SUMMARY: Amy's father constantly abuses Amy's mother. Finally, her mom gets the will to leave the abusive marriage with Amy to start a new life. But the lasting scars on Amy of staying up late up night as a child listening to her mother cry in pain, affects Amy in ways they never should've. And once her mother and her think that they are in the clearing, her mother falls once again and Amy's left to fend for herself as her mother's new boyfriend doesn't only have his eyes on her mother, but on her aswell. Falling into this downward spiral, Amy turns to a life no young girl should go through and a young boy she'll later meet will be the only one to save her.
PROLOGUE
10-year-old Amy sat timidly, awake in her bed as she listened to her mom scream as her father continued to 'put her in her place'. She could hear the deathly sound of her father's hand coming across her mother's face as once again, the woman let out a yelp, hoping not to wake her child. Amy listened as she heard her mom beg her dad to stop and that she couldn't take it anymore. She bled and cried as she wiped up her cuts and bruises as her father passed out on the couch with his 7th beer bottle in his hand. The glass bottle slipped from his hands as it fell to the ground, the pieces that were once together, now a mass of broken shards of glass. The dark liquid ran out of as it smeared across the carpeted floor, tainting the once clean flooring.
Looking at the time, Amy realized that he was done for the night and the painful cries of her mom would subside. For that night at least.
