She looked into her mirror and sighed, rubbing a shiny spot on her nose. She was putting on make-up, but the glistening blemish would not come off. It never would. She remembered the incident that caused it, many years ago...

She was on a date with Severus Snape half a year after they graduated. Although he was sour to everyone, he always saved a sweet side for her. This is what led her to go out with him. She remembered his face, his absolute redness contrasting with his normally sickly white skin, when he asked her out. She remembered her own shock at this oddity having the courage to ask what better looking, less oily boys couldn't. This bravery added another reason to why she said yes.
Two days later, as promised, he took her to an amusement park. They rode on magic broomcoasters (Severus liked these as he could never control a real broom), bumper thestrals (made more exciting because she was floating around on nothing and randomly bumping into things; Severus, however, had the joy taken out of it by seeing the ugly bat-thing he was sitting on), and the hippogriff races (she won five out of six times versus Severus; she lost the last game because her hippogriff had become infatuated with the slowest hippogriff and had stubbornly decided to follow behind it). But their favorite part came at night while slowly going up and down the revolving giant squid wheel and seeing the fireworks emitted from the charmed dragons' mouths.
After their exhilarating day at the amusement park, they Apparated together to the end of her block, and Severus walked her home. She was quite surprised by him and his hidden fun demeanor. In fact, she found that she even liked him a lot!
They walked slowly up her house's pathway and reached the porch. They looked into each other's eyes. Both knew what they wanted. They lunged forward at the same time.
BONK!
"OW!" they cried in unison, rubbing their noses. Unfortunately, she had forgotten about Severus's infamous nose and had forgotten to tilt her head to avoid hitting it. After the collision, her view of Severus dropped painfully back to earth. She abruptly remembered all of the taunts pointed towards him, and why he got them. Tears swelled in her eyes as she realized her mistake in seeing something in him. With those thoughts in mind, she swept into her house and slammed the door without another word.

From then on, her nose always had a shiny spot on the tip of it. No matter what she did, how many Galleons she paid, no one could do anything to take it off. It seemed as if that collision and Severus's hurt feelings had cursed her nose to have an ugly blemish throughout eternity.
