A/N: This is my first publish stargate sg1 fanfic....me and my friend were talking about everything we left behind when we started highschool, and how it must of felt. So I got the brilliant idea to write a small fanfic about what it might have been like for Sam to loose one of her friends. This is from her friend's point of view. (Note: we only own Carrie and THE SONG IS MINE!!!)
"Why!" yelled a frustrated Carrie alone in her room. The young adult didn't understand it. Why did her best friend, her oldest friend, have to be sent off to a military academy? She looked into her mirror, her normally placid brown eyes were red and her face was blotchy from crying. The two were supposed to go to the same collage, be friends for ever. Be the maid of honour at each others weddings. But with this malicious twist of fate, that was never going to happen
"What would I do with out you?" She whispered; the tears started up again. Carrie could hear her parents, and Sam with her family talking in the kitchen. She didn't want them to hear her cry. Carrie was supposed to be the tough one, pick everyone up after they fall, always be on top and be a light in the frozen darkness. She walked over to a photo album and shoved it to the floor. Carrie sighed angrily and paced her room; the pale purple walls were saddening her more. She and Sam painted those walls years ago. They even painted "secret" messages on them. On a whim, Carrie turned on the radio. The voice of a teenaged singer filled the room with powerful and other worldly music.
"Your my oldest
friend
my closest advisor
Your my beam of light
in this cold
darkness
Soul Sister
what would I do with out you
Soul
sister
what would I be with you?
No matter where we go
we're
always here
you can always find me
I'll be right beside
you
Soul Sister
what would I do with out you
Soul
sister
what would I be with you?
You can always turn to me
the
miles may threaten
to tear our friendship apart
we're too
strong for that
Soul Sister
what would I do with out you
Soul
sister
what would I be with you?
Soul Sister
No matter
where you go
Soul sister
you'll always be my
Soul sister"
Carrie started to break out into sobs. She hears a soft knocking at the door. She slowly walks over it, uselessly trying to dry her eyes, but the loathed tears keep falling. She opens the door to see her best friend, tears in her eyes. With out a word Samantha Carter hugs her friend, the tears fall freely from both of them.
"I will always be here for you" The girls whisper to each other over and over again, making a solemn oath.
