Chapter One A unexpected visit

An elf, who was a little under 3,000 years old, with blond hair rode into Rivendell, with his companion; Gimli. Gimli was a stout little dwarf, who, like any dwarf, thought of nothing but food.

"Are we there yet, friend? I am so hungry, that I can smell the grand feast!" Gimli said impatiently.

"I am sure you can, Gimli. Though, you must wait longer. Dinner has not started yet!" Legolas said with a laugh. He knew much about a dwarf's appetite, after spending over a year with Gimli.

"Hello, my friends. What is the reason for this visit?" An elf-maid said from behind them.

"Hello, lady Arwen" Legolas said with a slight bow, as did Gimli. "Do we need a reason for being in such remarkable place?"

Legolas and Gimli had gone around Middle- Earth, as promised, and had been to Rivendell more than once. "No, I suppose not. Though you are in time for a celebration. My cousin is having a feast of some sort for the Wyndervere Festival of 4 winds . You know the usual, food" This was greeted by a grunt from Gimli and a laugh from Legolas "dance, so on. Séreméla!" at this a she-elf came forward. "Show these two to their rooms. I will see you two tonight, then."

That night, everyone gathered under the stars to celebrate. Legolas and Gimli were talking to Arwen and Aragorn. Everyone was having a great time, drinking and idly talking, waiting for dinner's feast to begin. Another she- elf came up to Arwen and left. "Pardon me, my father calls." Arwen left with the she- elf. Several minutes later, Arwen came back, as did Lord Elrond. Legolas was about to say something when he saw what everyone else was staring at. An elf-maiden stood at the top of the stair. Her blonde hair was put into two small braids that were pulled back into a larger braid. She was wearing a dress made of a chocolate colored fabric, with a pink sash Her eyes, which were a dark blue, were sparkling in the moonlight.

"Prince Legolas, Let me introduce my cousin, Silivren" The elf in question gave a slight curtsy. "Silivren, Prince Legolas, of Mirkwood." Legolas gave a slight bow.

"I believe greetings are in order. I am honored to have someone of such status here tonight." Silivren gave a deeper curtsy. "Dinner is ready, if you all would follow me." She led them to the dinning hall.
Dinner was nothing unusual. A little talking there, eating here, occasional looks between two elves (I'll give you 3 guesses who). When the feast was over, and people were leaving, all that was left was Lord Elrond, Arwen, Aragorn, Silivren, Gimli, and Legolas. "Well, I guess I'll be going off to bed. Quel du Good night " Silivren said with a nod to the rest of them. "If I were you, lad, I'd go after her." A gruff voice snapped Legolas out of his thoughts.

"Lady Silivren?" Legolas found Silivren at a lake.

"'Tis beautiful, is it not?" a melodic voice asked. Silivren looked from Legolas to the sky, which was filled with stars. "Wherever I go, it never seems to stay the same"

"The sky? Or you?"

"Such flattery, however, I was referring to the stars." Silivren noticed the blush on her cheeks. "Well, 'tis late, I should be going. Quel kaima Sleep well "

"Wait!" Legolas saw her retreating.

Silivren turned around dark blue eyes meeting light ones. "Mani naa ta, Heru en amin What is it, my lord? " her voice barely above a whisper.

"Let me walk you back."

"I am quite capable, unless of course, you wish to accompany me?" Silivren offered her hand. That night Silivren slept soundly.

A/N Ok, yes this is a legomance/Cinderella story, but if you don't like it, don't read it. The picture for the dress used at the feast is http : www. elvenkingdom. net / gallery /displayimage .php ? album = 15 & pos = 16. Thanks, Atrethien!
