Ranma verses a Bat!

Ranma's POV

It began like any other day; I got up, trained a bit, and was chased around by Shampoo till dinner. Kasumi had made my favorite, teriyaki chicken with fried rice. Being that it was a warm summers evening I decided to go sit on the engawa and listen to the sounds of the Tendo's small pond. I thought my day was getting to a calmer end, but I was wrong.

I heard everyone go to bed, and finally I decided it might be time for me to turn in too. Not noticing, I failed to shut the amado behind me. Again, when I reached my room I left the door open so air could circulate since the Tendo's can't afford an air conditioner.

I laid down on my futon and closed my eyes. I began to hear a swooshing noise. My eyes opened, but the darkness blinded me from seeing anything. Ignoring it I rolled to the other side. The swooshing noise began getting louder. Finally I sat up and turned on the lamp next to my bed to see a small black bat circling my futon.

I immediately laid back down on the futon in fright, and then slipped down onto the tatami floor. Wondering what to do I grabbed a book on the floor and threw it at the bat. The bat fell to the floor, but then began to twitch, and then rose back into the air.

I hid under a desk, covering my head like a tornado was coming. The bat swooped down by my hiding spot. It then made a decision to hang itself off of the edge of the desk.

I let out a very girly scream. Akane came running into the room thinking it was Shampoo attacking me late at night. She stood poised for battle in the doorway.

"Shampoo!" Akane yelled as she turned on the over head light. The bat released itself and went out of control, flying into walls, knocking things to the ground. "Oh, it's just a bat," Akane said as she removed herself from her poised position and left the room, shutting the door.

"Don't leave!" I yelled, but she failed to acknowledge me. I crawled to the light switch and turned off the light. The bat began to fly in its original circle again. In my terror of the small bat I crawled to the window on the other side of the room pulled up the sudare and opened the window.

Crawling back across the room near the door I reached up to open it when it swung open. My dad stood there with a bucket of cold water.

"I can hear you screaming like a little girl down the hall. If you're going to act like one..." he said as he dumped the water over my crouching self "be one." He then left by slamming the door in my face. I curled up into a small ball and rested on a zabuton.

The morning came and I awoke to the sounds of birds. I stayed in my position for awhile until I was sure the bat had left. Upon discovery of its departure I left the room for breakfast. I noticed a bat in sleeping position hanging off the ceiling of the breakfast area.

"Um, guys," I stuttered pointing to the hanging bat.

"You like it," Nabiki said as she pulled out a remote control. She pressed a button and the bat swooped down onto the table. "I ordered it from Jusenkyo." She finished by winking at me. In my disgust I grabbed a bowl of rice and left.

"Scared by a bat," I said to myself as I walked back to my room. "I hate Jusenkyo brand products........and I hate bats."

The End!!!
