Chapter 1: Field of Innocence
The boy-who-lived lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, numb.
I still remember the world from the eyes of a child....
His childhood hadn't exactly been the best of childhoods, but at least then, he had known no hope. Now, he had tasted the sweet fragrance of hope, hope of leaving his aunt and uncle, and it had been taken away.
Slowly those feelings were clouded by what I know now....
And now, Sirius was gone. Sirius, his shining star in the darkness, was dead.

An uneven trade for the real world
He knew exactly where his own heart had gone—into the veil, with Sirius, his godfather.

Wouldn't it be better to simply go back to knowing nothing about Sirius, nothing about his chance for freedom? So that he didn't have to doubt justice in the magical world?

Maybe knowing Sirius was out there, waiting for him, waiting until Harry came of age, was comfort enough. He could've waited a few more years to join Sirius.
