What's it Like to Live: Chapter 7: Not helping anything

After about a day of searching, they were finally able to find out where Chandler was staying.
Slowly they all pilled into the two taxis, Ross, Phoebe, and Rachel in one, Joey and Monica in the other.
It was a short ride from the hotel they were staying at to the apartment complex where Chandler was living. Both cabs were silent, nobody had anything to say. They pulled up in front of the building and paid the drivers. Monica stepped on to the curb, watching the cars as they sped away.
"Well, let's go do this." Ross said, walking up and grabbing the door handle. He held it open as everybody walked inside.
Joey led everybody over to the elevator. Within seconds of hitting the "up" button, the doors 'dinged' open, letting everybody step in. "What floor was it on again?" He asked, looking at the faces of his friends. "Five," Monica replied quietly, not looking up to meet Joey's sympathetic stare.

A loud knocking on the door woke Chandler from his fitful nap on the couch. He quickly sat up and brushed the pill bottles and other drug paraphernalia that was sitting on the coffee table in front of him into the drawer below it. He stood up and attempted at straightening his now wrinkled pants and shirt that he hadn't cared to change out of when he got home from work. The knocking continued, soon turning into pounding as the person on the other side of the door grew impatient. Chandler quickly raced to the door, stopping himself from pressing his head against it when he remembered that it had no peephole. He paused and took one last breath before turning the handle and opening the door.
The first thing that came to his mind was how they had managed to track him down, but that was quickly pushed out with the thought of WHY they would want to track him down.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked quietly, blocking their path from entering the apartment.
"We're here to talk to you." Joey said, thinking that it was obvious.
"Well, that's what phone are for." He went to close the door but Joey's foot go in the way. 'Why did they keep trying?' He thought to himself. 'Why couldn't they just leave him alone and see that he had changed from the man that they knew.'
"Chandler, come on, don't do this to yourself. Just let us in, we can help you." Phoebe pleaded.
Chandler sighed in response, he knew there was no way that they were going to leave now. "Fine, come in." He moved out of their way, letting the door swing open. They all walked in, stopping in the entryway. "Well you can go sit down." Chandler smiled, motioning towards the sitting area that consisted of two couches facing each other with two big leather chairs facing towards the center of them. They all walked over and sat down, waiting for Chandler to follow.
He didn't want to be in that room with all of his friends - or former friends - staring at him. He couldn't take the pressure of them, he couldn't do what they wanted him to do. "I'll be right back, I just have to go change." He said, quickly walking over to his door.
"Chandler," Ross said. "You better not pull something like last time, we're not leaving this time." He glared at him and Chandler disappeared into his room, closing the door behind him and leaning on it heavily.
