Fearful Teddy
Writers block on Love of a pet. Decided to write this to get it out of my head.
It was still there- staring at him.
Ron couldn't help but stare back at the ratty Teddy bear. It sat on his dresser, untouched by anyone than his mother when she cleaned. He was torn between trashing it or trying to overcome his fear that the charm might still be on. On one hand, it was the only toy, the ONLY thing he really owned that was bought for him and only him. On the other hand, there's a chance that it might turn into a spider again.
His eyes were starting to itch. He really loved his teddy, loved the comfort it brought, the same comfort he had been denied so long. He really hated that he couldn't bury his face in the musty smell of its soft, ratty, velveteen fur.
But most of all, he really hated Fred.
It was his fault, he thought bitterly; his fault that I can barely look at it without shivering slightly in disgust. The itchiness in his eyes left him for a moment before something tickled his cheek lightly and dripped onto his hand.
He couldn't stop the sobs that slowly started racking his body. The cries were almost painful, but he muffled them, no matter how much the pressure hurt his chest.
Outside the door, another one of the houses redheaded occupants started slightly. He knew instantly it could only have been two people that the noise was coming from. The house was emptied- Ginny at a friends, Mother at the store, Father at work and the rest of the brothers living on their own.
He slowly turned the door knob, willing the door not to creak. He was spared only that though.
He didn't know why his brother was crying, but that didn't make the sight any less painful to him. He stepped in. The floor board creaked.
Ron stiffened, sobs instantly stopping. "Don't come near me, don't touch me, forget you saw this and get out," he said in a hoarse voice.
The other redhead sighed softly, stepping away only to close the door before returning.
Ron turned to glare at him, "I said LEAVE."
The other didn't move, but he could see the slight confusion in his brother's eyes, "It's Fred," he said simply. If it was possible, Ron's glare intensified.
Fred ignored it, "Why were you crying?"
The younger redhead turned away, hiding his face. Fred followed his gaze and his eyes landed on the teddy. He smiled slightly, "Oh, that's why… Never figured you to be one to hold grudges Ickle Ronnikins." He stepped over to it, gently picking it up and cradling it in his arms. Ron was staring at him with wide eyes, scooting backwards on his bed until he was trapped against the head board. Fred followed him.
"You're never going to fix it if you can't even look at it when it's this close." Ron cracked an eye open, never realizing he closed them. He felt a soft little velvet paw rub his nose lightly. Fred set the bear down beside them and gently uncurled Ron's body, stretching his legs out and uncrossing his arms. He laid the teddy gently in his little brother's lap and forced his arms to curl around it. Ron's body curled again, but this time around the teddy.
Fred smiled lightly at him and leaned against the headboard next to him, cradling the other redhead gently against his chest. He pressed his lips lightly to the bright crown of red hair before pressing his cheek against it and dozing lightly.
Ron had his teddy, now Fred had his own.
I don't know if this is over- it might continue. But I like the ending to this, it's just too cute . Weasley incest tends to fix my writers block just because nothing seems too clichéd to write. There's not anything complicated needed like with Draco x Ron or Harry x Sirius and the like. Besides that there isn't enough fics as it is. I don't see this having much of an actual plot if continued but… not that any of you probably care.
