Ed was glaring daggers at his younger brother who was standing most innocently in the doorway.
Ed twitched, "What did you say?"
"I need new clothes. Let's go shopping."
Al had only been restored 3 months ago and already he was as tall as Ed was. While it had been Al's 10-year-old body his soul had been put back in, it wasn't wasting any time in catching up on lost growing time. Al had gotten over his guilt at not being able to help Ed get his limbs back and had instead starting joking about how after so many years in the suit of armor, it felt strange not to have to look down to talk to Ed or constantly see the top of his head.
That always pissed him off.
"C'mon, niisan."
Ed kept glaring, "I don't see why you need new clothes."
Al pointed to his feet where his pants ended a good 3 inches above his socks.
"So? It's the fashion right now."
Al glared at his brother. He then walked over to the table that Ed was sitting and grabbed the back the Ed's jacket and dragged him out of the apartment they shared.
Ed hated going shopping. It only reminded him of the fact that he hadn't grown much at all in the years since he and Al had tried to revive their mother. And now, it seemed like Al couldn't stop. But, it wasn't like Ed could say no to his brother.
The ladies at the local department store, had come to know the face of the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother very well, since they were in the store every couple of weeks having to buy something new for Al. The very second the two walked in the door, four women stopped what they were doing and began waving and greeting Ed and Al.
Ed grumbled and dragged his brother off the main walkway of the store. While Ed hated all the attention, Al soaked it and would generally sneak away from Ed to go talk to the women.
"We should go say hello, niisan! It's rude not to."
"They can deal, Al. Just get your stuff, and then we can go home."
Ed sat down in a chair by the dressing rooms and waited for Al. As he watched Al walk around the racks of clothes, Ed decided that while it was a hassle sometimes, he could live with his automail. It was well worth seeing Al again. Once Al's body was back, Ed had wanted to get rid of the suit of armor, but Al hadn't let him, saying that there were too many memories he associated with the armor. Ed didn't think that was healthy.
After Al's body had been restored, Ed had called into Colonel Mustang and demanded the week off. After an hour of arguing and threats and statements that the reason was "a family matter" Ed had been given the time off and the brothers had gone to visit Winry and do a few little day trips to cities nearby. On the final day, after returning home, Colonel Mustang had stopped by their apartment, most unexpectedly. Ed had been in the bath and refused to shorten it for the Colonel's sake. So, Al sat with the Colonel and kept him company. Only, the Colonel didn't realize that he was talking Al until Ed came out and asked his brother if they had any crackers. Colonel Mustang was in shock for a moment before congratulating Al and telling Ed that he should bring Al to the office sometime because certainly the others would like to congratulate Al.
Ed had wanted to smack the Colonel.
"Stupid, Mustang..."
"What are you talking about, Niisan?"
Ed looked up to see a confused Al looking down at him.
"Hey, I can see the top of your head!"
Ed blushed before telling Al to shut up. Ed paid for his brother's clothes, which he thought there were too many of since they'd have to come back in a few weeks anyways.
And on the way out, Al stopped to wave say farewell to the four women that had greeted him and Ed on the way in.
