Disclaimer: I own nothing
Author's Note: This has probably been done a thousand times, I'm sure. But this is what I think happened to Cordelia after "Your Welcome."
Reunited
Cordelia turned and glanced as Angel picked up the phone, "Oh and you're welcome," she said. She felt herself lighten and immediately glanced around at the clouds around her. "Alright, you have me here what do you want?" She demanded.
"They ask for nothing from you," a familiar voice said.
"Doyle!" Cordelia ran to him and he embraced her tightly. "Doyle, you're-you're here. How is this? Is this heaven?"
"One of the heavenly dimensions, or so I've been told, depending on who you are and what role you played in life you kind of wind up in different areas."
Cordelia shrugged, "Have you been aware of everything back where we-we were?"
"No," Doyle said, "Only what the Powers that Be want me to know."
"Is this dimension under their control?" Cordelia asked, "I was told so little before I went to see Angel."
"I believe so," Doyle said, "It doesn't really matter, whatever happened back there is over. Now it's time to begin again."
Cordelia smiled and then frowned, "So we'll have no idea what is going on with them, will we?"
Doyle lightly took her hand, "No, but it does not matter. It would be torture to know what is going on back down on Earth and knowing you could not do anything. Everyone has a destiny and a time. My destiny and time has come and passed, as has yours. The others will follow when it is their time."
Cordelia's smile didn't wane and she tightened her hand around Doyle's, "So what happens here?"
"Anything we wish." Doyle said a sly and mischievous grin on his face.
"Really," Cordelia said and leaned forward and kissed him lightly.
"What was that for?"
"Because I could," Cordelia said, "And because this time it wasn't meant to be used to pass visions along."
Doyle threw up his hands, "I didn't know that was going to happen!"
Cordelia grabbed him by the shirt, playfully, "sure you didn't." Then she paused, unsure if she should tell Doyle about her relationship with Angel.
"I already know," Doyle said, Cordelia looked at him with surprise, "I know about Angel. I sort of knew it would happen one day."
"It does not bother you?" Cordelia asked.
"Do you love him?"
"Yes," she answered honestly.
"And me?"
"Yes," she said again, realizing as the words came from her mouth, she meant them.
"And Angel is not here, is he?" Doyle said.
Cordelia smiled and kissed him again, "No I suppose not."
Doyle took her hand, "Come, let me show you around this dimension."
THE END
