Title: Even in Death

Chapter: One Shot, No Title

A/N: Hey people! I was just thinking and listening to some music, and I came up with this, a little thing about Doc Ock and Rosie... all the italicized are the lyrics to "Even in Death" by Evanescence

Disclaimer: God, I hate doing this... anyways, I do not own Doc Ock, Rosie, or any of the Marvel characters, nor do I own the Evanescence lyrics, songs, or indicia.

...

"Just a bouquet of roses, that's all." said Doc Ock. He was going to visit her grave, but he couldn't believe she was gone...

Give me a reason to believe you're gone...

He paid for the roses and walked across the street to the cemetery where she was buried. It was a bit spooky, since the trees and bushes gave eerie shadows on the ground, and he paused. One looked exactly like her, with her hair blowing in the wind.

I see your shadow, so I know they're all wrong...

Moonlight on the soft brown earth

It leads me to where you lay...

He followed the dirt path, then dashed past the many tombstones, searching... he stopped. It was supposed to be right here... they must have moved it... He heard the arms, talking, but he told them to be quiet. It was their fault she was dead... their fault she was gone...

They took you away from me but know I'm taking you home...

He found the grave, a small tombstone with the words, "Rosalie Octavius" engraved on it.

"I will stay forever here with you, my love." he said, softly. He had always said that to her, before they would be parted by a family trip, or even before they went to sleep.

The softly spoken words you gave me,

Even in death our love goes on.

The next day, he was to be found, poking miserably at his scrambled eggs in a dinner. He was muttering to himself, when he looked up suddenly. He began talking about his day to the air, and really surprised a couple of people when he said, "Rosie, don't worry, this is going to work fine! Don't worry!"

Some say I'm crazy for my love, oh my love...

"I know you'll always be there, Rosie, I know you won't leave me!" he said, smiling.

But no bonds can hold me from your side, oh my love...

They don't know you can't leave me...

A while later, he was sobbing, telling them to shut off the television. There was an advertisement for a CD that had many romance songs from who-knows-when, and there was a song that they would always sing together... it was their song.

They don't hear you singing to me...

I will stay forever here with you, my love,

the softly spoken words you gave me...

The arms were trying desperately to get him to calm down, talking to him mutedly, but they failed.

Even in death our love goes on...

"I can't love you, anymore than I do." he said, walking out of the diner, not even paying for his bill.

"I will die..." she had said once, because he had always been so attached to her.

"But real love is forever."
