Prologue
On a night when rain fell and winds howled, a silver haired thief ran through the forest at an immense speed. An insane smirk was etched perfectly on his face and deep in his brown eyes was a look of a power hungry lust. He had achieved what few thieves dared to attempt. Him, the thief Bakura, had stolen the Gods Orb from the King's Vault. Close behind him was a young lady named Botan. She was Lord Koenma's secretary, of sorts. Her long teal hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she wore a pink kimono. The only reason why she was able to keep up with him for this long was because she was riding an oar.
"This is growing tiresome," Bakura growled as his feet glowed a bright blue.
In the blink of an eye, he leapt up into the black trees and disappeared into thin air. Whispers of his evil laughter echoed throughout the woods for several minutes then soon vanished. Botan moaned in disappointment and pulled her oar under a tree. While hovering above ground, she pulled out what appeared to a purple compact from her robe. She flipped it open to reveal a speaker inside.
"Lord Koenma, sir, Bakura got away from me," she reported into the speaker.
"Good work, Botan. I just wish that you didn't lose him," a childish voice responded.
"Yes I know, sir. I'll try better next time."
Jumping down from the trees, Bakura walked up to a stone alter in a small clearing. His lustful grin grew as he walked up the stone steps with the small glass orb in his hands. The steps had Egyptian hieroglyphs engraved on them and the walls in the back of the temple had images of a huge golden dragon and other powerful beasts. At the center of the small temple, was a perfectly carved statue of Anubis. Bakura placed the glass orb in the jackal's open mouth with trembling hands. Never had any steal been so exciting. Soon, Bakura's body vanished, leaving only his clothing behind.
"Finally, I've been freed..."
Laying in on a futon, a silver haired boy was sound asleep. He looked similar to the notorious thief, only more innocent and pure. His sleeping body was wrapped up in heavy blue covers. On a desk, beside the window, a golden ring with an upside-down pyramid in the center started to shine. Nothing of importance was shown in his room, just a card game setup and a letter to some girl named "Amane".
"Welcome to your worse nightmare, Ryou," the thief's voice echoed as the Millennium Ring stopped shining.

Short, but this was a prologue. And the last time I did a chapter long prologue, my friend Britany wanted to yell at me. LOL. Anyway, any tips or hints or anything would be extremely helpful to me. Concreted flames are welcomed as well! But if you bash my story without a reason, all you're doing is proving your ignorance.
