Story Start!
They were two days away from Ecruteak.
Bea was not going to skip 2 days of working out or training after her loss, so they were taking a break from walking in order for her to get some training in.
"Dish!"
Oddish was tossing through the air when it was tackled by a wild Tauros, before it landed on his tiny feet and dodged another Tauros. He looked at his trainer, who had grabbed a different bull pokemon by the horns and was holding it back. The veins on his arms were bulging from the effort it was taking to hold the pokemon back. Oddish looked over at Petilil, who was going head to head with a Tauros, literally butting heads with her opponent, and the two would be even matched in knocking each other back.
Bea jumped to the side and kicked the Tauros in the head.
She might be VERY strong, but she lacked the body weight required for her to be able to hold back a charging Tauros like Naruto. She was not lacking in strength to do it, but instead, lacked the sturdiness in order to take the hit while also holding it back. So instead she focused on dodging and counter attacking with stronger kicks to the head.
"If you lack strength, then you need guts." Naruto twisted the bull's head and used it's own weight to pull it onto it's side. Naruto used his jacket and tied up the Tauros by the legs, his actions being swift enough that he took the pokemon by surprise. He looked over at Oddish, and the Tauros fighting it charged at him. Petilil interfered and tackled it onto it's side, before she went back to fighting her own Tauros.
Bea glanced over at Naruto.
He slammed his elbow into the back of Tauros' skull, and the pokemon went limp. She looked back at her own Tauros as it circled back around in a non-ending charge. She raised her fists up, and she jumped up when it got closer. She hit the pokemon with both of her fists, right on top of it's head, before she used the force of her blow to frog jump over the rampaging pokemon. She grabbed him by the tail and pulled herself onto his back.
Where she leaned forward and hit the sharp of her elbow into the back of it's spine, and the pokemon went limp on the ground.
She nodded to Naruto.
Oddish tackled the Tauros that was ignoring him, before it paid attention to him once more. When he butt his head against it, he was sent flying again.
"Oddish, like this... lean forward, and put your..." Naruto slammed both of his fists to the ground and leaned forward. Oddish didn't have a back though. "... don't go for the head, go for the legs." Naruto gave a command to the pokemon. Oddish leaned forward and butt heads with Tauros again, ignoring Naruto's orders when he saw Petilil finally knock her opponent out cold.
By the way, Heracross was just watching Bea from nearby, and Bea had not taken Machoke out, since she wanted to show Heracross how she was trying to gain experience. Oddish was sent flying again.
Naruto rushed to Oddish and stood by his side.
Tauros charged down Oddish, and Naruto grabbed the bull by the horns once more as he was pushed back by the initial inertia the pokemon had. He leaned forward and dug his feet into the ground, and he kicked the pokemon's legs out from under it the second that he was secure enough in his footing. Tauros was shocked for a moment and dipped forward, so Naruto turned around, grabbed the horns from over his shoulders, and flung the bull as he leaned forward. The pokemon hit the ground and scrambed jerkingly to get back to his hooves, before it saw the other Tauros were backing off.
"Come on... lean forward, clench your belly and butt... and wait for the chance." Naruto snorted at the Tauros and invoked it's anger again.
Bea was sitting on top of her knocked out Tauros, having broken a sweat from their impromtu training session. She saw tauros, and she knew that it would be a rare chance for her to go head to head and gain more experience against a different body type of pokemon. Oddish looked at Naruto, before copying his stance to the best of his ability. Tauros charged, and Naruto rolled out of the way so that Oddish could do it alone.
Oddish copied that.
Oddish rolled forward and tripped Tauros, while Naruto sucked his lips in when Tauros flipped itself over, got back to it's feet, and realized that it's chances weren't great. It started to run away to join the others of it's species. Petilil jumped onto her trainer's head and danced around, just dancing happily for Oddish.
"Good training."
