Author's note: I atempted to post this on , but I don't suggest anyone else try, because they won't let you write but two paragraphs, and the modereators can't even get your post up until a week or so after you sent in the first chapter. It's really screwed up on those boards... don't ask why I go back.

-The New Girl-

Chapter 1

Jana Goulia sat staring out the rain streaked window pane of her bus, as she waited for the bus to come to a stop in front of her new high school.

Finally, she felt the bus's steady rumble sease, and she stood up and carelessly slung the strap of her messenger bag over her sholder, before taking her time to step down the narrow isle, and down the slippery steps.

The wetness of the floor wasn't what made her go slow, but it was the ever building dread that caused her to trudge half-heartedly towards the school where she would be a freshman at.

All her life she had lived in California, and had become imune to the constanly sweltering heat there, and it was hell for her to have to give up her friends, and her life back at home.

That, and the fact that only one person besides her knew that she was part ghost, which made her more of a goof ball at her old school, because she was always running off somewhere to take care of some evil ghost that had mysteriouly made its' way to her school.

How did she become half ghost, you ask? Well, let me start from the begining. It all started when her dad had begun to study the theroy of the existance of ghosts.

He created every kind of ghost magnitisim devise possible, even though she and her mother were constantly telling him how idiotic the whole idea was, and after not catching anything, he decided to attempt to change atimate objects into ghosts.

Jana, however, had not expected him to slip some of his special formula into a bottle of her favorite soda, so when she woke up the next morning with long blonde hair with blue tips, and glowing green eyes, she'd decided to play it off as if nothing had happened, so that her father wouldn't be tempted to try his formula on anyone else.

To this day, her father still experemented some, but not as frequently, since he was beginning to lose faith in the whole "ghost" therory.

Her friend, Elyon, wasn't so eaisy to fool, and she eventually caught Jana in the middle of a transformation one day, after snooping around a lot.

Well, Elyon wasn't here now to sooth her fears, so putting on her brave face, Jana swept a strand of soggy chestnut hair away from her naturally pale face, and steppted up the cement steps into Casper High.

The hallways was eceptionally busy, seeing that it was a Monday, and most teens were always half asleep in the mornings, (like me, hee hee!) so Jana had to elboe her way through the crowd, and shout at some jerk of a jock that had been leaning right on her locker to get off, several times.

You can imaigne the relief she felt when she slamed her locker door shut, to hear a friendly sounding voice greet her.

That's chapter one everyone! I hope you liked it, as it's my first DF fict ever. RR! ;)
