Yes, I know, I haven't updated in a while…you're all able to forgive me, right? Awww…thank you! I'm going to skip the reviewer notes this time. I don't have long on the computer.
Chapter 8: GaibWhen Rachel walked into Altheia's office that day she was surprised to see a man already in the room, talking with Altheia. The man was tall with messy black hair and deep violet eyes. He was wearing black dress pants with extremely frayed hems, a white shirt with the first two buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and black leather flip-flops. Wow, Rachel thought, He's hot, and he's got style! I like him already!
Neither the man nor Altheia seemed to notice Rachel's entrance. And was it just her, or was Altheia flirting a bit?
"Ahem!" Rachel cleared her throat loudly.
Altheia and the man turned to look at her.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" Altheia said, "Have you been there long?"
"No, only a few seconds," Rachel answered.
"That's good." Altheia gestured to the man, "Rachel, this is Gaib Ruel. He has been helping Jete with fangirls since before the FGCS was established. Gaib, this is Rachel, she is the first fangirl to be assigned to me."
"Nice to meet you Rachel," Gaib said, holding out his hand."
Rachel felt something in her jump; she was going to be able to touch him! She shook his hand, "Nice to meet you to," she replied nervously, "You're Phaidra's agent, aren't you."
"Uh-huh, yes indeed," he answered, "Well, you two just continue with you session as normal. I'll just sit back here and take notes."
Rachel was confused, and it must have shown on her face because he added, "When we get new agents Jete likes for me to sit in on a session or two during their first couple of weeks to see how they are doing."
"Oh," Rachel said blankly.
"So, you two carry on."
Rachel and Altheia took their normal seats. "So how has your day been?" Altheia asked her.
"Pretty good. I ate breakfast with a few of the other girls. We had fun, no fights or anything." She answered.
Altheia laughed. "How long had the other girls been here?"
"I don't really know, we didn't talk about that. The seemed pretty new though."
"So, what did you talk about?"
"Mostly introduction stuff. Which hall we were in, our fandoms…" she paused here, "…and agents." She prayed Altheia would ask her to mention what was said about the agents, at least, not with the main topic of discussion sitting there in the room!
Phaidra and Legolust had been right: he was really hot. She didn't blame Altheia for flirting. He seemed to be the kind of guy that you couldn't help flirting around, whether you wanted to or not. Phaidra sure was lucky.
Her prayers were answered. "So, who all was it, and who were their agents?" Was Altheia's next question.
"Well, there were four of us. Lotus, she said you were her agent, Phaidra, one of Gaib's fan-girls, and Legolust, I don't think she said who her agent was." Then she added to herself, They started talking about Gaib before she could say!
"Lotus came to me yesterday. Her original agent wasn't quite…um…prepared to counsel fangirls," Altheia said somewhat cautiously.
"So I heard." Rachel replied, trying not to laugh.
"Do the four of you plan on spending more time with each other?"
"No plans were made. But I think we'll see each other often while we're here."
Gaib spoke up, "I usually don't talk during other people's sessions, but do you mind if I say something?"
"Not at all," Altheia answered.
"Thanks. Rachel, a lot of the girls who come here don't make friends. Several close themselves up to everyone but their agent. It's a big mistake. You need friends while you are here. They know what you are going through better than we, the agents, do. It really helps if you have friends here."
Rachel wouldn't have cared if he had cussed her out or said she was stupid for spending time with other fangirls. He had the richest, most beautiful voice she had ever heard. She could listen to him talk for days. But he had encouraged her and even remembered her name!
Rachel was nearly in a trance through the rest of the session. Gaib was wonderful!
End of chapter 8My friend Brit wanted Gaib to be wearing toe socks to top it all off. I decided not to, but I'll give her credit here for the idea.
