Disclaimer: I do not own Cowboy Bebop or Wolf's Rain or 'Nomah's Land' by Metisse.
A/N: Alright, I am a huge Dead Like Me fan and I fell in love with the song they played in the church in the episode The Shallow End. The song was called 'Nomah's Land' and it was by Metisse, the same group who did the song 'Boom Boom Ba'. The more I watched the scene and heard the song, the more I thought of a weird story crossing the worlds of Bebop and Wolf's Rain. It will either be really good or really bad. Judge for yourself. Oh, and if you want to hear 'Nomah's Land', check out "
Summary: Spike makes a deal with a mysterious girl after he dies. She keeps his soul for 400 years and he will be born again. But when he wakes up after 400 years, he's in for something he never expected.
Chapter 1: Light in the Darkness
Spike felt weary as he climbed down the stairs. He was dying, but he wasn't ready to go yet. He looked up to see a group of Red Dragons ready to fight him. He only laughed as he brought up his hand and pretended it was a gun. "Bang..." He fell over onto the stairs as his world went dark. He didn't hear anything. Then, a piano started to play a tragic song. It was soft as a sad voice joined in.
Spike opened his eyes slowly. He sat up and saw stained glass windows of a church. He looked at himself. Not bloody at all. He stood up and saw a girl with short curly hair playing a tragic song on her piano. She stopped playing and looked at Spike. Her skin was dark and her brown eyes shimmered with sadness.
"Spike Spiegel", she said in a slow voice, "I've been expecting you"
Spike was taken back. How did she know him? "Is this...Heaven?" The girl shook her head. "No, but it is not Hell or Purgatory either. It's a place for people who aren't meant to die yet." Spike was confused. "Not meant to die?"
The girl nodded as she stood up. "Spike, it wasn't your time. I cannot let you go off to the beyond yet."
"You can't be serious lady."
She nodded. "You have another life ahead of you."
Spike sat in one of the pews. "What is your name kid?" The girl looked at him with her eyes. Those sad eyes. Spike thought of Julia and Faye immediately. They got looks like that in their eyes sometime. He shook it off though.
"My name is Aida." Aida sat next to Spike. "Please believe me about this."
Spike looked down at Aida. He rubbed his eyes. "I do. I just...how am I reborn?" Aida stood up and walked towards the window. "Your last life is suppose to be 400 years from now." Spike gasped a bit, but he didn't say anything. "But, I hate to see you live all those lives in pain." She spun around and looked at him. So, I have a deal." Spike looked at her. "Yes?"
"I keep your soul for 400 years, and you are born again."
Spike stared at her. "I guess..." Aida's eyes lighted up. She held out her hand. Spike was hesitant but he grabbed her hand and shook it. Just as he did, he felt a shock go up his body and he fell over. The images became blurry as Aida looked at him. "I will meet you in Paradise." She walked away and Spike heard the piano again. It faded out as he fell asleep. It was faint, but he was also sure he heard a wolf howl.
