I am constantly reminded that life isn't always fair and god knows it isn't always fun. We should all live life and build a mountain to stand on. I on the other hand have been slowly digging my own grave. This is my cautionary tale of when I let my heart drag me away from everything I have ever known. It all started on a very bright cherry morning with the sun shining, the birds singing and not a cloud in the sky. (You thought it was going to be raining, didn't you.)

"Would you like another pancake?" Nick asked flipping an unbelievable large pancake onto his own plate.

"No, I am quite stuffed!" Sara smiled, "Why are you making me breakfast anyway? Is it our anniversary or something?"

Nick walked over to the kitchen table and took the case folder Sara was reading out of her hands. "Ha Ha! You are so funny. Can you believe we have been dating for one whole year?"

"Yes." Sara simply put. "No, seriously take that pancake away I am full." Sara laughed as Nick pushed another pancake in front of her.

"Just eat the whipped cream then, It won't stay good in the fridge." Nick sat down very slowly into the chair next to Sara keeping his hand on the back of her chair.

"Fine." Sara picked up her fork and dug into the whipped cream hitting something hard. "What the hell is this?" she asked as she picked up a diamond ring covered in whipped cream.

"It's an engagement ring!" Nick got down on one knee as he took the ring from her hand. "Sara, will you marry me?" Nick asked staring up at her expressionless face holding out the ring and holding her hand.
