DON'T SPEAK

Summary: Sam reflects (before Shelobs cave) on what happened when Frodo sent him off. Songfic to 'Don't Speak' by No Doubt. First fic, so be a little easy on me!! =) NOT SLASH

Disclaimer: These characters belong to the brilliant mind of Professor Tolkien, I am merely borrowing them.

"Go Home" Frodo looked emotionless, and Sam was crying. Gollum was grinning. Sam left, and Frodo went up the mountain with Gollum.

You and me.
We used to be together Every day together Always

Was Gollum going to kill Frodo? Take the ring? What would happen to Middle Earth?

I really feel that I'm losing my best friend I can't believe This could be...the end

Sam knew Frodo was losing hope, and Gollum wasn't going to make it easier on him.

It looks as though you're letting go And if it's real, Well I don't want to know

Gandalf had died in Moria. Faramir told them Boromir died. What about the rest of the Fellowship? Were they ok? Were they alive?

"Go Home."
Don't Speak I know just what you're saying And I don't need your reasons Don't tell me cause it hurts Don't speak I know what you're thinking Don't tell me cause it hurts

Sam wandered around. He saw the last pack of lembas bread they had had. He picked some up and crushed it. He would kill Gollum, if he ever saw it and Frodo again.

Our memories They can be inviting but some are altogether mighty frightning

He remembered the Balrog. And he knew Frodo blamed himself for that. It had been his descision to go through the mines. And he knew Frodo would never forgive himself. Sam sat down. He was feeling guilty, he was grieving, for Gandalf, Boromir, and Frodo. Frodo was the last person who deserved to go through all this...

As we die, both you and I With my head in my hands I sit and cry

Don't speak I know just what you're saying So please stop explaining Don't tell me cause it hurts no no no Don't speak I know just what you're thinking and I don't need your reasons Don't tell me cause it hurts

"Go home" if Frodo died, he would probably never know how much those two words affected Sam. He hoped Frodo lived. He was his best friend...

It's all ending I gotta stop pretending who we are...

You and me.
I can see us dying...are we?

Don't speak I know what you're saying So please stop explaining Don't tell me cause it hurts no non Don't speak I know what you're thinking I don't need your reasons Don't tell me cause it hurts Don't tell me cause it hurts I know what you're saying So please stop explaining Don't speak Don't speak Don't speak

Sam didn't think he could take it if he faced Frodo again...the key word being 'if' not 'when' he didn't want Frodo to die hating him. Especially when he held Frodo so close to his heart (BROTHERLY!! NOT SLASH!!!)

No I know what you're thinking And I don't need your reasons I know you good I know you good I know you real good oh

Sam had known Frodo since he was around 12, and they had passed coming of age (I'm following the movie, how old was he? I really dunno). That was over half both their lives. He knew Frodo better than most people, although the people of Hobbiton just considered him 'Mr Frodo's gardener'. He was sure he was as close a friend to Frodo as Frodo was to him.

La la la la la la la la la Don't ooh ooh ooh hush hush darling hush hush darling hush hush don't tell me cause it hurts hush hush darling hush hush darling hush hush don't tell me cause it hurts...

Sam decided to go back. He knew he had to. Gollum was going to betray Frodo, more than likely to his death. And Sam had to make sure that didn't happen. He began to make his was up the mountain again, even though Frodo's voice kept repeating in his mind...

"Go home."

A/N: What did you think? PLEASE TELL ME!!! But go a little easy on me cause this IS my first fic.