"Good work." Naruto rubbed the top of Oddish's head, before the pokemon looked at the escaping Tauros. "You too." Naruto felt Petilil jump harder on his head at being ignored, before she went back to her light hearted dancing. The shiny Oddish nodded in satisfaction, before he looked towards Heracross.
"Dish!"
Heracross scoffed and ignored the weed pokemon, before looking at Bea, who returned him to his pokeball.
"So, do we wait for the Tauros to wake up?"
"Wake up?" Naruto asked for a second.
She did know the Tauros they 'knocked out' were dead by now right?
The hits to the spine were fatal in where they were located, severing the spine. Naruto looked at Bea, before he coughed into his hand, realizing that she had severed the spine on accident, just trying to knock the pokemon out. She had copied him without knowing that he was going for a death blow.
"Actually, why do you take Petilil for a bath by the river instead, and I'll go gather some grub for dinner... I'm thinking I saw some nice berries, how about a berry curry?" Naruto asked, since that was what Bea was good at making. She could turn almost anything into curry, and they had gotten some rice on their way out of Goldenrod, so they were nice and stocked up on ingredients. Naruto's eyes drifted towards the Tauros that Petilil knocked out, and it woke up and ran away when it saw two of the herd were laying dead on the ground nearby.
"Why, I'm not that sweaty..." Bea's eyes drifted towards the Tauros.
Her eyes met Naruto's eyes.
"... Don't think too hard about it."
"I won't." Bea grabbed Petilil and started to walk towards the river.
-At Dinner-
'... It tastes amazing...' Bea thought as she ate the meat in the curry, knowing damn well that it might have been from one of 2 kills. She clapped her hands together and prayed for the pokemon's soul, hoping that it would find peace. She saw Naruto was doing the same thing, thanking the pokemon for it's meat. '... It tastes amazing, and I'm not going to stop eating meat... but I feel... guilty still.' Bea thought as she ate.
It would be an insult to Tauros to NOT eat it.
That would be a waste of good meat, nutrition, and it would have reduced the act of killing the pokemon to an act of senseless violence. Her kill had been accidental, though she suspected Naruto had done it for the purpose of eating the pokemon. She knew that he only killed pokemon who could fight back after all.
"Awesome as always." Naruto gave her a thumbs up when she looked at him.
"Thanks."
'Yeah, she isn't cut out for hunting... she feels guilty... she's a fighter, not a hunter.' Naruto knew the difference between the two. He was both a fighter and a hunter, but Bea was a noble fighter, so killing was a last resort approach for her. At the same time, she was understanding of the situation and how they were being respectful to the pokemon by eating it. Pokemon would eat other pokemon, as was the circle of life, so to would they be allowed to eat pokemon.
Still, Bea had that soft spot that made it hard for her to do the act that allowed them to eat the pokemon.
They did not talk about it.
"Not too sweet?"
"No, but I'm worried if I keep eating this, my thighs will get thicker."
"Thick thighs..." Bea stated, before she couldn't help herself but let out a small giggle, she covered her giggle by taking another bite of curry. With that, the tension in the air vanished like it had not been there at all. "Ah... Machoke, come out for a bite to..." Bea realized that she almost forgot about her partner.
Machoke was different.
It was visible enough that Bea went silent, because Machoke had visibly grown more muscular, and Naruto stopped eating as his jaw dropped in shock when he saw that Machoke had 4 arms now, and parts of his body's structure had seemingly changed.
"Machamp!"
"That's right!" Bea slapped her forehead when she realized that, technically, she and Naruto DID make a trade with each other. That meant that Machoke had evolved in it's pokeball, and was now a Machamp instead.
Why didn't she think of this sooner!?
The reason she never evolved Machoke was because she never actually wanted to trade him, for fear of Machoke coming to hate her, but Naruto was somebody even her pokemon respected, so it would be understanding of that. Also, they were travelling companions, so the trade was safe and temporary.
She felt stupid for not doing this earlier.
