A/N: I'm so tried. I typed this whole chapter and then just as I got ready to save it, what happens? The stupid computer froze. So I had to type it all over again. Poor me. Lol. So if there are a lot of mistakes I'm sorry. I was rushing a lot. Well anyway, this chapter starts off really happy and then when you get to the end of the chapter its really, really sad. Well you'll see what happens. So, here's……….
Chapter Ten
Quidditch
"Awww. How cute." Pansy thought sarcastically. She was hiding in the air vent in McGonagall's office, watching Draco holding Hermione.
"I love you." she heard Draco whisper in Hermione's ear.
"He…..he meant that." Pansy's thoughts screamed in her head. Her legs were starting to cramp up from the small space in the vent. "He really meant that. He's really falling in love with her after he swore to me he wouldn't." Tears began to form in her eyes. Pansy quickly wiped them away. "And look at her down there in his arms. Well…she has no idea what's in store for her, does she? One of us has to go." She glared at Hermione. "And frankly….it's not going to be me."

It was a cold snowy day and Hermione was sitting in her favorite armchair near the fire in hers and Draco's common room, reading her favorite book for the hundredth time.
"Hey, Mione." Draco said coming out of his room and into the common room.
"Hey." Hermione replied looking up from her book.
"You know I have a game today, right?" he asked walking over to her and took a seat on the couch. "You'll be there, right?"
"And miss and Gryffindor vs. Slytherin Quidditch game. Of course I'll be there. Besides, Gryffindor is so going to kick Slytherin's butt." she laughed, resting her book on her lap.
"On the contrary Mon Amour. ( A/N: My Love in French) "but Gryffindor is the one who is going to get their butts kicked."
"Listen." he added seriously. "We need to talk." the smile on Hermione's face quickly faded. ( A/N: Omg, is he going to tell her that she was a bet along?)
"Oh no. We don't even go out and I already feel like you are braking up with me."
"Well…that's kind of what I wanted to talk to you about." Draco said, getting up. Hermione looked puzzled. She was still sitting in the armchair.
"Come here." he said sticking out his right hand for Hermione to take. Hermione took his hand and he helped her up. Draco then took Hermione's left hand with his.
"Hermione." he said softly.
"Yes." Hermione replied, eager to see what Draco was going to say next.
Draco let go of both of Hermione's hands. He then got down on one knee.
Hermione's mouth immediately dropped open. "Oh my god. What is he doing." she thought. (A/N: Omg. Is he gonna……….?)
"Oh my god. I hope he's not gonna." Hermione's thoughts rang.
"Hermione." Draco said again, taking out a small box from one of the pockets of his Hogwarts robes. (A/N: Omg. He's gonna………)
"oh my god. I really hope he's not gonna." Without Hermione realizing it, her hands were now covering her open mouth. She was in total shock at the sight of the little box in Draco's hand.
"Hermione, would you….." his voice trailed off. His silvery-blue eyes fell to the floor.
"If I ask her this very important question, it will only make it harder for me to tell her she was at bet in the beginning. But if I don't do this, she may end up slipping away from me forever." his thoughts ran wild.
"Just spit it out already." Hermione's thoughts ran around in her head as Draco thought, "Just ask her already, Draco."
"Hermione, would you be my…girlfriend?"
"What?" Hermione said in a shocked and shaky voice.
"Would you be my girlfriend?" he repeated again, looking up at her with those two most gorgeous silvery-blue eyes of his.
"Yes." Hermione replied. "Of course I'll be your girlfriend."
Draco opened the small box, which lay in his hand. Inside there was a beautiful fourteen-karat diamond ring. The ring was very elegant and the diamonds shine cast a magical glow on the white gold band.
"Oh my god!" Hermione almost yelled, still in total shock. "Is that…" Her voice trailed off.
"A fourteen karat diamond ring." Draco finished her sentence.
"Oh, my god!" Hermione repeated. Draco, who was still on the floor, took Hermione's ring finger and slipped the beautiful ring on her finger. He then got up off the floor. He could see that Hermione had begun to cry as she held her hand up in front of her to view the ring that now lay upon her finger.
"Why are you crying?" Draco asked her.
"Because….it's so beautiful." Hermione sobbed. Draco laughed and put his arms around her and gave her a big hug. (A/N: awwwwwwww. that's so cute.)

"OH MY GOD, GINNY!" Hermione came hopping into the Gryffindor common room. There was no one in there as far as Hermione could see. Suddenly Ginny came rushing out of the girl's dormitory.
"Hermione, what's wrong? I thought you would be at the game. I was just on my way there." Ginny said from the top of the stairs.
"You have to come down here." Hermione said happily, trying to calm herself down.
"What's wrong?" Ginny asked again coming down the stairs.
Hermione started to jump up and down with excitement.
"HE ASKED ME TO BE HIS GILRFRIEND!" Hermione shouted still jumping up and down.
"WHAT!?" Ginny screamed with excitement as well, trying to believe if what she just heard was really true. Hermione finally stop jumping.
