Author's Note: This is a one shot. It's short. The actually story is only 390 words long. Probably one of the shortest things I've written, and that's saying something!

Perfects

Hermione sat in her room at the Black Residence, running her thumb over P on the badge. P for Perfect. She had received a perfect badge and so had Ron, but why not Harry? She had thought that Harry would have received one, not Ron. It wasn't that she thought Ron was a bad person, quiet the opposite in fact, but it just seemed that with all the heroic deeds Harry had done, Harry would have been a perfect.

Maybe it was because of those deeds that Dumbeldore had given it Ron instead. Maybe to set an example that he didn't favor his students. Hermione put the badge and down at stepped down off her bed. It didn't make sense to her in the slightest.

Harry was a good person. He had had some trouble in the past, especially with recent events. Diggory's death weighed heavily on his mind and he was troubled lately. Really troubled. Rita Seeker's stories about Harry during the Tournament were also troubling him and her. Rita had reported that she, Hermione, had been Harry's girlfriend. Everyone knew it wasn't true but Hermione had started to wonder about that.

She respected him, looked up to him, and often times turned to him for direction. She loved him, yes, as a friend, as family. Her relationship with Harry surpassed both friendship and family. Her relationship with Ron was another story.

Hermione and Ron didn't get off to a good start but soon built that up into a rocky friendship. That rocky friendship had developed into a solid one but there still some loose gravel. They argued more often than not and were, most of the time, not speaking to each other.

They disagreed and rarely saw eye-to-eye but all the same they held a mutual caring for each other. They had true friendship. Hermione thought of Ron's jealously towards Viktor last school year. Was it because of Viktor or because of her? Hermione didn't dare hope that he had feelings for her, and the same went for Harry.

They were both her friends but she felt herself falling, hard, for both of them. Hermione shook her head, what was she thinking? Harry and Ron were her friends, her family, and nothing more. Hermione reached down and picked up her perfect badge. She was a perfect and so was Ron but in Hermione's mind Harry was a perfect too.
