Italic words are being spoken by Bakura.

Little Ryou Bakura sat in the principals' office, the cloudless blue-sky could be seen through the window and the sounds of children happily laughing could be heard through the small opening. The door opened and the principal walked in, a forlorn look on her face.

"Ryou, dear? How about we go and see your mother?" she asked sadly.

"Okay," he said smiling. All though he should have been at school, the principal liked to take him to the hospital to see his ill mother sometimes. His father wouldn't do it because he was never home.

The principal helped Ryou with the seatbelt and stepped into the car herself. They drove the entire way in silence.

"Off you go, Ryou. I'll wait out here for you," she said, smiling sadly as the little boy walked in to greet his mother.

Playground school bell rings again

Rain clouds come to play again

Has no one told you she's not breathing?

She's not breathing...

Tears began cascading down the little boys face as he realised that his mother had gone to the land of the angels.

"No mummy! Come back. Please, don't leave me alone!" he took his mothers hand, hoping she'd wake up. "I...I'm all alone now..." he whispered as he released the cold, pale hand.

Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to

Hello

Hello

Chocolate brown eyes looked around the white room, expecting someone to be in there with him, but it was empty, save for his mother, who appeared to be sleeping peacefully. The little boy looked at his mother again and the tears were once more falling down his angelic face.

The principal looked in through the small window of the door and saw the little boy crying. As much as she wanted to, she didn't know how to comfort the small child and so, she turned her back, and left the hospital, leaving Ryou to drown in his own sorrow.

If I smile and don't believe

Soon I know I'll wake from this dream

Don't try to fix me I'm not broken

Hello I'm the lie living for you so you can hide

Don't cry

Don't cry...

Came the whispered words from somewhere.

"Who's there?" he called through his tears. There was no answer. For no one was in the room with him.

"Please don't go! I don't wanna be alone! Please, who ever you are...don't leave me..." he trailed off.

The door opened and Ryou's father stepped in. He had flown home from Egypt immediately when he had heard of his wife's death. Tear-tracks could be seen through the dirt on his face. Gently, he picked up his son and walked in silence to the car.

Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping

Hello I'm still here

All that's left of yesterday

Hello, I'm still here, all that's left of yesterday

With those whispered words, Ryou curled up on the front seat of the car, and fell asleep, with a slight smile gracing his lips, somehow knowing he wouldn't be alone anymore.
