One thousand years ago, a war broke out between the Cognars and the Reknens. A woman named Kaykei sent her son, Rofneka, to fight for his country, Reknen. It was two weeks later that the Cognars took Rofneka hostage. When Kaykei received this news, she was inconsolable. She knew the Cognars were a beastly bunch and if he made it out alive it would be a miracle. One night she became so consumed in her sadness for her son and anger for letting him go that she prayed to the goddess Greatuno, who was the greater of all the gods and goddess of the garden. Greatuno took pity on her and blessed her. As one of Kaykei's tears fell, it took the shape of a man. She stood up and looked at him.
" Who are you?" she asked.
" I am Moonosun, god of sadness and anger," he replied.
Upon hearing this, Kaykei fell to her knees once more. When she stood up, she examined Moonosun. His wore a white robe tied by a tellow rope at his waist. He had straight brown hair, a moustache, and a beard. His brown eyes were lively.
" The great goddess Greatuno has blessed you. You shall deliver all of your sadness and anger to me while Peacronecle, god of miracles finds a way to save your son."
" Why can't Peacronecle save him now?" Kaykei asked, whining.
" It depends on the goddess of who dies and who lives, Diclives," Moonosun replied.
Kaykei was silent. Diclives was a hard one to convince.
" Now lets get my job over with," said Moonosun.
He took Kaykei's hands into his.
" Close your eyes," he instructed
She closed her eyes and when she did all of her sadness and anger seemed to leave her. When she opened her eyes, Moonosun was different. His robe was black with a blue rope. His straight brown hair was curly and dirty. His eyes became dull. There was a frown on his face.
" What happened?" Kaykei asked in shock.
" When you let go of your hurt it came to me and changed my appearance," he said sadly.
" What do we do now?" she asked.
" We wait," he replied.
For three days they waited. Everynight this happened, Kaykei grew happier and Moonosun got more bitter. Four days after Moonosun arrived, Rofneka arrived unharmed. Kaykei rejoiced the arrival of her son and thanked Moonosun for his company. Moonosun stayed until Kaykei and Rofneka sat down to talk. He then disappeared to go to his home on the Island of Emotions. There the goddess of embarassment blushes and the god of happiness laughs. This is where Moonosun weeps forevermore.
