Chapter Six

A Very Strange Ginny

Draco ran back to his room. When he got there he found Hermione still sitting on his bed.

"Hermione." He shook his head as if shaking all this words away." I mean Granger." he stopped in the doorway of his room.

"She's gone."

"What? This doesn't make sense." Hermione said to Draco. They were standing in the doorway of Hermione's room, together, looking around.

"There is no way she could have just got up and walked away." Hermione added walking into her room.

"Why?" he asked, walking in too.

"Because, I used the Medulla Oblongata spell on her. It paralyzes your spine for a few hours." she added seeing the puzzled look on his face. "That's why there is no way she could have gotten up and just walked off."

"Well why the bloody hell were you two fighting anyway?" Draco asked, coming closer to her.

He grazed over her lip with his thumb, barely touching it. By now the blood had dried and it had stopped bleeding. Hermione pulled away. She was feeling nervous all of a sudden.

But why?

"It was stupid. We…we were fighting over… Harry." she made a face.

Draco raised one of his eyebrows at the sound of her words. He felt jealous. Real jealousy.

"But she was acting really weird." Hermione went on, not noticing the look on Draco's face. "It was like it wasn't really her or something."

"What do you mean?" he asked moving closer to her again. She backed away and sat on her bed.

"Well for one thing," she said as he sat next to her. "She was talking different."

"What do you mean?" he asked again. She turned to him, one leg still hanging off the bed.

"I dunno. She just sounded different. Not the way she would usually talk." He was listening to her intently. Waiting for her to go on.

"And just the way she exploded when I told her that Harry likes me." At that, Draco got up. He was feeling jealous again. It wasn't like he loved Hermione. Not yet at least.

But there was still something there. Something that made him mad inside. Something that made him feel jealous inside every time she mentioned Harry's name.

Hermione was the same way. It was true, she had always found Draco attractive and it was true she always kind of liked him. But she never really thought about love.

"We always decided that no matter what happens. No matter what guy enters our lives, we'd never let anything or anyone come between us. And that's why it's so weird." Draco heard her say. He turned to face her again. She was looking down, twiddling with her fingers.

"That's why I don't get it. If I really know Ginny, she wouldn't have let Harry come between us so easily. She knows I don't like Harry like that and that she can have him all she wants."

"So you don't like Harry?" Draco asked before he could stop himself.

"No." she said looking at him weird. There was silence between them for a few seconds.

"Listen, Draco. I have to talk to you." she said, still sitting on her bed. "Why did I just call him Draco?" she thought.

"Do you really l-love me? Or is it all just a trick?"

"Like he's really going to tell you, Hermione." she thought to herself.

He stood in the middle of her room not ready to really answer her question.

"I know it's hard to believe, Hermione." he said walking over to her again. "Why does it sound so weird saying her name?"

"But its true. I've always liked you." he lied. He sat next to her on her bed again. She looked deep into his eyes as if trying to see if he was lying or not but there was no emotion showing in them.

"Draco. I think that I-------," Hermione started but was cut off by someone yelling her name at he portal hole. She was going to tell him how she truly felt about him all these years. How she may like him after all.

"HERMIONE!" someone screamed again. Hermione raised one of her eyebrows and made a face.

"That voice sounds so familiar." she said. "It sounds like……" Hermione jumped up and ran to her bedroom door. She pulled it open and ran into the common room.

She stopped in the middle of the room just as Draco ran in.

"HERMIONE. LET ME IN." someone screamed again. Hermione pulled the portal hole door open.

"Ginny!" she shouted.

"Hermione, I just heard what happened." she said out of breath.

"What? What are you talking about, Ginny? Where did you go?" Hermione said, Draco standing close behind her.

"I just came back from Gryffindor Tower. Harry told me. I can't believe you didn't." Ginny said in one breath.

"Slow down, Ginny. What are you talking about?"

"Come on." Ginny said and ran into Hermione's room. So did Hermione. Draco on the other hand, ran out the portal hole.

"Harry told me that he told you he likes you. Why didn't you tell me?"

"I did. Don't you remember?"

"No. I don't."

"You practically exploded at me, Ginny." Hermione said, sitting in her chair next to her bookcase. "You really don't remember?"

"No. I don't remember coming her at all. I was in Gryffindor Tower the whole time. Talking with Harry and Ron."

"Ginny. I swear you were here. Look, you punched me and everything when I told you." Hermione added pointing to her lip.

"Ok, I dunno how to explain that, but you know I would never do that. Not to you at least, Mione." she added with a small laugh.

"Ok. Well……How's your back?"

"What? My back? Its fine, why?" Ginny, who now sat on Hermione's desk, said.

"Because, I used the Medulla Oblongata spell on you. It paralyzes your spine. That's why none of this makes sense. You couldn't have just walked off like that."

Hermione said sitting on the edge of her seat. There was a long pause. They were both trying to think of an explanation on how this could have happened.

"This is to weird." Hermione said after a while.

"Yeah." Ginny added. "And I'll bet you anything it has to do with Malfoy."

A/N: So that's the end of chapter six. Some things are brought up. Like why is Ginny acting so weird all of a sudden and why doesn't she remember fighting with Hermione?

Was it really Ginny? Or was it someone else? And where did Draco go sneaking off to when Ginny came it? I guess you guys will just have to find out later. LOL. Review.
