Sorry for the wait, major writer's block. That and the end of the school year, ugh. Depending on how things go and how commited I am, I should be updating again within 2 weeks, I know that's a lot but I'm a busy person now. Just wait until summer, the updates will just be pooring in.

Wha'ts it Like to Live: Chapter 5: Just Don't Understand

))))))((((((

He paused before opening the door, taking the time to at least try and put everything in perspective. He turned the knob and opened the door, glancing at the expectant faces of his friends that were sat around the kitchen table before closing the door behind him.

"How'd it go? What did he say?" Rachel asked, intent to hear how things went with Chandler.

"He wasn't there." He replied as if they should have known that.

Ross shot a puzzled look towards Rachel before standing up. "What do you mean he wasn't there?"

"He left, he's gone, not there. I dont' know where he went." Joey walked over and plopped down on the couch, stopping himself from putting his feet up on the table before Monica had the chance to bit his head off for doing so.

"Well where did he go?" Phoebe asked, having a small hope that he would know.

"I have no idea. He never said anything about leaving when we went over there yesterday. I didn't see any bags around or anything while we were just sitting around. But he also could have just packed this morning, if he did go anywhere far."

"Well wouldn't his assistant know?" Monica asked.

"Yea, they probably would, but we have no way to contact them. Why would we have their phone number?" Ross said, sitting back down at the table.

"Well it can't be that hard to find out. We can just go to his office, somebody there would know where he went." Phoebe said, walking over to the door to grab her coat. "Is anybody going to come with me?" She asked, one hand already on the door handle.

"Yea, I'll come." Joey said standing up.

- Los Angeles -

"Chandler? Are you coming?"

Chandler quickly snapped out of his gaze from the window of the coffee shop and ran to catch up with Kyle.

"Are you okay? You don't look so good today." Kyle asked, throwing Chandler a concerned look.

"Yea, I'm fine. Just didn't get much sleep last night. I could have used another day to get adjusted here." He replied.

"Well, I don't think we have much to do today. It's only the first day of shooting, all we have to do is go and watch, throw in our two cents and then we can go home."

"Sounds easy enough to me. What time are we supposed to wrap up today?"

"I think around ten. Better than last time." Kyle laughed.

Kyle was Chandler's long time friend that he had first met when he came to LA five years ago to work on a small commercial that never even aired. Kyle was about three inches taller than Chandler and had a heavier build. He had short jet black hair that never got longer than an inch long. He usually dressed in suit jackets, jeans, and a t-shirt. Nothing fancy, and that was the way he kept things.

"I have a question," Chandler started. "Why didn't we take a car?" He asked, his legs sore for walking.

"Because it's a nice day out and you need exercise." Kyle responded, picking up the pace just to piss Chandler off.

"Yea well, I'm not going to warn you before you fall into a man hole somday."

"Oh, that hurts so much." Kyle laughed.

- New York -

About two hours later, Joey and Phoebe finally returned to the apartment, wet from the rain that had started falling an hour ago.

"So, did you guys find anything out?" Monica jumped up the second the walked in the door.

"Yea, we did." Joey shook off is coat and hung it up, dismissing the water that fell on the floor.

"Well where is he?" Ross asked.

"Los Angeles." Phoebe said, taking a seat at the table.

"Los Angeles? Well when is he getting back?" Rachel walked over and stood behind Phoebe's chair.

"They said a couple of months."

Monica sat across from Phoebe and picked at the table.

"I don't even see what the big deal is. Why are we so concerned about him now?" She asked.

"Because despite what he has done, he is still our friend. And he is obviously in trouble, he needs help, and we're going to help him." Rachel responded, also taking a seat at the table.
