HIEI'S TWINS

Chapter Seven
"Master! Master! I found her! I found the key!" A voice shouted as footsteps were heard pounding the floor as the figure ran to the double doors standing at the end of the hall.
The doors flew open as the figure, which was a young and lithe young man with black hair and sea green eyes, slid to a halt to the middle of the room which turned out to be a library.
"Master, I..found the..key." The young man panted out as he regained his breath.
"Is that so, Yuki?" A voice asked from one of the shadowed corners of the room.
The figure stepped from the shadows with a closed book in his hand into the light. He stood at least 8 feet tall with shoulder-length blue hair and gold eyes. He had deeply tanned skin, muscular, but not overly so. He was dressed in a jet black, pin-striped suit.
"Yes, master. She is being held prisoner by Lord Lucien, my lord." Yuki told him. The man looked up at him sharply.
"Lucien has MY key?" The man asked, not at all pleased by this bit of news.
"Yes, Lord Kei. Lord Lucien intends to make her a part of his harem." Yuki replied.
Lord Kei gritted his teeth and growled.
"That bastard. Doesn't he know the power he holds in his hands?" Kei asked angrily.
"Apparently not, sir. Should I send the Trio to retrieved the key?" Yuki asked.
"No need. I will deal with this personally. I did not do all that countless research on the Legend, just to have the key to its power tainted. Summon the Trio. I will get the key and Lord Lucien will learn not to touch that which is not his."
"Right away, my lord." Yuki said and immediately left the room to do his master bidding.
"Soon. Soon, the key to absolute power to this world will be mine." Kei said.
"Lord Lucien, the machine is fixed and ready to go." The doctor told Lucien as he entered the lab.
"Excellent! Let's see if we can get the shield down this time shall we, my beauty?" Lucien said as he glanced at Akari before starting up the machine and firing it at her.
Akari flinched again. This time, she was straining to keep the shield up and was failing. Soon, the shield shattered. When it did, Akari screamed before passing out from exhaustion.
Lucien turned the machine off and walked over to Akari's prone body. He lifted her up and placed a hand on her cheek.
"You are mine." He said softly before kissing her.
Just then, the far right wall exploded, shaking the entire lab with its force. Lucien clutched Akari to his body, shielding her from the debris. He looked up to see four figures emerge from the smoke.
"Lord Kei?" He asked looking at the man approaching him.
Lucien gently laid Akari back down and straightened.
Lord Kei looked at Akari for a few moments then turned his attention to Lucien.
"What is the meaning of this, Lord Kei? Why do you attack my kingdom?" Lucien asked, not liking the way he looked at Akari.
"Lord Lucien, why have you kidnapped Queen Akari and ruined her kingdom? I'm quite sure she has done nothing to you to do this to her." Lord Kei address him.
Lucien sneered.
"That's none of your business. But, if you must know, She rejected me. Claiming she still loved the father of those two brats of hers." Lucien told him.
"You mean to tell me, you kidnapped her all because she rejected you romantically?" Lord Kei couldn't believe what he was told.
"Of course. No one rejects me." Lucien replied.
Lord Kei grabbed Lucien by his neck and began to squeeze his windpipe, cutting off his air.
"You bakayaru!! You have no idea what you have in your possession, do you?!" Kei shouted at him.
"Wh-what are..you...talk..ing..about?" Lucien struggled to get free from the death grip on his throat.
"Akari is the key to obtaining absolute power in this world and you want to turn her into one of your cheap whores? I think not! I'm taking her and you, Lord Lucien are dead."
And with that said, Kei crushed Lucien windpipe and dropped the lifeless body to the floor. He walked over to the table and gathered the still unconscious Akari into his arms, cradling her gently. He looked up at the Trio.
"Destroy this place and this kingdom. Leave no one alive." Kei told them as he left the lab back through the hole they came in.
The three demons smiled and began their destructive rampage with reckless abandon.
"That must be it, Lucien's stronghold." Kurama said as they stood a few yards away.
Just then, Dante and Bijin got the feeling of imminent danger to their
mother. Without warning, they took off running towards the building.
"Dante! Akari! Wait, come back!" Hiei yelled out to them as he, Yusuke, Kurama, and Kuwabara ran after them.
As they closed in on the twins and the building, it suddenly blew up in a massive explosion, knocking the twins backwards into the waiting arms of their father.
"Are you two okay?" Hiei asked loudly over the noise.
Dante and Bijin were about to reply when something told them to look up at the roof of the burning building. They saw a man appear and in his arms, he held...
"Mama!" The twins shouted.
The Rei Kai looked up to see what had gotten the twin's attention.
"Akari!" Yusuke yelled when he recognized his twin in the arms of a strange man. Hiei on the other hand was in shock.
Akari? Akari is their mother?! Then, Dante and Bijin ARE my children. Akari, why didn't you tell me? Hiei said to himself.
Hiei was snapped from his inner musings when her heard the twins call out to Akari again and ran up to the inferno with Yusuke and the others behind them. He quickly joined them, still trying to let the revelation sink in.
Lord Kei looked down at the them with an arched eyebrow in puzzlement until he recognized who they were.
"Ah! I see the heroes have arrived, but you are too late. Lord Lucien has paid for his crime for kidnapping Queen Akari. He won't be a danger anymore." Kei told them.
"Please give us our mother!" Bijin shouted at him.
Lord Kei looked down at the cute little girl and smiled softly. "I'm sorry, little one. I can't do that." He replied.
"Why not?!" Dante yelled, growing increasingly angrier by the minute at this man who held his unconscious mother.
Lord Kei noticed Dante's spirit energy rising and was impressed with it.
"Come to my castle in the eastern lands and you can have you mother back, if you succeed in making it to the castle that is. It shouldn't be a problem with your uncle and your father helping you." Kei told him.
"Our father? What are you talking about? Our father isn't even here!" Dante said.
Kei arched an eyebrow.
"Oh, really? Then, whose that gentleman standing behind you? I bid you greetings Hiei, consort of Queen Akari, father of Prince Dante and Princess Bijin. I am Lord Kei." He bowed slightly.
Dante and Bijin turned with shocked expressions on their faces to Hiei who had an equally shocked expression on his face. The revelation had just been confirmed to Hiei.
"You all have until sunrise two days from now to rescue Queen Akari. Farewell." Kei said as he vanished with Akari.
"Wait!" Kuwabara said.
Yusuke clenched his fists when they disappeared, then turned his head to look at the twins and Hiei, whose gazes were locked onto each other.
"F-fa-father?" Dante asked with a shaky voice.
