Disclaimer: This story was inspired by Song from the Sea by Katherine Kingsley. In no way do I own Cardcaptor Sakura or any of the characters. They were created and belong to CLAMP. One can dream though...
Summary: Syaoran is a suicidal Duke who is suffering from the sudden death of his beloved wife. Sakura is the mysterious girl who washed upon his land with no memories but her name. Will they find peace of mind together?
Memories
Prologue
"Father, please, don't leave me!"
A man laid on his death bed, his face pale and body thin. He managed a smile and reached a shaking hand to wipe away the tears from his daughter's eyes. "My precious Sakura, I didn't plan on leaving you like this, but the illness is worst than I thought." More tears gathered in Sakura's eyes as she struggled for words. "Touya will be waiting for you in England. You will set sail there immediately after."
"No father, you won't die!" the young girl cried out in despair and she buried her face into the bed linens, weeping uncontrollably. "You can't die!"
The father patted her head. "Don't weep for your old man. I want to go on with the memory of your smile." Sakura raised her head, forcing a smile to her lips even with the tears streaming down her face. "That's my girl. You were always so beautiful, like your mother." His eyes became farther away. "Nadeshiko, I will be joining you soon."
"Father..."
"My precious Sakura, go to England and find your happiness there knowing that your mother and father are watching you from above."
--------------
Syaoran braved the raging winds and thought that he chose the perfect day to end his miserable life. The sky was black, the wind was howling and the sea was turbulent. It was possibly the worst weather to go sailing in and worked with his plan perfectly.
Water gushed into his small boat but he ignored it. His arms cried out with the strain of the rowing and looking back to the distant land, he figured here was where he would stop. Hopefully his body wouldn't wash upon the shore until he was surely dead. He thought upon it with wry amusement. He wasn't scared of death, he welcomed it.
He stopped rowing and closed his eyes. Finally, his hellish life would be ended. No more aching pain in his heart. No more forsaken memories haunting his dreams. He would be at peace. 'Mother...Father...Meiling...I'll be joining you soon. Wait for me.' Exhausted, he let the lulling of the waves put him into a dreamless sleep. 'Wait for me.'
To Be Continued...
My newest creation. I'm not sure how long this one will last, so review to tell me if this project is worthy enough to continue.