"HE GOT ME A RING AND EVERYTHING!" a very excited Hermione almost screamed, raising her hand in the air to show Ginny her new ring.
Ginny stared wide-eyed at the ring on Hermione's ring finger.
"OH MY GOD!" Ginny shouted excitedly and started to jump up and down with Hermione.

Hermione and Ginny walked down to the snow covered Quidditch field. They were still talking about the gorgeous diamond ring and of that hot sexy Draco. (A/N: Lol. I just had to put that in there.)
"It's fourteen karat, Ginny!" Pansy, who was off to the side talking with her two best friends, over heard. The smile on her face quickly faded.
"Yeah, and I still can't believe he asked you out. He must really like you, Hermione." Pansy heard Ginny reply.
"Well, I hope so. This ring costs over one hundred and sixty-five dollars." Pansy's face tightened and her hands became fists and her sides.
"Well, well, well. Look what the cat drug in." Pansy said coldly to Hermione as she walked up to both Hermione and Ginny.
"Pansy, why don't you sod off." Hermione said turning around to face Pansy.
"Yeah, or else." Ginny chimed in.
"Or else what?" Pansy asked as her two friends stood on either side of her.
"Or else she'll slug you in the face." Ginny blurted out without thinking. Hermione turned to Ginny and made a face. Ginny shrugged as if saying 'What?'
Pansy put her hands on her hips and looked Hermione straight in the eyes, as did Hermione. Hermione could tell there was just a hit of fear in them. Pansy, like a big shot, tried to play it off.
"Is that a threat, Granger."
"No, Pansy." Hermione replied calmly. "That's a promise."
"Well you just better stay away from my Dracy poo." Pansy warned, turning on her heal and started to walk away.
"Or else what?" Hermione shouted at Pansy's back, mocking what she had said.
"Or else," Pansy turned around to face Hermione again and started to walk back towards her. "You'll be in a world full of pain and torment. And you can count on that." she added walking off again, leaving Hermione and Ginny standing there.
"Hey, Mione. Hey Ginny." Hermione and Ginny heard from behind them.
"Hey." The two girls said in union, turning around just in time to find Harry and Ron walking over to them.
"Harry, aren't you suppose to being getting changed for the game, that starts in like…." Ginny said looking at her watch. "Fifteen minutes?" she finished.
"Ahh, yeah." Harry answered nervously, avoiding Ginny's eyes. Hermione caught this. "I was just about to go to the locker room to change." he finally looked up.
"Well, I guess we better find seats." Ron said to Ginny and Hermione. "We want to get good seats." he laughed.
"Right." Harry, Hermione, and Ginny said in union.
"You guys go. I'll catch up with you three after the game." Harry added and the started toward the boys locker room.
"Catch you later, Harry." Ron said.
"Bye, Harry." Ginny replied.
Both brother and sister started toward the bleachers. Suddenly Ron turned around.
"You coming, Mione?" he asked. Hermione was staring deeply into the ground but looked up at Ron as she heard his voice. Ron's hair, she saw, was messy and over grown. "He looks pretty good like that." Hermione thought. It wasn't like she was looking at him in that way. He was like a big brother to her, always looking out for her.
"Ahh yeah. I'll be right there. You guys go ahead." Hermione answered.
Ginny and Ron left to go find their seats. Hermione on the other hand ran in Harry's direction. She found him just about to enter the boy's locker room.
"Harry, wait up." Hermione shouted, trying to catch up with Harry before he entered the locker room.
Harry, who had his hand on the door to enter the locker room turned just in time to find Hermione running toward him. "Hermione, I thought you were with Ron and Ginny?" he asked, looking shocked at seeing her there.
"I was." Hermione said stopping right in front of Harry. "But I really needed to talk to you." she added trying to catch her breath as she spoke.
"Yeah." Harry replied. "I'm listening."
"I didn't get a chance to really talk to you since that day in the library." Hermione said, breathing normal again.
"That day in the library?" Harry asked looking confused.
"Yeah." Hermione replied. She couldn't see the confused look on Harry's face because she was staring at the snowy ground "This whole thing," she continued.
"You and me, it's just not going to wor-------"
"Wait." Harry said before she could finish her sentence. Hermione quickly looked up into the face of one of her best friends. "You and I?" he asked even more confused.
"Yeah. You and me, Harry. I-its just not going to work out."
"Hermione, I'm really not sure what your talking about." Harry said.
"What do you mean you dunno what I'm talking about?" Hermione asked as she rubbed her two gloved hands together to keep them warm. "You kissed me that day in the library." Hermione looked confused at Harry. "How can you not remember?"
"Look, Hermione. I'm sorry but I wouldn't kiss you like that. You're like a sister to me. And besides. I like Ginny."
Hermione was really confused. Someone who looked a lot like Harry kissed her that day in the library. But who? It had to have been Harry. Unless………..
"Listen, Harry. There's something really weird going on here." she said seriously.
"How do you mean?"
"Well everyone is acting really weird and-------" Hermione was cut off by the sound if McGonagall's voice through the speaker on the Quidditch field.
