Disclaimer: I do not own Final Fantasy 7 nor any of it's many bishies and locations. I also do not own the song from the Fifth Element. That belongs to some random god currently being prayed to somewhere.
Author's Note: This is intended to be read while listening to the Opera song(with all that nice techno bits at the end) from "The Fifth Element". I wrote this while listening to it and I fully intended for it to end up differently. Oh well, plot bunnies, will be plot bunnies.

-Echoing memories-
Cloud closed his eyes as the soft sounds of music filled his senses. He was in one of the forests surrounding Midgar. Breathing deeply, he pulled his sword from his back and took the position that had been grounded into his very being.
He remembered Zack teaching him the correct way to hold it. How to wrap his fingers around the coarse fabric that covered the handle and how his fingers would mold grooves to it over time.
A swing, a gasp and a whimper as memories filled his mind.
Then the two of them, fleeing from the lab only for Zack to die outside of Midgar, their dreams of freedom shattered.
He paused for breath.
Then came Aeris.
Her sweet smile and gentle nature as she headed for her unsuspecting death.
Rain started to fall, making his clothes cling to his body like a second skin.
Cloud effortlessly swung his sword; thrusting and parrying against an invisible enemy as the music picked up.
Spinning, he lunged forward striking at his opponent only to back track a few steps and flip backwards as he sunk his sword into the now wet ground.
The music ended.
"Not bad."
Spinning around, Cloud stared at the darkly cloaked figure standing in front of him.
Cloud watched as the stranger turned back on the music and turned to face him once more and pull his cloak off.
Taking a step back in surprise, Cloud could only gape as he stared at the silver haired man standing in front of him.
"Sephiroth!"
Taking a step forward, he stretched out his hand to Cloud.
"Join me."
Closing his eyes, Cloud whimpered as the music started to pick up again.
Grabbing his sword from the earth, he leaped forward at Sephiroth and swung his blade down in a death strike.
Glancing at the swing, Sephiroth deflected it with masamune.
Together the two of them battled against one another, Cloud panting while Sephiroth watched with no emotion on his face.
"Will the two of you please give it up already?"
Turning off the now silent music, Zack grinned as he stared at both sopping wet figures of his friends.
Glancing at one another, Sephiroth shrugged and walked towards Zack. Cloud growled something before re-seething his sword and following Sephiroth's lead.
Zack shook his now wet locks, picking up the music player and chuckled as two-extremely wet and growling SOLDIER's passed him.
He couldn't wait for when Sephiroth found out about Cloud and Don Corneo.
End.
