Ginny sat on her window ledge; silent tears ran down her face as she tried to block out the thought that Harry Potter could be dead. It had been two months since the war but to Ginny it felt like yesterday.
She remembered their last moments together before the war had started.
They were in Ginny's cottage, sitting on the sofa; Ginny had her head resting on Harry's chest. "Ginny," said Harry suddenly. She looked up and gazed into his emerald green eyes. "Well, I want you to know that I love you. I have felt this way since we started going out. You probably don't feel the same way but..."
"Harry, you nutcase, of course I love you. You're kind, funny, handsome and the best damn quidditch player there is."
Harry's face split into a wide smile. Harry leaned in and brushed his lips against hers.
When they couldn't last any longer without oxygen they pulled away. Both grinning from ear to ear.
"I will never leave you Ginny"

He has though, thought Ginny angrily, for he has not returned from the war. His body has not been found, this is what is giving Ginny hope, this is what is making her believe that Harry Potter is still alive.
Ginny was a healer at the war and had seen many killings that still haunted her today. Although she saved many lives that night she didn't feel it was enough.
Many of her friends were killed Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Dean Thomas and her brother Charlie. She cried when she heard the news of their deaths. "Don't think about that," she told herself angrily.
Her thoughts travelled back to Harry Potter who had spent two years training for this war, taught by the Order of Phoenix, his powers had greatly improved. It showed by the way that he fought.
Lord Vordemort met his end after duelling with Harry Potter. The boy-who-was-his-downfall, all those years ago, had finally defeated him. Which meant that the Dark Side had lost.
Ginny smiled as she remembered the look of horror on Vordemort's face when the killing curse hit him and life left his body.
Dumbledore was out of his mind with worry when he couldn't find Harry after the war. Ron and Hermione were trying to comfort each other. While Mr Weasley was trying to calm Ginny down who went hysterical.
Harry Potter had vanished that night maybe it was because he was dead or the fact that he had too many horrific memories that he couldn't live in the magical world but was now living in the muggle world alone.
Ginny sat there, looking out at the starry night. Hoping that some day Harry will return to her.
