Chapter 2
Haley tracked Nathan down at his locker. She strutted up to him in a "don't screw with me" way. She wasn't in the mood to be taken advantage of or used. There were a few things going through her mind though. "Was this the smartest idea, and what if Lucas finds out, he hates this guys guts even though their brothers, that don't really know each other."
"Nathan, I've thought about what you said earlier and I've decided that I will tutor you." Haley said as she moved around in a nervous fashion.
"Haley, that's great, I really need the help, your doing me an enormous favour." Nathan said as he closed his locker.
"Look, if I'm going to do this I have some concerns, one Lucas does not find out, I mean EVER, and two, I need to know that you aren't taking advantage of me to try to get back at Lucas for being on the basketball team." Haley told him in a serious tone.
"I swear to you I'm not using you to get back at Lucas, in fact that's the farthest thing from my mind right now, I can't get kicked of the team and with my grades that's pretty close to happening."
"Okay, so we'll meet at the docks tomorrow morning at 7:30, don't be late." And with that all said and done, Haley walked to her first period class wondering if she just made the worst mistake of her life.
