack and Kawalsky. "Jack, the faster we get out of here the better."
"Daniel is right Colonel." Kawalsky says looking at Kek yell at several Jaffa.
"Major Carter?" Grogan tries to get Sam's attention.
Sam turns to Grogan. "What is it Lieutenant?"
Andrea grips Grogan's arm. "Nothing Major sorry."
Jack leads them to the gate. "Okay Daniel, dial us out."
Daniel dials the gate. When the wormhole opens Sam dials the GDO code. Daniel, Grogan, Andrea and Jonas go through the gate first. Teal'c, Sam, Kawalsky and Jack follow making sure no one sneaks by.
General Hammond stands at the end of the ramp concerned. "You're back early folks."
"We had company sir." Jack says coming down the ramp. "You are never going back there." O'Neill says looking directly at Andrea.
"Sure, are you going to tell him about the deal?" Andrea looks smugly at O'Neill.
"General we're getting shipment of weapons and a sarcophagus." Sam says coming down the ramp as well.
Hammond turns to Colonel O'Neill. "Colonel how is this possible?"
Jack gives the general a look showing that he is disgusted with himself. "I made a deal with the devil! I'll put it in the report and discuss it at the briefing."
Sam walks toward the doors. "Come on Andrea ladies first." Sam leaves the gate room followed by Andi.
