When I walked in late to Lindsey's play, I knew there was going to be trouble.
It wasn't my fault I had things that I couldn't just leave. Lindsey is important to me, but sometimes things happen.
Of course, Catherine would jump to conclusions.

You just faded to black,

So you thought you'd seen the last of me,

I was just as surprised as Catherine when Lindsey wanted to come home with me.
But I was really glad. I don't see enough of Lindsey and to have her choose me over Catherine was…well it felt really good.
The pain on Catherine's face was evident to me, although I don't think Lindsey noticed. I noticed though. Catherine was always good at showing her pain.

I still miss her, but I know she's with Grissom. She has him. She's always had him.
She had him even when she was with me.
She spent all her time with him. Of course, Catherine would say she was studying, but I knew better. I never saw her happier when she was with Grissom.
God that's hard to admit.
I miss Catherine every day, but I know she'd never have me back. Not now.
But somehow, it hurts more to know that the geek beat the jock.
