A/N: This story is AU and OOC. I hope this doesn't bother many. Also be warned that there is character suicide in this piece.

And as they all grow older the truth will be understood,

Cuz we never turn out the way we thought we would.

Technicolor Girls by Death Cab For Cutie

Her brown hair clung to her shoulders as she stared over the balcony in the forbidden room. The room seemed as if it didn't belong in her house hold. It was just too perfect for her home. Its warm colored walls appeared inviting and offered a sense of peace. No other room had offered this to her let alone a person.

She looked graceful as she stared out into the empty yard in front of her. The view wasn't as beautiful as Marissa's but this didn't matter. She wasn't interested in the view anyway. She closed her eyes and held them shut as she thought it over what her intentions were. When she felt convinced that this would be for the best she opened her eyes and looked over the edge. She figured three high floors up should do the trick.

Summer let her body gently fall to the side of the balcony and pressed her back against the bars. Memories instantly flooded her mind. The days when it was easier to suppress her emotions and when daddy made her visit the therapist.

Flashback.

"Summer you're such a beautiful girl. It's heartbreaking when someone with so much head of them feels this way."

"I'm not beautiful."

"Summer you're twelve; you're not even old enough to understand life at its worst."

"I know that when know loves you it isn't worth living."

"Are you happy Summer? When you wake up in the morning aren't you glad that you're surrounded by your family and friends?"

"I have no family besides Princess Sparkle and my friends aren't exactly that great."

"Princess Sparkle as in your plastic horse? I thought Marissa was your best friend."

"Yes and I have my father but he's hardly ever home. I'm Marissa's best friend but she's not mine."

"What about your friend Seth Cohen? You know so much about him that it seems as if you're rather close with one another."

"I'm not supposed to know he exists."

"Is this going to get better when I'm older?"

"Of course it will. You'll realize sooner or later that you have a great family and loving friends who want to see you be at your best."

End of flashback.

Seth, Marissa and Ryan walked they're way to the back of Summer's house assuming she may have been in the pool since no one answered the door. Seth filled with joy and excitement as he approached the back. Marissa held onto Ryan's hand tightly and led the way.

Summer finally picked herself up from the floor of the balcony. She adjusted her self and brushed a few strands of her raven colored hair out of her face with her fingers. She then went on to pull her self up to the ledge of the balcony.

Seth finally saw Summer and couldn't help but smile. Instantly he yelled her name without even questioning why she was on top of the balcony ledge. Marissa and Ryan turned their head into the direction that Seth had yelled to.

Summer looked at them and gave them the last smile she would ever give and then allowed herself to fall.
