A nine member crew exploring the edge of the solar system; it's a slightly outdated ship built in 20XX with major upgrades added on while the crew are in cryogenic stasis in the past few decades. Their mission is to collect various items of debris and analyze it for anything of scientific important like life forms or viruses.
A soft green glow aluminate his face as he flipped a few switches, behind him the ship's captain, Montana Max, the psychologist, Elmyra Duff, and the first mate, Plucky Duck, were awaiting the arrival of the new, yet unidentified, cargo. If this was a alien artifact it could be a mayor break through, if was just normal debris it would be a waste of their time.
Calamity Coyote maneuver the large, hydraulic claw to grasp the large square artifact. Careful presses of the joysticks he placed the item into the analyzing bay and pressed a black and yellow button that sealed away the debris for safety reasons.
He swiveled around and held up a sign.
"It's properly going to be more frozen ice ball like the other ones," Montana Max said as he shoved his hands into his pocket. "If I wasn't being forced to do this by the government I would have quite a loooong time ago."
"I hope it's something huggable and needs much loving," Elmyra chimed in. She was here by something in the books about needing a psychologist at hand for new arrivals for psychological analysis if there "first contact," the others on board pity the poor alien.
"It probably nothing," Plucky said as he combed his feathers, "or it could be a pixie in a metal skirt."
Calamity sighed while he shook his head, he held up another sign.
There were disappointed sighs but Montana Max shrugged, "bring it in anyway." Within moments clicks and whirlers were heard as pressurized steam hissed out of the sides of the cargo airlock doors opened. There sat in the large, dwarfing room was a medium-sized box, nothing truly special on the outside expect for a badly tarnished plaque on it's "top".
Plucky was the first to approach the box, he looked it over while giving his opinion. "It looks Earthian made, and judging from the metal and style used this was built while we were still working as actors."
"Gods that was along time ago," Monty said as he reached into his pocket to fish out a cigarette. "I can barely remember than, and that's only because of these bio-mods the government gave us."
"Tell me about it," Elmyra said in a out of character depressed tone.
"Well, enough of this depression crap," Plucky said as he lean down next to the item, "we've got ourselves a museum piece here."
For the next half hour they searched over the box, the best decision they came up with is let the computer system deal with it while they go into their scheduled cyrogenic sleep. Calamity took in a deep breath as he went to retrive the mech suit, than with the mech suit he carried the object into another area of the gargo bay where the computer does a full anaziation.
Now it was time to get some frozen sleep.
The area was filled with large metal tubes with a glass window in front, there were many life support equipment and monitors. Here the crew doctor, Furball, was checking everything over before he placed himself into a cyrogenic sleep.
Just as he was about to climb into his tube he heard a kaxon, this meant one of two things; damage or the universial government was coming to give the Inugami a upgrade.
It was the later.
