Ode To Tolkien
When I read his heartfelt words,
I can almost hear his very voice,
Whispering softly in my ear,
Painting the fate of his characters true.
I fall in love with such wonderful heroes,
Weep for them, for joy and sadness,
Reach out for them, to touch their faces,
Yet they are always just out of reach.
I thank him as he looks down upon us,
For the world he opened up to me,
The characters that I know so well,
The fiction that we base upon them.
I let it known, my adoration,
Respect for this man with a vision so pure,
The creator, the God of Middle Earth,
The man to whom so many tears belong.