"The game will be starting in precisely five minutes." her voice rang through the cold air.
"Listen, Mione. Come by the common room later. I got to go." he said pointing to the boy's locker room.
"Right." Hermione replied. Harry gave Hermione a big hug and then ran into the boy's locker room. Just as he did, Draco came out.
"Hey." he said smiling.
"Hi." Hermione said just in time as Draco planted a soft kiss on her lips.
"So, what was that about?" Draco asked when the kiss ended.
"What?" she asked.
"You and Harry." he said putting his arm around her as they began to walk to the field. "You two weren't smooching again, were you?" Draco joked but Hermione didn't quite take it like that.
"No." she answered seriously. "We were just talking ."
"I got to go, Hermione." Draco said when they reached the field. "I love you." he said and then gave her another soft kiss on the lips. (A/N: awwwwwww)
"I love you too." she said when the kiss ended. "Hey, be careful out there, okay." Hermione shouted as he started for his teammates.
"Okay." he shouted back and then blew her another kiss.

For Draco it was hard to see up in the sky. It had been snowing the whole time they'd been playing. They'd been playing for nearly two hours and Draco still hadn't caught sight of the snitch. A few times he had seen it but it quickly faded into the snowy sky. Harry was having no luck finding it either. His glasses kept fogging up which made it impossible to see at all.
"Where's Harry?" Ron asked looking though his binoculars. "I can't find him anywhere."
"I dunno." Hermione replied.
"There he is." Ginny shouted over the crowed of Slytherins who cheered because they'd just scored ten more points, putting them up to thirty points.
"Gryffindor's falling down by ten pointes." Hermione said angrily.
"If this weather wasn't so hard to play in, we'd be doing a lot better." Ron said not taking his eyes off the game.
"Ten more points for Slytherin." Lee Jordan's voice shouted unhappily into the speaker. "Its now Forty to twenty, Slytherin in the lead." The Slytherin crowed went wild with joy.
"We're not doing so good." Ginny said. "And I can't find Harry anywhere." Ron and Hermione laughed. She had been watching Harry and nothing but since the game started.
"Angelina Johnson takes the quaffle---." they heard Lee's voice shout from the speaker again. "The Slytherin captain right behind her----. He's really getting close. Oh but Johnson passes the quaffle to her teammate, Alicia Spinnet. Nice pass, Angelina. Can Spinnet make this shot? She shoots and--------------GRYFFINDOR SCORES!
Gryffindor cheers rang throughout the cold air as the Slytherins howled with disappointment.
Back up in the air, Draco caught sight of Harry diving for something and knew exactly what that something was. Draco zoomed through the air to catch up with Harry.
He could see Harry reaching for the snitch, his fingertips just barely touching it.
Draco quickly pushed into the side of Harry causing Harry to loose balance and almost fall off of his broom. Harry's broom swayed to the side. He quickly caught his balance and flew over to Draco.
"Those two seekers are really going at it up there." Lee said. Everyone was on the edge of their seats to see which seeker would catch the golden snitch. Just as Draco was about to grab the snitch, he heard one of his teammates shout out to him,
"DRACO, LOOK OUT!"
Draco looked up in time to find a bludger coming right at him. Before he could dodge the bludger, it hit him with full force causing his broom to brake in half. Draco came tumbling down and landed in the hard snowy ground with a loud thud.
"OOOOOH." Lee Jordan said at the sound of Draco's body hitting the ground.
"And Draco Malfoy, the Slytherin seeker, was just hit by a nasty bludger but," Cries for the Slytherin team and other Slytherin students were drowned out but Cheers from the Gryffindors. "Harry's caught the snitch." Lee finished.
"GRYFFINDOR WON, with a hundred and eighty points." Lee shouted happily.
All of the Gryffindors stood up and shouted for joy. Hermione stood up too but she was frozen in total shock. She was shivering from the cold air as she peered down at the field were Draco's body laid. She could see people putting his body on a stretcher.
Ginny saw that there was fear in Hermione's eyes.
"Where are you going, Mione?" Ron yelled over the cries of celebration. Hermione didn't reply. She just kept running as fast as she could down to the field.
"Hermione." Harry said, seeing Hermione run passed him, wondering where she was going in such a rush.
"Is he going to be alright?" Hermione asked rushing up to Madam Pomfrey.
She saw that Madam Ponfrey and Professor Snape were carrying Draco on the stretcher.
"He will be just fine my dear." Madam Pomfrey replied. Hermione began to cry as Professor Snape and Madam Pomfrey vanished into the castle.
A/N: Ok, so I know that I used some characters for the Quidditch match that are out of school at this point but oh well. And I know that I left you guys with another cliffhanger but I'm sorry. Any who, lol. What's up with Harry all of a sudden? Why is he acting like nothing happened between him and Hermione? Was it really Harry who kissed Hermione? Or is it all just someone's plan to get rid of Hermione.
Oh, and we can't forget about poor Draco. Sniff Sniff. I told you it started off really happy and then got really sad. Will Draco be all right? Well I guess you'll just have to find out in the next chapter.
Love lots,
